PRESIDENT’S COUNCIL – INDIVIDUALS 2025 AMBASSADORS

Fiscal year 2025 was another banner year for Easterseals MORC. We served over 26,000 individuals and their families last year! This represents our continued commitment to being a trusted resource for Michigan’s most vulnerable populations.

As the demand for our services continues to grow, we continue to evolve to meet this need. Over the past year, we made significant investments in our workforce and technology infrastructure to improve our ability to recruit and retain the best talent and enhance the care experience of those we serve. We transformed our intake services to meet people where they are, including launching same day access to reduce barriers and improve access to care. We enhanced our commitment to innovation by launching a pilot project in West Michigan to expand services to a broader population of individuals experiencing psychosis and also hosted Michigan’s first ever direct care workforce conference to recognize the essential contributions of this vital workforce across the State.

Our new Autism Comprehensive Care Center opened for business, offering a one-stop shop of transformational services for individuals with autism and their families. Thanks to the support of our many community partners, this Center will be a beacon of autism services in the state of Michigan for years to come.

On behalf of everyone at Easterseals MORC, I want to thank our many partners, donors, volunteers, and team members, whose support is vital to fulfilling our mission and making a life-changing impact for people with disabilities, their families, and our communities.

I look forward to the future as we continue our work together to create healthier communities throughout Michigan.

INTAKE TRANSFORMATION

MEETING PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE

A hallmark of Easterseals MORC’s service delivery model is meeting people where they are. This involves finding people in need of care where they live, work, and play and breaking down many of the traditional barriers that prevent individuals from seeking and accessing needed services to improve their health.

Over the past year, we evolved our intake processes and initiated innovative new practices to improve access to care. As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC), we are transforming how behavioral health services are being delivered and who gets access. This model allows us to reach more people and provide them with the comprehensive services they need to improve their health.

We launched same day access for behavioral health intakes at six locations with both in-person and virtual availability. Same day access reduced wait times and no-show rates, allowing individuals to be seen in 12 minutes on average for a virtual intake and 20 minutes on average for an in-person intake.

In addition, Easterseals MORC provided an average of 66 intakes a month in community locations such as hospitals, schools, substance use treatment centers, homeless shelters, and jails. We expanded our community partnerships and are now co-located in over 35 schools and established new partnerships with Welcome Inn and MCREST homeless shelters. These important relationships help us to reach some of the most vulnerable populations in the community and provide them with seamless access to services.

By transforming our intake processes to meet people where they are, Easterseals MORC accommodated over 7,000 new intakes for behavioral health services last year!

DREAMS UNLIMITED CLUBHOUSE/ AUTISM CENTER

DREAMS UNLIMITED CLUBHOUSE IS TRANSFORMING LIVES

Dreams Unlimited Clubhouse is a place where individuals with mental illness are finding themselves again, gaining support in their recovery, and developing the skills and self-confidence they need to achieve their goals and have successful lives.

Clubhouse is an evidence-based service that empowers people with mental illness to take control of their recovery and thrive through access to opportunities for employment, socialization, education, skill development, housing, and improved wellness. There are over 350 Clubhouses internationally.

“Dreams helps me get motivated, helps me take care of myself, and helps me live a better life.”

~Clubhouse participant

The Clubhouse is structured around a “work-ordered day” which involves members working side-by-side to accomplish the daily business of the Clubhouse, while also pursuing a variety of supported education, employment, and recreational opportunities.

Easterseals MORC’s Dreams Unlimited Clubhouse currently has about 70 members who are benefiting from its self-empowerment model. For these members, involvement in the Clubhouse has helped them enhance their work and social skills, build self-confidence, foster a sense of belonging, and create a strong foundation to pursue their individual goals.

A DREAM REALIZED – AUTISM COMPREHENSIVE CENTER OPENS

What began as a vision to provide a transformational care experience for individuals with autism and their families was finally realized when Easterseals MORC’s Autism Comprehensive Care Center opened in late 2025.

With a family-centered approach and holistic service array, the Center will serve as a one-stop shop, offering autism and behavioral health therapy, as well as robust support programs for all members of the family. Since the Center opened, feedback from families has been overwhelmingly positive. The availability of so many different therapies under one roof, the custom design elements and supportive services for all family members is delivering a care experience most of the families we serve only dreamed about.

“I wish something like this existed when my kids were young.”

~Becky Richey, parent of two kids with autism

Since the Center’s opening, referrals have continued to grow and it is expected that the Center will serve over 200 individuals during its first year of operation. The new Center will establish a model of excellence for autism care in the state of Michigan for many years to come.
