Why Students Choose STEM Agriculture students prepare for careers that support communities and food systems around the world through hands-on learning and experiences. Biological Sciences students complete research projects supported by organizations like the Environmental Protection Agency and National Institutes of Health. EKU’s nationally-recognized Forensic Science program is one of the longest-running programs of its kind in the country, giving students access to real investigative experiences. Computer Science students explore areas like AI, cybersecurity, gaming and information systems— preparing for careers in fast-growing industries. This degree is nationally recognized with ABET & FEPAC accreditations. The Data Science & Statistics program is the only program of its kind in Kentucky designed to combine statistics, analytics and job market predictions into one career-focused degree. Geosciences students learn through field experiences that prepare them for careers connected to weather, climate systems, environmental science and alternative energy solutions.
