This year, for the second time, Walton will host 40 students from Salamanca … learning about the English language and American culture while staying with Walton host families and attending an immersion camp at Walton High School!
40 students from Salamanca ages 13 to 17-- sons and daughters of our professors at the Universidad -need host families. Individually or housed by pairs (just like Spain when we go!) our Spanish student guests will attend Immersion English Language & Culture Camp Monday through Friday in July from 9am to 1pm. They’ll eat lunch at Walton High School and participate in activities or local excursions on most afternoons. Host families will need to provide breakfast and supper and transportation to and from Walton.
Share your family and your normal day-to-day life. In return, make a connection that can last a lifetime! Our Walton students can earn 50 community service hours as student mentors, participate in afternoon activities (including art lessons and special projects, music, movies, and sports activities) practice Spanish and help teach English through shared family activities. Host family applications, student service applications and detailed schedule of events are available online.
Be a part of this unique opportunity to connect! Apply to be a host family --- complete an electronic registration at: waltonhigh.typepad.com/connecting_cultures/
