Georgia Artists: A Juried Exhibit Rules:
A qualified panel of jurors will determine acceptance.
The panel will be comprised of no less than two jurors. Judging will be performed by a widely experienced judge. The judge will not participate on the panel of jurors.
2012 Jurors:
Susannah Darrow, Executive Director/Co-founder of Burnaway and MA candidate in Art History at Georgia State University.
Sam Parker, Painter, Sculptor, Graffiti Artist, and Tattoo Artist. Holds MFA in Drawing and Painting from Georgia State University.
2012 Judge:
Annette Cone-Skelton, President/CEO/Director of MOCA GA and prominent Georgia artist.
Entry Information:
Fill in the application completely.
– Artist may enter up to 3 pieces total and include no more than 3 images per art work. CD with Windows compatible images in JPEG format preferred to slides.
– Label CD with artist’s name and file name for each image.
– Label each slide clearly with artist’s name, title of work, dimensions, and medium. Indicate top with a red dot.
– Enclose a stamped, self addressed business envelope if you wish slides to be returned to you. CDs will not be returned.

Deadline for entry: Tuesday, March 20, 2012
Notification letters: April 10, 2012
Delivery of work: April 24 – 27, 2012
Opening Reception: Friday, May 4, 2012 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Awards will be presented at 7:30 pm.
Awards:
– The Competition is open to artists 18 and over who are residents of the State of Georgia.
– Only original art work will be accepted. All works must have been produced within the past three years. Artwork previously shown in Abernathy Gallery may not be submitted.
– Artwork limited to a maximum of 50lb. and dimensions no greater than 72” in any direction. For works exceeding these limits, the artist will be responsible for installation of work. Please include an installation plan for works exceeding the limits.
– Accepted works must remain for the duration of the show.
– No substitution of artwork after work is accepted.
– All work must be professionally presented and/or framed, (frames must have wire ready for hanging). No saw toothed hangers will be accepted.
– Accepted work must be transported to and from Abernathy Arts Center at the artist’s expense.
– Work must be priced by the artist. No commission will be added.
– Artwork completed as part of a class or workshop assignment may not be submitted.
Original Works accepted in the following categories: Oils, Acrylics, Watercolors, Mixed Media, Drawing, Pastel, Photography, Clay, Sculpture, Printmaking, Wood. No Giclees accepted.
Work must be picked up from Abernathy Arts Center at close of show.
Each artist is responsible for insuring his/her artwork for the duration of the show. Abernathy Arts Center, the Fulton County Department of Arts and Culture and Sandy Springs Arts & Heritage Society will not be responsible for loss or damage.
