Introducing the vision for the former Earls Court exhibition site. We have a bold and ambitious vision to bring the wonder back to Earls Court by developing a new plan for the site. The Earls Court Development Company is based locally at Empress Place, with a focus on the future of the former exhibition centre site. The company is a joint venture between Delancey, on behalf of its client funds including Dutch pension fund manager, APG, and Transport for London, which formed in December 2019. Hawkins\Brown and Studio Egret West were appointed as the principal masterplan architects in 2020. Our first action was to hand back the West Kensington and Gibbs Green housing estates to Hammersmith and Fulham Council. We have since focused on bringing life back to the site and to the homes and properties which had been left empty. We have also spent much of 2021 talking with local people, listening, learning about this fascinating part of London and understanding local priorities. We firmly believe that there couldn’t be a better time to be devising a new masterplan given the seismic changes in everyday life we are all experiencing; a plan which looks forward, not back.
Our team
Before bringing forward a new masterplan for the site, we intend to look for opportunities to bring the site back to life in a meaningful way. That means activating the site, recruiting locally where possible, working with local suppliers and focusing on where we can add most value to the community.
