Labor Day Saturday: Beer, Wings & TRIVIA!
Saturday, September 4 | Swim Park | 5-8pm It’s time for our infamous Beer, Wings & Trivia! Come enjoy an evening poolside with our popular Beer & Wings menu paired with RELAXED but challenging family trivia on the pool deck! A variety of wing flavors and beer specials will be available. Trivia teams required to register in advance to guarantee a spot. RVSP for wings or trivia is REQUIRED. Call Waterfront Park at 904-621-8362. Kids Clinic Tiny Tots is for ages 3-5 from 4:00-4:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. $8 each child per clinic. Orange Ball Developmental Clinic is for juniors ages 6-10 from 4:30 -5:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. This is a great way to introduce your children to tennis. It is a fun, educational clinic that teaches them the game, eye hand coordination and of course how to have fun playing. $15 per child per clinic. Green Dot Intermediate Clinic is for juniors ages 10-12 from 5:306:30pm on Mondays which focuses more on stroke production and rallying. $15 per child per clinic. Tournament Level Clinic is for juniors ages 12 and up from 5:306:30pm on Wednesdays which is for intermediate tournament level kids. $15 per child per clinic. Teen Tennis Clinic is for beginner juniors ages 12-18 from 5:30-6:30pm on Wednesdays. Eagle Harbor 2021 Annual Member Meeting The Eagle Harbor Association (EHA) will hold its Annual Membership Meeting at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, OCTOBER 20th at Fleming Island Elementary School. The EHA board of directors encourages each of you to attend this year’s annual meeting. This is your opportunity to discuss issues that are important to you and to learn what’s happening in the community. We want your participation, but if you are unable to attend, there is a quick and easy way you can contribute. Please date, sign & put your street address on the PROXY form mailed to you and return it in the enclosed envelope. Your PROXY will help the HOA to achieve a quorum and therefore be able to conduct business at the annual meeting. In order for the association to hold the annual meeting a quorum of the members must be achieved in accordance with QUOROM requirements for the community as outlined in the Bylaws: ±Section 3.6 Quorum. Crime Watch It’s September and we have all seen it this summer - a young child riding a moped or motorized scooter down the street or sidewalk, whizzing by, not paying attention to the traffic on the roads and not obeying stop signs. It’s just a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Florida has several traffic laws in place that address these vehicles for this very reason. Let’s review the situation regarding these vehicles. Yes they are considered vehicles. According to Florida law, motorized scooters, go-peds, and pocket bikes are considered motor vehicles. However, because motorized scooters, go-peds, and pocket bikes are not manufactured to meet the required federal Motor Vehicle Safety Act, they cannot be registered for operation on public roadways, even if the operator has a valid driver’s license. Mopeds can be registered for operation on public roadways, but an operator must have a valid driver’s license to operate one. Operators of motorized bicycles do not need a valid driver’s license and are not required to register them in order to operate them on public roadways. Let’s define these vehicles• Motorized scooters/go-peds are small two or three-wheel vehicles that a person may stand or sit upon to operate or ride. Some

The steering is managed by use of a T-shaped handlebar. • Pocket bikes are miniature motorcycles with 50 cc or smaller gas engines that have automatic transmissions. • Motorized scooters, go-peds, and pocket bikes cannot be legally operated on public roadways, sidewalks, or bicycle paths. • Mopeds and Motorized Bicycles have 50 cc or smaller engines with two wheels and can travel a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour. Motorized bicycles have electric helper motors and can travel a maximum of 20 miles per hour. Both mopeds and motorized bicycles have pedals and may be operated solely by human power. A driver must have at least a Class E driver’s license and tag registration to legally operate a moped. The operator of a motorized bicycle does not require a driver’s license. Persons 16 and older may operate a moped or a motorized bicycle on public roadways. Mopeds and motorized bicycles can be operated on sidewalks and bike paths when and only if operated solely by human power. Persons under 16 may only operate mopeds on private property and must wear protective headgear securely fastened upon their heads. Note: All criminal violations involve issuance of a Uniform Traffic Citation, mandatory court date, and/or arrest.
