Inside RPA we have a culture and management style which supports client service and professional expertise. OUR TECHNOLOGY Randall-Paulson Architects is technically sophisticated and experienced. We stay on the forefront of both project and management software and are often requested to train other design firms in the use of particular programs. Along with BIM technology, we utilize a web-based specification software (Specklink-E), advanced communication technology (Newforma), PlanGrid, and integrated administrative software (Vision). These exciting tools have provided deep access to information, increased our speed of response, and eased effort for our clients.
Revit
This multi-dimensional design method allows us to study building massing and spatial qualities from the very beginning of design documentation. It also allows our client to quickly visualize the building design as opposed to the often difficult reading of two dimensional plan drawings. Additional embedded information in the database allows retrieval of building component schedules and detail.
V-Ray
V-Ray is a rendering engine that uses advanced techniques, for example global illumination algorithms such as path tracing, photon mapping, irradiance maps and directly computed global illumination. The use of these techniques often makes it preferable to conventional renderings which are provided standard with 3D software, and generally renderings using these techniques can appear more photo-realistic, as actual lighting effects are more realistically emulated.
Aerial
We offer professional nationwide drone video and photography services. Using state of the art technology, and the most advanced machines we can capture breathtaking panoramic videos and incredibly detailed photographs. Additional services include construction progress photos, real estate marketing material, and multi-media videos. We are FAA approved and have our own UAS Pilots to deliver premium high-quality photography.
Lumion
Lumion 4.5 has become an essential illustration tool for the creation of quality visual images and videos of our building designs. The software allows us to take a 3D model that has been created within a BIM program and integrate it into a realistic 3D setting. People, cars, trees, and numerous environments bring to life a scene or animated video clip. Clients can better visualize and present their building design through these rendered images, video ‘fly-throughs’, and views.
3ds Max
3ds Max is a professional 3D computer graphics program used by our in-house architectural visualization studio to make 3D animations and models. The software has modeling capabilities, a flexible plug-in architecture, and can be used on the Microsoft Windows platform.
Matterport
The Matterport is a small portable camera we take to an existing or under construction job site. This revolutionary product scans the existing space and generates a scalable 3D model which allows us to document existing conditions that are up to 99% accurate. This versatile camera also allows you to virtually walk-through the existing space and see every angle from the floor to ceiling. The camera scanning is lightning-fast and fully automated.
BSD Speclink-E
A master specification writing, management, and production system that is updated quarterly. It is an indispensable tool. We can produce project specification manuals with great speed and relative ease. This latest iteration is also capable of being linked to Revit models.
PlanGrid
PlanGrid is a construction app that lets contractors, owners, and architects collaborate with all their project plans, specs and photos in the cloud. The software allows PDF drawings to be uploaded and automatically sync to all your team’s tablets in real time. Any punch list items and markups made can also be easily shared with the entire project team.
WELLSTAR CVM RENOVATION
An established cardiology practice in the midtown area wanted to relocate to a new downtown location. RPA helped facilitate the design of the new space by preparing full construction drawings, interior design, and furniture selection. The client had a very tight timeline to complete the work and take occupancy. RPA worked with the owner and consultants to order and procure items that could meet the tight timeline.
WellStar Health System Atlanta, Georgia 9,215 SF
WELLSTAR ACWORTH HEALTH PARK WellStar Health System Acworth, Georgia 2,680 SF This project is a renovation and expansion of an existing multi-story health park building. The existing urgent care must expand to be able to meet the accessibility demands of this thriving community. The new construction and renovations compliment the existing building design. The project includes additional exam rooms, sub-wait room, laboratory, expanded waiting room, support spaces, and x-ray suite. This project was completed in two phases to ensure the Urgent Care remains fully operational during construction. The expansion/renovation will allow WellStar to better serve the surrounding community.
ATLANTA CENTER FOR REPRODUCTIVE MEDICINE Randall-Paulson Architects has been proud to serve Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine since 1988 designing multiple facilities around the city. The newest renovation, their flagship location, serves metro Atlanta in a 25,000 SF suite. The multi-component suite includes a medical clinic, in vitro fertilization laboratory, andrology / endocrinology laboratory, ambulatory surgery center, IVF transfer procedure rooms, and administration offices. This hospitality atmosphere and design has brought needed comfort to the patients and their families during important times.
Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine
Atlanta, Georgia 4,216 SF
NEUROCARE EXPANSION
This project was a 3,241 SF medical office relocation. Using lean design principals, this new space was completely renovated to not only meet but exceed our client’s expectations. The waiting area/lobby was designed to make patients feel welcome and comfortable with new furniture and easy access to check-in. The warm color palette compliments the client’s art collection that is used throughout the office. The renovation included the front office area, exam rooms, a fusion room, therapy space, and a nurse’s station.
HD Realty, LLC Atlanta, Georgia 3,241 SF
MORGANSTERN REJUVALL HEALTH CENTER The project consisted of a second generation tenant build out of a urology and OB/GYN practice. The new design added additional square footage needed for their growing practice. Additional clinical spaces include Blood Draw, Lab, IV therapy, Ultrasound, Endograph, Endostem, Neosonic and procedure room. A new open reception desk was designed to create a more welcoming feel, a breakaway from their older check-in window. To better serve their patients, three private check-out stations were created to assist on flow and to eliminate the use of an office for private financial discussions.

This project is a second generation interior buildout of an OB/GYN office. This well designed, high end spa-like space delivers exactly what Dr. Kristine Gould was looking for. The soft grey and blue palette used throughout exudes serenity and supports a positive patient experience. Using lean design principles, the new office has minimized patient and staff movement. WELLSTAR NORTH FULTON HOSPITAL CATH LAB Like many facilities, North Fulton Hospital is consistently working to meet new challenges and keep current with new technologies and techniques all while elevating the patient experience. Randall-Paulson Architects was engaged to help plan for the next generation of Cath Lab services utilizing existing storage space on the third floor of the Hospital. RPA worked with user groups, physicians, and vendors to craft the best use of space to accommodate current and future growth. The latest equipment, finishes, and approaches were used to help shape a better patient experience. The final product includes seven pre-post recovery rooms, offices, a reading room, break room, locker rooms, support spaces and two state of the art Cath Labs.

WELLSTAR AMC OB/GYN
WellStar Health System Atlanta, Georgia 3,500 SF
This project is 5,820 SF relocation and renovation for an OB/GYN office located at Atlanta Medical Center. The renovated space includes ten (10) exam rooms, a procedure room, an ultra sound room, and a non-stress test room. The project also includes a 400 SF lab with two blood draw stations that will serve the OB/GYN office as well as the general public.
