Colour Silk is a cement-based, waterproof, integrally coloured plaster formulated to be applied as a thin skim. Applied by trowel or machine sprayed. For interior use only.

Suitable surfaces Colour Silk is suitable for application to : • wood floated cement plaster surfaces • previously painted surfaces that have been suitably primed • gypsum board that has been suitably primed
Storage and shelf life When stored, unopened in a dry place at temperatures above 50C, shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture.
Packaging and coverage Colour Silk is supplied in 20kg paper bags. Coverage is approximately 5m2 per bag when applied 3 to 4mm thick.

Safety instructions Contains cement, which is alkaline when wet and can cause skin irritation. Use eye protection and gloves and avoid prolonged skin contact. Avoid inhalation of dust. Wash skin contamination away with warm soapy water. Remove splashes to the eyes by prolonged irrigation and consult a doctor. Do not ingest.

if frost is forecast within 24 hours of use in damp/wet conditions in temperatures below 50C or above 300C on elevations in direct sunlight or where the substrate is hot
Masking
Application (continued) New Rhinowall Prime the entire surface using Weber Grippon. Leave until tacky. the first layer of Colour Silk by forcing the material tightly against the surface using a steel trowel. ▲ Follow immediately with a second layer to an application not exceeding 4mm. ▲ Leave to dry until firm. Damp down slightly and pull straight by floating with a sponge trowel. ▲ Steel trowel immediately to smooth the surface. ▲ Leave overnight to air cure. ▲

Curing Wet the walls 3 times during the next day using clean water.
Sanding The surface may be sanded using water-paper if desired. This will create a very smooth finish. Leave the walls to dry for 2 days after curing and then sand the surface lightly using water-paper. Damp the surface slightly before sanding.
Sealing Leave the finished work to dry for 5 days and then seal using an appropriate sealer in accordance with its data sheet. We recommend : Weber Seal-it Gloss Sealer for a high gloss finish; or
Weber Seal-it Sandstone Tiles for a satin finish; or
Weber Protect-it Brick and Masonry for a matt finish
A sample area should be done to test the sealers before application as different sealing methods have an effect on the final colour. Please contact our Technical helpline on 0860 27 28 29 for information on the range of Weber sealers and sealing methods.
Mask all areas where there is a risk of splashing and staining and where straight edges are required. Masking tape must be removed before the material has dried.
Surface preparation The surface onto which Colour Silk will be applied : • must be sound, clean and free of any material which may impair adhesion • must be true in plane
New cement plaster The surface must be wood-floated and cured for 28 days. Ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, sound and free from dust, grease or any contamination that could impair bonding. The surface may be damped down using a mist spray just before application commences.
Acrylic painted surfaces

Sand the entire surface using 80 grit sandpaper. Be sure to remove all dust and loose material. Prime the surface using Weber Grippon and leave to dry.
New Rhinowall Re-inforcing the joints using Rhinotape Apply Rhinotape over the joints as per the Rhinowall data sheet. Prime the surface using Weber Grippon and leave to dry. Covering the joints using Colour Silk Apply Colour Silk over the joints and leave to dry overnight. Sand back the next day. Be sure to remove all dust and loose material.

Mixing ■ Combine 20kg of Colour Silk with 5 litres of clean water. ■ Mix thoroughly. ■ A small amount of water may be added if necessary.

These colour representations are as accurate as the printing process permits. It is advisable to view an actual product sample before a final choice is made.

Surface preparation for application onto Rhinowall
Prime the joint using Grippon
Immediately apply Rhinotape
Use a scraper to ensure that the Rhinotape is properly bedded
Mix Colour Silk to a stiff paste
Apply over the joint ensuring that the Rhinotape is covered Leave to dry overnight
Sand back the next day
Prime using Grippon and leave to dry
Apply Grippon to the entire wall and begin application immediately while the surface is tacky
Surface preparation for application onto acrylic painted surfaces
Sand the entire surface using 80 grit sandpaper Remove all dust and loose material
Apply Grippon to the entire wall and begin application immediately while the surface is tacky
Colour Silk application
Apply the first layer of Colour Silk by forcing the material tightly against the surface using a steel trowel
Follow immediately with a second layer to an application not exceeding 4mm Be sure to finish corners and other details
Leave to dry until firm
Damp down slightly
Pull straight by floating with a sponge trowel
Steel trowel immediately to smooth the surface Leave overnight to air cure
