BORN
Every classic Porsche has a story and the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge is where those legends are reborn. Dive into a nationwide competition where neglected icons are transformed, celebrated, and put to the ultimate test by the most passionate teams in the country.
AGAIN
NNow in its fifth year, the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge keeps the legacy of the Porsche origin story alive, breathing new life into some long neglected classics.
The Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge is an annual event founded by Porsche to showcase the expertise of Porsche Centers across the U.S., and promote the expansive classic parts catalog. Each year, participating Porsche Centers pick a classic Porsche road car from a model line that has been out of production for at least 10 years—from as far back as the 356, and as modern as a first-generation Cayenne or Type 997 911. The Porsche Center teams choose from three competition categories: Preservation, Restoration, and Individualization. The final products are evaluated by Porsche Club of America judges at their respective Area Championship event. While the restoration of the vehicle is a large part of the challenge, other criteria also factor into the final decision. “We want to highlight the journey of each Porsche Center participating in the Challenge,” Jonathan Sieber, Senior Manager of Porsche Classic
Porsche Englewood claimed the top honor of Grand National Champion with their 1985 911 backdate tribute car.
said. “So much of the scoring centers around highlighting the story of the restoration process. From the origin of the car, to the team working on the project, and the parts we manufacture to keep these vehicles on the road, we try to look at the whole picture.”
While the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge is about more than just the completed vehicle, the winners combine the best of both worlds, with excellent storytelling over social media, and exquisite restorations of the classics they’ve selected to work on. The 2024 winners highlighted cars across the country, with Porsche Englewood claiming the top honor of “Grand National Champion,” along with their “Individualization” category win for their 1985 911 backdate Steve McQueen tribute car. Porsche Louisville claimed the national “People’s Choice” award, along with their “Restoration” category win for their 1977 911 Turbo, and Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas claimed the “Preservation” win for their 1986 911—which involved converting what at first appeared to be a cabriolet back to its original Targa body. These projects are a major undertaking, yet many Porsche Centers battle each year for the chance of grabbing the coveted “Grand National Champion” title.
THE PORSCHE CLASSIC RESTORATION CHALLENGE KEEPS THE LEGACY OF THE PORSCHE ORIGIN STORY ALIVE, BREATHING NEW LIFE INTO SOME LONG NEGLECTED CLASSICS.
THESE PROJECTS ARE A MAJOR UNDERTAKING, YET MANY PORSCHE CENTERS BATTLE EACH YEAR FOR THE CHANCE OF GRABBING THE COVETED “GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPION” TITLE.
Porsche Tucson, a team that has competed in all five years of the competition, is known for not only claiming the “Individualization” victory at their Area Event, but also for starting with very neglected cars. “Last year’s car was a patchwork of parts from all over,” Neb Yonas, General Manager of Porsche Tucson said. “It sat under a tree in the desert for decades before we acquired it for the Challenge.” While others might not find mismatched panels and copious amounts of surface rust to be desirable, the team at Porsche Tucson knew it had “good bones” for their objective. “We did a full restoration of the vehicle, and styled it our way, with a complete custom interior refresh, and some mechanical upgrades.” Neb lovingly referred to the car as “Black Beauty,” a title fitting for a now stunning vehicle that is unrecognizable compared to the way it looked at the outset of the competition.

The situation for Porsche Minneapolis was quite the opposite. In 2024 they acquired a 356 they described as a “20 footer” as a Challenge entrant. “It looked decent from a short distance, but once you looked closer, you could see the cracks all around—quite literally,” Michael Lamm, Classic Manager and Shop Foreman of Porsche Minneapolis said. Upon further inspection, it was evident that the “restoration” that had been done roughly two decades ago was far from what the vehicle deserved. “Back then, these cars weren’t worth nearly as much as what they’re going for now. They didn’t see the value in making repairs the correct way, which is how we found ourselves dealing with caked on Bondo, leaving chunks of paint covered filler falling off every time we opened the hood.” Determined to give this car a second chance that few would or could provide, the team accepted the difficulties this build included. “We had to undo a lot of bad work from its previous life, but the end result was well worth it.” The crowd agreed and awarded it the Area People’s Choice Award for the hard work and craftsmanship that brought this car to like-new condition once more.
With the 2025 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge currently underway, there are tons of excellent updates under the #porschechallenge25 tag across social media. Follow along for the journey, and find out who will take home the Grand National Champion award in the largest showcase to date.

LAMBORGHINI V12: ALWAYS IN STYLE
It’s big, loud, painfully thirsty and hugely expensive, but there’s nothing like a V12 engine from Sant’Agata.
WORDS : Kyle Hyatt
Fashion is a fickle thing. Trends come and go, new becomes old and then becomes new all over again, but then there are classics that never seem to go out of style. Shoes from Church’s, a watch from Vacheron Constantin, sunglasses from Persol, or a bespoke suit from Huntsman. The V12 engine is a lot like those items. It’s exclusive, expensive and beloved for a reason and, in a world where the trend is smaller engines with turbochargers or hybrid systems, the Lamborghini V12 remains a bastion of true automotive style.
THE BIZZARRINI V12
From the brand’s very beginning, it offered a V12 engine and has always had one in its best and most exclusive models. Lamborghini is so tied to the V12 that it kept its first engine design in production (albeit with modifications and a parade of displacement increases) from 1963 all the way through to 2010 and the Murciélago.
This engine, bearing the creative moniker “Lamborghini V12” was designed by the legend, Giotto Bizzarrini under his Società Autostar company. For the uninitiated, Mr. Bizzarrini – who we lost in 2023 at the ripe age of 96 – is arguably best known for being the main engineering mind behind the original 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO’s engine and chassis. He went on to do a number of things, including building American V8-powered cars bearing his own name.
Bizzarrini’s original V12 engine design for Lamborghini was a peaky, high-strung 3.5-liter unit producing a claimed 320 horsepower that shared an ethos with the racing V12s that he’d developed for the folks in Modena. Ferrucio initially promised to pay Bizzarrini a bounty for every horsepower over what Ferrari’s Columbo V12 made, which in pre-four-cam trim and with 3.3-liters of displacement peaked at 296 hp.
Sure, this sounds like a sweet deal, but when Signor Lamborghini didn’t find the race-derived engine to his liking (he wanted something better suited for grand touring) he simply refused to pay Bizzarrini for any of the work. The Italian courts eventually forced Lamborghini to pay for the engine design, and the engine stayed in production for most of the next half-century.
The production version of the 3.5-liter produced 280 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 240 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm in the 350GT, but got bumped way up to 380 hp in 1966 with the introduction of the 400GT, but lost some power when it went transverse in the Miura, down to 345 hp.
Fast forward a few years and iterations, and fuel injection comes into the picture with the American market version of the Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole and its 5.2-liter engine. Like many European companies at the time, it used Bosch K-Jetronic in an effort to clean up the big lump’s emissions for an increasingly strict but

incredibly lucrative US market. It made a still-bananasfor-the-era 414 hp, but the carbureted Euro version without smog control made 449 hp.
The engine really entered the modern era with the advent of the Diablo in 1990. The engine’s displacement once again got increased to 5.7 liters, and this time it got more modern, computer-controlled multi-point injection in place of the basically-a-firehose-of-gasoline K-Jetronic system. This meant that output also went up, this time to 485 hp and, arguably more importantly, 428 pound-feet. This real torque makes the Diablo a surprisingly easy car to drive, relative to other wring-its-neck-for-power V12s. The Diablo ended in 2001 with the Diablo 6.0 VT SE that had, as you might surmise, a 6.0-liter version of the engine. This made a whopping 567 hp at 7,300 rpm and 465 pound-feet.
The last hurrah for the Bizzarrini V12 came with the Murcielago and its 6.2-liters of displacement. More is better, but the 200-cc increase didn’t equate to much improvement in peak numbers, with the Murci making 572 hp to start and 479 pound-feet. Things got a bit spicier when the LP variants of the Murcielago debuted, with the final 6.5-liter variant making 661 hp all the way up at 8,000 rpm. Torque remained largely unchanged with 487 pound-feet.
From there, the corporate 12-cylinder got an overhaul courtesy of the brand’s corporate overlords at Audi, but rather than lose personality, the Lamborghini V12 gained competence, refinement and a good deal of horsepower.
THE AUDI YEARS
The Aventador, which debuted for the 2012 model year, represented a real turning point for the brand, with its carbon fiber chassis and new drivetrain. The L539 V12, as it was known internally, displaced 6.5-liters and produced 770 hp in its final version as seen in the Aventador Ultimae.
The engine was brilliant, with excellent response and fantastic power as well as sound, but the sad fact that Lamborghini paired it with a Graziano single-clutch paddle-shifted gearbox that was so bad at everything that the only transmission I can think of which is worse was the CVT in the original Smart ForTwo! Yeah, that bad… When the Aventador bowed out and the hybrid supercars started to take over, many feared that Lamborghini would move away from the shrieking, angry 12-cylinder in favor of a smaller, turbocharged powerplant like its archenemies from Modena did. But then the Revuelto debuted for 2024, and, with a collective sigh of relief, enthusiasts were treated to what is arguably
the brand’s best V12 to-date.
The L545 is a 6.5-liter masterpiece of an engine that makes its peak 814 horsepower at a stratospheric 9,250 rpm and a perfectly respectable 535 pound-feet of torque at 6,750 rpm – where many more pedestrian car engines run into their redline. It’s a furious, joyous thing that springs to life with an absolutely savage bark and drinks fuel like no engine I’ve ever experienced. Everything about it is a celebration of internal combustion and the slightly unhinged ethos that’s driven Lamborghini since Ferrucio’s famous spat with Il Commendatore all those long decades ago.
While Lamborghini’s V12 engine (much like the company itself) has grown bigger, more powerful and more refined over the years, it’s never lost that inherent feeling of being truly special and it has never failed to make a drive – any drive, no matter how banal – into an event. It’s this magic trick and the fact that it laughs in the face of trends, no matter how pervasive, which ensures that the Lamborghini V12 engine is never going out of style.
IN A WORLD WHERE THE TREND IS SMALLER ENGINES WITH TURBOS OR HYBRIDS, THE LAMBORGHINI V12 REMAINS A BASTION OF TRUE AUTOMOTIVE STYLE.

BMW ART ATTACK
The BMW Art Car program began with French racing driver and art enthusiast Hervé Poulain, who invited his friend, renowned artist Alexander Calder, to transform his 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL race car into a moving canvas. With the support of Jochen Neerpasch, then head of BMW Motorsport, the first BMW Art Car was born – and quickly became a fan favorite on the track. Since that pioneering moment, BMW has added to the collection at select intervals, commissioning singular works from celebrated artists including Andy Warhol, David Hockney, and Jeff Koons.

BENTLEY HERITAGE REIMAGINED
From a stately brass staircase to the provocative EXP 15 concept, Bentley’s expanded design studio honors its storied past while embracing a daring, light-driven vision for the marque’s future.
WORDS : Basem Wasef
There was a lengthy expanse of time – between 1931 and 1998 to be exact – that Bentley Motors and Rolls-Royce were cleaved together as essentially the same company. Despite the forced business circumstances, the Flying B brand’s true identity is inextricably linked to its geographical home in Crewe where the 106-year-old carmaker has been based since 1939.
Design philosophy is crucial to any brand’s identity, let alone ultra-premium marques, and the recent expansion and renovation of Bentley’s design center speaks as much to the carmaker’s past as it does its future intentions. Respecting legacy while embracing modernity is no cakewalk, and Bentley’s freshly overhauled design studio straddles both through a single architectural gesture: a symmetrical brass staircase that presents a visual centerpiece just beyond the building’s refreshed façade. The restored steps offer a stately nod to history for the first two flights and now continue with a modernized staircase that trades the ornate details for minimalist stone, metal and glass.
Those modernist themes extend to the building’s new spaces where around 50 designers are responsible for crafting, hewing, and forming the materials, silhouettes,
and je ne sais quoi that will define future Bentleys. The building’s new workspaces feature far more natural light bathing optic white design areas. A new rooftop feature that enables evaluation of vehicle mockups in daylight – that is, assuming British weather cooperates.
As always, the designer’s goal is to create something so visually desirable that owners can’t help but glance back at their six-figure cars as they walk away. But if the just-revealed EXP 15 concept is any indication, Bentley also isn’t afraid of a bit of provocation along the way. Unlike sensual explorations like 2019’s EXP100GT or 2016’s EXP 12 Speed 6e, the EXP 15 is big and brutalist, sharp and menacing. Gone are Bentley signatures like a jewelry-like grille, replaced with backlit surfaces representing air intakes. “Light is the new chrome,” proclaims Bentley Design Director Robin Page, suggesting that the old shiny standby has no place in cars of the future.
The new design center’s updated architecture certainly seems to accommodate out-of-the-box ideas like sculpting grilles out of photons, not to mention embracing virtual demonstrations of interior space and all the ancillary newfangled approaches that go with it. Tradition hasn’t entirely caved due to innovation either, as evidenced by the inspiration behind the EXP 15’s interior layout overall proportion: the remarkable “Blue Train” Bentley, a one-off
Speed Six Gurney Nutting Coupé which famously raced, and beat, the train that ran from Cannes to Calais at the hands of then-CEO Woolf Barnato. Sure, the EXP 15 also claims other hat tips to the past like a leather bonnet strap, silk jacquard interior upholstery and wool sourced from the 250-year-old Fox Brothers mill.
Change being an inevitability in all worlds, especially that of vehicle design, means Bentley’s new building will also be responsible for innovations the likes of which have yet to be seen. For instance, designers have implemented materials like so-called Acrylic Couture which leverages a woven metal mesh and surfaces acting as substrates for titanium strips which are 3D printed. Other areas of research include multimedia interfaces which incorporate moving physical components and vivid touchscreens which display scenes captured with analogue cameras. The effect is a curious combination of old and new that brings a breath of life into interior spaces which would otherwise feel sterile.
While the EXP 15 is only a styling and technological exercise, it is entirely possible that elements of it could end up in a future Bentley product. As head of color, material and finish, Maria Mulder says, “We’re always looking for what’s next.”

FEROCIOUS BEAUTY
Aston Martin’s new Vanquish Volante packs a hand-built V12, world-beating performance, and elegant open-air design that redefines the modern grand tourer.
WORDS : Charles Bradley
How can something beautiful be capable of being so brutal? That’s the dichotomy of the 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante; this breathtaking and luxurious sight is an absolute monster in terms of performance. The fastest and most powerful front-engine production car on sale, it even surpasses Ferrari’s 12Cilindri by a handful of horsepower. And this stunning convertible variant can deliver absolute fury on demand.
Parked outside Aston Martin’s Q New York flagship showroom, my designated Volante shimmers in Satin Aluminite Silver, its tone shifting from molten alloy to matte gray depending on the sunlight that’s flickering off the skyscrapers. The Vanquish marks the fourth model in Aston’s recent product renaissance, following the Vantage, DB12, and DBX707. But while those rely on V8s, the Vanquish unleashes something far more dramatic: a brand-new, hand-built V12 with a five-year development pedigree to top its front-engined range.
“It is all about this engine; it really does define the driving experience,” says Simon Newton, Aston Martin’s Vehicle Attribute & Performance Director. “Aston recognized that they wanted to continue the V12 legacy and invested heavily in developing a unit significantly more powerful and refined.”
And how. This third-generation Vanquish features a 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12, producing an astonishing 824 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. That’s nearly double the 420 hp of the 2000
DB7 Vantage Volante, which debuted Aston’s V12 format. The new engine reaches peak torque at just 2,500 rpm and maintains it to 5,000, enabling a 0-60 mph sprint in 3.3 seconds, plus a top speed of 214 mph.
Beyond numbers, the Vanquish Volante is a visual masterpiece. Its long hood, shark-like nose, and aggressive grille channel power and grace. Two carbon-fiber engine vents extract heat from that brutal V12 below, while deep side sculpting and wide rear haunches create a muscular silhouette.
“The length of the hood is part of the drama,” explains Marek Reichman, AM’s Chief Creative Officer. “It emphasizes the dashto-axle ratio, the stance, the power. The flaring at the rear shows the prowess of the Volante. It’s athletic and elegant in equal measure.”
Styling cues like the triangular carbon-fiber side strake – inspired by the DBR1 Le Mans winner – signal the car’s intent. So does the reaction from bystanders. Within minutes of leaving the showroom, a cop leans in as I’m motionless in traffic: “This the V12, right?” he inquires, and then nods approvingly. Everyone notices, valets give the thumbs up. When it comes to this car, New York cares.
Once clear of the city, the Vanquish transforms from luxury cruiser to feral predator. In GT mode, it glides through its eightspeed ZF automatic gearbox. But select Sport or Sport+ mode, and

throttle response sharpens dramatically. Even with a brief turbo lag, this car explodes forward with astonishing force, sounding every bit like a V12 grand tourer should. And there’s no hybrid voodoo involved here – just a visceral potency on tap via your right foot.
My drive turns to country roads, winding near Harriman State Park, and the Volante simply devours every corner. Carbon ceramic brakes also deliver stunning stopping power – especially useful when a police cruiser suddenly blocks the road due to a diversion. Ride quality is firm, but essential to manage the immense power on tap. Bilstein DTX dampers and carbon-fiber chassis bracing ensure body control remains taut, even without the aid of a solid roof above my head.
The roof mechanism, hidden roll bar safety system, and rear-mounted transmission help achieve perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The E-differential, borrowed from the Vanquish Coupe, transitions from open to fully locked in just 135 milliseconds, giving the car agility in tight corners. It works in tandem with an advanced Electronic Stability Programme, which effectively shortens the car’s wheelbase and enhances rotation. Traction is immense but not infallible; aggressive throttle inputs in lower gears will cause the TC to shout a hard ‘nope!’ But play by this car’s rules, and summon a little finesse with progressive power delivery, and the Vanquish is quite intoxicating to drive. Trail braking into apexes reveals compliant steering, and the car’s wide footprint doesn’t feel overly cumbersome, except in dense city traffic when jostling with those stubborn buses.
The roof, a lightweight K-fold fabric design, is as elegant as it is practical. It lowers in 14 seconds, raises in 16, and can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph. Even when stored, its low stack height maintains the Volante’s sleek profile. Raised, it actually enhances engine acoustics thanks to effective outside noise dampening.
Inside, the Vanquish Volante is a triumph of British craftsmanship. A true two-seater, this example features All Centenary Saddle Tan leather upholstery, machined aluminum switchgear, and a wondrously sculpted dashboard. Peripheral controls are run from a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay Ultra. The driving position is low and immersive, with every surface exuding bespoke quality.
There is a raft of colors to choose from (I hear green is the new silver, if you want to be on-trend) and personalization options seem virtually limitless. Through Aston Martin’s Q division, buyers can tailor every aspect, from carbon-fiber finishes to anodized rotary dials.
As many marques shift toward electrification and complexity, the 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is gloriously and defiantly analog. It blends world-class performance with timeless charisma, wrapped in a package that commands attention everywhere it goes. Fast, fierce, and phenomenally well-handcrafted, the Vanquish Volante is a bold statement from Aston Martin that beauty, emotion, and heritage still matter in our wonderful world of high-performance motoring.

SILKEN SPIRIT
A stunning new Bespoke trio from Rolls-Royce redefines the intersection of automotive design, couture craftsmanship, and cultural reverence.
WORDS : Charles Bradley
Through its Private Office Shanghai, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed a trio of one-of-one commissions inspired by Chinese art, fashion, and landscape. This exclusive release comprises the Phantom Extended, Black Badge Cullinan, and Black Badge Spectre – each infused with ancient symbolism and contemporary elegance. More than just customizations, these creations form a visual dialogue between tradition and innovation, East and West.
At the heart of the collection is Silken Spirit, a recurring design motif conceived by Rolls-Royce Bespoke designer Shuai Feng. Referencing the flowing elegance of the Spirit of Ecstasy and the heritage of imperial silk, the motif appears throughout all three vehicles, gracing everything from Starlight Headliners to treadplates and leather-wrapped Galleries.
This artistic trio draws its primary inspiration from the Dunhuang Mogao Caves, a sacred complex of Buddhist murals and sculptures carved into China’s Silk Road cliffs over a millennium ago. Their visual grandeur and spiritual symbolism have informed a distinctly modern reinterpretation. With color palettes, stitching, perforation, and marquetry echoing those hallowed halls, the collection bridges centuries of craftsmanship.
Phantom Extended: A Moving Mural
Perhaps the most regal of the three is the Phantom Extended, finished in a bespoke two-tone: Ningye Purple below the shoulder line and English White above. The violet shade is a poetic tribute to Tang Dynasty verse, inspired by the skies above the Great Wall of China. Along the C-pillar, the Silken Spirit motif is hand-painted, with its flowing form traced into the Grace White coachline.
Inside, the Phantom dazzles. A 1,344-star Starlight Headliner is complemented by 192 shooting stars, individually placed by hand. But the true focal point is the hand-painted Gallery, a black leather mural embroidered in white and black thread with celestial apsaras lifted from Dunhuang mythology.
The cabin is layered in Black and Cashmere Gray leathers, with opposing seat tones front-to-back for visual contrast. Piano Black and Cashmere Gray Canadel wood panels line the doors, while stainless-steel Silken Spirit inlays add a sculptural accent to the rear doors and waterfall console.
The Silken Spirit motif appears throughout all three vehicles, gracing everything from Starlight Headliners to treadplates and leather-wrapped Galleries.
Black Badge Cullinan: Statement in Stunning Pink
As bold as it is refined, the Black Badge Cullinan Series II arrives painted in Danqian Pink, a hue as rare as it is eyecatching. The 23-inch forged Black Badge wheels feature matching pink pinstripes, with the Silken Spirit delicately traced in black across the twin coachlines and C-pillars.
The front cabin is dressed in Blushing Pink leather, subtly perforated with a pattern inspired by the sky above Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood home. Each cloud-like design is composed of more than 107,000 perforations, highlighting the automaker’s attention to detail. In the rear compartment, Navy leather with Blushing Pink piping offers a contrasting, intimate mood.
A Technical Fiber fascia features a stainless-steel Silken Spirit between the seats, mirrored again on the floating console. Overhead, a Blushing Pink Starlight Headliner with a softly glowing Silken Spirit motif completes the space.
Black Badge Spectre: Rolling Expressionism
The first all-electric Rolls-Royce coupe receives a dramatic makeover in this commission. Its body is finished in Qingshan Blue – a rich, mineral-inspired color drawn from the vivid blues and greens found in Dunhuang mural art. The roof and upper body are clad in Diamond Black, with illuminated grille accents glowing in Turchese.
Inside, Spectre presents a vibrant dual-tone layout. The front seats are upholstered in Black and Turchese, while the rear reverses the scheme, adding white piping for a crisp visual boundary. Lambswool carpets and a split-tone center console reinforce the theme.
Starlight Doors, Turchese-illuminated treadplates, and a signature Starlight Headliner – again featuring 1,344 stars and 192 shooting stars – create an atmospheric cabin unlike anything else in luxury motoring.
With this Chinese Mural Art Bespoke Collection, Rolls-Royce has once again proven why it resides atop the world of luxury. Each commission transcends the notion of automotive design and enters the realm of high art, showcasing not only design expertise but cultural sensitivity, storytelling, and true artistic vision.
This Bespoke trio follows other standout fashion-led collaborations from the marque, including Phantom Syntopia, designed with couture visionary Iris van Herpen; the Phantom Oribe, co-created by Hermès; and Iridescent Opulence, a substantive expression of art, design and engineering excellence.
In terms of heritage, fashion, and design innovation, these commissions signal a statement for the Bespoke program – one that invites deeper collaborations with global artistic traditions, rendered at the highest level of craftsmanship.
The Phantom Extended is finished in a bespoke two-tone: Ningye Purple below the shoulder line and English White above.

FASHION FERRARI FORWARD
From Maranello to Milan, Ferrari’s transformation into a luxury fashion powerhouse spells a bold new era for the Prancing Horse, which leverages its legendary sports cars and racing heritage.
WORDS : Charles Bradley
FERRARI IS NO LONGER JUST A CARMAKER, BUT NOW A PLAYER IN THE LUXURY FASHION WORLD WITH SEASONAL SHOWS UNDERSCORING ITS COUTURE AMBITION.
Ferrari’s bold foray into the world of fashion is more than a side project, it’s a clear repositioning of the fabled marque. As one of the most iconic names in automotive performance and prestige, the Prancing Horse is embracing its next evolution – a luxury lifestyle brand that stands shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Hermès, LVMH and Armani.
In today’s Ferrari, horsepower is matched with haute couture, and racing pedigree now walks together with runway appeal. The shift reflects a strategic broadening of the brand’s identity, appealing not just to collectors and driving purists, but to style-conscious next-gen buyers seeking more than a badge – they’re seeking a whole Ferrari lifestyle.
Gone are the days when Ferrari-logoed gear was limited to watches, luggage, or T-shirts. The brand’s latest fashion initiatives are elevated expressions of design, craftsmanship and exclusivity. These e orts are no longer merchandising plays; they are sophisticated cultural extensions that grow brand equity far beyond the showroom or racetrack.
The groundwork for this shift was laid more than a decade ago. The late Sergio Marchionne, who sadly passed in 2018, was Ferrari’s visionary CEO who imagined a brand whose influence extended beyond Maranello. That vision gained momentum under successor Louis Camilleri, who in 2019 unveiled a long-term partnership with Giorgio Armani. The move brought sartorial elegance to Ferrari’s o cial team attire and opened the door to deeper fashion integration.
By 2021, Ferrari launched its own in-house ready-to-wear collection under the creative direction of Rocco Iannone, whose résumé includes Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. The debut show in Maranello featured unisex silhouettes, sharp tailoring, and legendary Ferrari colorways – Rosso Corsa, Giallo Modena – executed in technical fabrics that fused motorsport DNA with high fashion flair. It marked a defining moment: Ferrari was no longer just a carmaker, but now a player in the luxury fashion world. Its seasonal fashion shows, now fixtures of Milan Fashion Week, further underscore the brand’s creative ambition.
“Ferrari is pure energy, and in my work I strive to capture that energy, bringing it to life through fabric and silhouettes,” said Iannone. “Whenever I begin working on a collection, I seek emotion. Fashion transcends aesthetics. It’s a connection, a heartbeat, a feeling sparked not just by the design but by the experience it creates.
“Beauty is the pleasure that derives from speed, captured in its initial burst, in its full symbolic and design potential. It is the movement that stems from an idea, the aesthetic that captures the uniqueness of the transient, the sign of what is about to take place”

Gone are the days when Ferrari-logoed gear was limited to watches, luggage, or T-shirts.
U.S.-based Ferrari Stores have opened in Miami’s Aventura Mall, and East Rutherford in New Jersey, while a dedicated online platform offers everything from apparel and collectibles to Montblanc writing instruments and even official historical Formula 1 components – such as an original camshaft of the legendary Ferrari F2003-GA, winner of the 2003 Formula 1 World Championship.
One of Ferrari’s most compelling recent moves is its collaboration with F1 driver Charles Leclerc. Known as much for his keen fashion sense as his racing prowess, Monaco-born Leclerc co-designed on a limited-edition lifestyle capsule collection with Iannone, and Charles chose colors, headwear types (including his beloved beanies), and leather tags.
Launched at Monte Carlo’s Fairmont Hotel in May, the Ferrari x Charles Leclerc range showcases tailored denim, performance parkas, sneakers, and street-ready hoodies – alongside quirky touches like a $3,500 cotton jumpsuit and a pet accessory kit that includes a collar, leash and cashmere jumper for small dogs – after all, his adopted mini longhaired dachshund Leo needs to dress well too!
“Authenticity was essential for me,” said Leclerc. “I’ve always loved fashion and design. I wanted something that felt true to who I am and how I live. I travel nearly every day for races, and I always carry my jewelry, watches, helmet, and, of course, my clothes.”
At the same time as its fashion expansion, Ferrari of course remains firmly rooted in the motorsport world that made it a global icon. Scuderia Ferrari’s 20-year partnership with Puma continues to produce high-performance team gear, lifestyle sneakers, and limited-edition racewearinspired apparel.
Eyewear too plays a pivotal role in Ferrari’s style arsenal, thanks to a long-standing collaboration with Ray-Ban – which is now owned by EssilorLuxottica. Launched in 2016, the Ferrari x Ray-Ban collection blends cutting-edge materials with F1-inspired design, offering bold takes on timeless silhouettes like the Aviator and Wayfarer. Together, these initiatives reflect a deliberate, high-level strategy. Ferrari is no longer just selling cars, or racing them around the world, it’s curating a world of luxury items to complement them. From couture to carbon fiber, the brand continues to redefine what it means to live the Ferrari lifestyle.

ELEGANT. ICONIC. EFFORTLESS.
WINDERMERE, FLORIDA Tucked behind the gates of one of Central Florida’s most exclusive golf communities, 9905 Lanai View Court is the kind of estate that makes you pause. Nearly 7,000 square feet of single-level, custom-crafted living plus more than 800 square feet private media room on the second floor. Every detail intentional. Every space elevated.
Set on almost three-quarters of an acre, this Stonebridge-built masterpiece merges classic elegance with the kind of indoor-outdoor living that defines Florida luxury. Think: expansive travertine floors, warm wood textures, and a seamless flow from light-filled interiors to an outdoor oasis made for entertaining.
The heart of the home? A chef’s kitchen worthy of its name—Sub-Zero, Thermador, Electrolux—all the names you expect, plus a breakfast bar for eight that says, this is where weekends begin. Around the corner, a wine cellar, a card/media room, a game room with builtin bar...this house plays just as hard as it lives. But the showstopper? Step outside.
A custom bird-shaped saltwater pool, sprawling screened-in terrace, and a fully loaded summer kitchen—full-size fridge, grill, range, dishwasher, bar seating—all under cover and designed to entertain year-round. Whether it’s cocktails at sunset or brunch after golf, the vibe is effortless sophistication.
The layout is thoughtful, too: five bedrooms, all on the main level, separated for privacy. The primary suite is its own retreat with a wet bar, built-in workstation, and a spa-like en-suite bath that feels more five-star resort than residential.
With an oversized 4-car garage, a large driveway, and a golf cart bay in the garage, there’s planty of space for your toys.
Located in Keenes Pointe, with 24-hour guard-gated security, private access to the Golden Bear Club’s Jack Nicklaus-designed course, and the Butler Chain of Lakes just minutes away, this home offers not only privacy—but prestige.
Downtown Orlando, world-class dining, top private schools, and theme parks are all within easy reach. But when you’re here, you might just forget you’re anywhere near the city.

WORDS : Tyler Rampersaud

OWN THE ULTIMATE PLAYGROUND
RRockingham Speedway, known as “The Rock,” is now available for acquisition—a rare opportunity to own one of North Carolina’s most iconic motorsports and entertainment properties. Spanning 250 acres in Richmond County, the property is ideally located within 90 miles of over 12 million people across Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro, and just 20 miles from Pinehurst Golf Course. Fully equipped to host high-capacity events, the facility includes seating for over 25,000 spectators and parking for more than 10,000 vehicles. Complete sitewide ABC permits allow for alcohol sales across the entire venue, making it ideal for both motorsport and festival use. With more than $12 million invested in infrastructure upgrades over the last three years, Rockingham recently returned to the national stage by hosting its first major NASCAR event in two decades.
Significant recent improvements make this a turnkey property for race series, large-scale events, or entertainment investors. The Big Rock oval has been fully repaved, the infield road course expanded and resurfaced, and the core infrastructure—including suites, pit garages, media center, fiber optics, lighting, and audio/video systems—extensively modernized. The property features 18 permanent buildings with several hundred thousand square feet of operational space, including core suites, wing suites, a hospital, garages, and a media center. With efforts underway to secure NASCAR races for 2026 and 2027, the property is well-positioned to reemerge as a premier destination on the national racing circuit.
Unique to The Rock is its exemption from all noise ordinances, 24/7/365—making it the ideal venue for music festivals, endurance racing, and overnight events. The site has already proven itself as a festival powerhouse, having hosted 100,000 attendees during the 2019 Epicenter Festival weekend. Additionally, the property now qualifies to partner with a licensed Sports Wagering Operator, creating a path to secure North Carolina’s ninth wagering license. In 2024 alone, the eight approved wagering licensees generated over $6 billion in paid revenue. Between its prime location, updated facilities, revenue potential, and future event prospects, Rockingham Speedway presents a oneof-a-kind investment opportunity for those ready to take the wheel.

WORDS : Ed Jones
duPont REGISTRY: How does your dealership differentiate itself from others in the luxury car market?
Ferrari of Central New Jersey: Becoming part of the Ferrari family was a lifelong dream. When the opportunity to acquire the dealership came in 2019, we embraced it wholeheartedly. Ferrari is not only the most iconic brand in the automotive world but also one of the most revered names in the realm of ultra-luxury. We consider our dealership the crown jewel within our family of stores. As stewards of a brand that will far outlast us, we approach everything we do with reverence and responsibility.
dR: Which models are currently your top sellers, and what makes them resonate with your clients?
FCNJ: The Ferrari Purosangue has redefined what a luxury performance vehicle can be. As Ferrari’s first four-door utility vehicle, it appeals to clients who demand both functionality and uncompromised performance. It delivers everyday usability while retaining the spirit and DNA that make Ferrari so distinctive.
dR: Can you share the story behind one of the most unique or rare vehicles you’ve sold?
FCNJ: One of the most memorable vehicles we’ve delivered is the Daytona SP3 with a fully exposed carbon fiber body. It showcases Ferrari’s absolute commitment to performance, artistry, and innovation. Vehicles like this are not simply cars. They are rolling masterpieces that reflect the pinnacle of automotive design and engineering.
dR: How do you create a truly memorable buying experience for your clients?
FCNJ: At Ferrari of Central New Jersey, we go beyond the transaction. For our clients, purchasing a Ferrari is a journey. From the first consultation to the final delivery, we curate every step with attention to detail and personal care. During the customization and build process, which can take several months, we maintain regular communication to update clients and build anticipation. When the vehicle finally arrives, we make it an event. We serve champagne, host family and friends, and celebrate the achievement together. Ferrari ownership should be unforgettable, and we make sure it feels that way.
dR: What trends are you noticing in the luxury car market, and how are they shaping your strategy?
FCNJ: There is growing enthusiasm for performance-driven innovation, especially around hybrid and electric technologies. Clients are increasingly seeking advanced engineering, safety features, and sustainability without sacrificing performance or prestige. We also continue to see Ferrari as a powerful symbol of achievement. For many, it represents the culmination of years of hard work and ambition. These emotional connections are deeply important to our clients and central to how we present the brand.
dR: How has the profile of your typical buyer evolved in recent years?
FCNJ: There has been a clear generational shift. While Ferrari has always attracted discerning buyers, we are seeing more clients in their 40s realize this dream earlier in life. This reflects a broader cultural change in how success is measured and celebrated.

When the only Enzo to have been produced by the Ferrari factory in white went to auction, it helped change the game for special-order colors.
WORDS : Andrew Riedell
For the last 15 or so years, special exterior paint colors have been ‘in’. The Porsche vernacular for special-order color, ‘paint to sample’ or ‘PTS’, has become fashionable lingo among car enthusiasts, and wild shades are celebrated across seemingly all makes today in a market that is relentlessly searching for uniqueness. This enthusiasm extends to models from every era – let’s start with the modern day.
I looked at auction results over the past year for manual examples of the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring which recently ended production (992.1 generation). Paint to sample was available for this model for about $12.8k over the $161.1k MSRP. With rare-color culture proliferating so much, 24 out of the 37 cars sold at auction over the last year wore PTS shades from the factory.
Despite this ready availability of special-order GT3 Tourings, PTS cars have been selling used well above examples in standardpalette colors. The average PTS sale has been $300k, with the average standard-palette sale at $263k. Adjusting these results for like-for-like mileage, PTS cars have been selling for a $43k premium over standard-palette cars – more than triple the cost of the option.
Furthermore, the top 13 sales were all of PTS examples, and the highest PTS sale exceeded the highest standard-palette sale by 43%! What’s interesting here is that this model was built new
during rare-color mania with the option at an attainable premium, and by consequence there is plenty of availability on the secondary market – and buyers still support a sizeable value differential in favor of PTS examples.
Things get even more interesting when we consider cars built at a time when custom colors weren’t as prevalent. Ferrari built 498 Enzo supercars between 2002 and 2004, and fewer than twenty were produced in a special-order color outside of the standard five (red, yellow, silver, gray, and black). In 2022, RM Sotheby’s offered, via sealed bid, the only Enzo to have been produced by the factory in white. The car sold for multiple millions more than the market average at the time, which was about $3.1m.
Going farther back in time, let’s look at the BMW M1, produced 1978-1981. Standing out against a sea of black, white, and red cars that make up the bulk of the 399 produced, the top two highest public sales ever feature gray and silver examples. The gray car, one of four, and the Polaris silver car, one of one, sold in recent years for 62% and 36%, respectively, over the model’s market average.
With the rare-color premium existing across eras in a market so hungry for unique colors, some sellers have resprayed cars to an uncommon shade to draw attention and seek bigger sales. These attempts are inconsistent, and usually fruitless, as buyers typically prefer factory-correct specifications. Other white Enzos exist due to repaints, but nobody in the industry would value one alongside the factory original.
Recently in the UK, there was on offer a Porsche Carrera GT recommissioned in PTS Vesuvio, an official Porsche shade of purple that retroactively made the car a pseudo one-of-one. Despite Porsche GB handling the respray itself, the car sold only after several months on offer and a hefty price cut.
This value preference for factory color also works in reverse. Late last year, a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ Coupe was offered in dilapidated condition out of the Rudi Klein junkyard collection. A rare, alloy-bodied example, the result stunned many when the car sold for $9.4m, several million more than the $5-7m expected for excellent-condition alloy 300 SLs.
This example was silver at the time of the sale but was the only alloy example originally produced in black. Its contemporary color did not stop its factory specification from boosting its value, and once this car gets inevitably restored to its original color, the owner has the right to claim the only genuine black alloy 300 SL.
These price deltas for unique colors clearly span across cars from multiple eras but exist within the more recent landscape of collector car market trends. For a long time, uniqueness wasn’t so appreciated. If you look back at special sports and exotic cars from the 1950s and 1960s, you see a wide variety of colors all over the spectrum – lime green Lamborghini Miuras, light pink Ford Mustangs, and chocolate-brown Porsches. Following that was a long stretch of time where such colors disappeared from showrooms, and
an idea blossomed that a sports car needed to be red.
In the 1970s, the concept of ‘resale red’ arrived – the practice of Ferrari owners repainting their non-red Ferraris red to boost resale values. This practice only increased into the 1980s, and at that point Ferrari even offered its 288 GTO and F40 supercars only in red – a reality few buyers seemed to have a problem with. Factory color variety across the Lamborghini Countach, Porsche 911 Turbo, and BMW M1 similarly was narrowing heavily towards red, black, and white cars.
This constraint lasted into the 2000s, when Pagani, Koenigsegg, and VW-era Bugatti moved into the mainstream of the supercar market with more bespoke offerings, and Lamborghini and Ferrari both introduced buyer customization services to address growing demand. This closed a 30-year window of heavy uniformity – an era that subsequently offers today’s market some of the most celebrated finds of truly rare colors.
It’s interesting to consider what would happen if the culture shifts to another era of this type. Will we ever again see the day of ‘resale red’, perhaps in a different color this time? Will the extravagant PTS colors of today, beloved now, be seen as silly mistakes later, needing to be covered with another color of paint to sell on in a few decades?
Predicting fashion is a fool’s errand, but right now at least uniqueness is en vogue.
Once this Mercedes ‘Gullwing’ gets inevitably restored to its original color, the owner has the right to claim the only genuine black alloy 300 SL.
