Good afternoon and welcome back to Tannadice.
Tuesday night’s win over Spartans secured our place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup, and while the circumstances made it more difficult than we would have liked, the key objective was achieved.
Playing most of the match with ten men demanded resilience and discipline from the players, and they responded well to get the result we needed.
Our focus now returns to the league and another very important game this afternoon. Back-to-back victories have given us momentum, but we know we must keep building if we are to achieve our aims before the split.
Every match is significant at this stage, and the challenge is to maintain standards and take maximum points whenever possible.
Kilmarnock arrive in improved form and deserve our respect, but we also believe we are in a good place and should take confidence from recent performances.
With your continued support behind us, we look forward to the challenge and to pushing for another positive result today.
Your support is vital as always. Enjoy the game!

Progressing to the quarterfinals of the Scottish Cup was a huge result for us and something the whole squad is really pleased about.
It was frustrating for me personally to pick up the suspension that means I will miss the next round, but I was glad to contribute with a goal and help the team get through.
As an attacking player, you always want to score and assist, so it was a good feeling to play my part on the night.
Now the focus is on building momentum. We have two good wins behind us and we want to make it three in a row.
Playing at Tannadice is always something we look forward to and the aim is clear every time we step onto our own pitch - to take three points.
Kilmarnock are in better form than the last time we faced them, so we know it will be a difficult game, but it is one we are ready for.
Since coming to Dundee United I feel I have developed a lot. The league is very competitive and physical, and that has pushed me to improve different aspects of my game week by week.
The club and staff have given me great support and confidence to express myself and play to my strengths.
As a group, our target remains the same. We are fighting every game to push ourselves into the top six, and we know that strong performances and results now are essential if we are to achieve that goal.

Kilmarnock arrive at Tannadice on league business for the second time this season.
Kilmarnock opened the season in spectacular fashion, with only champions Celtic defeating them, in controversial circumstances, during their opening thirteen fixtures.
In late September, after a 2-0 win at Tannadice, Killie sat seventh, just two points off third spot. However, an alarming slump in form followed and

they now occupy the dreaded play-off place, having won just two of their last 21 matches.
With fifteen goals conceded in their last five outings, and three of their remaining pre-split fixtures against top-six sides, the men from Ayrshire will need to tighten up defensively to stay on the coattails of St Mirren and Dundee.
Appointed in early January, the Greenock-born 51-year-old has overseen seven matches, recording two wins, one draw and four defeats, including a Scottish Cup exit to Dundee. He began his playing career at Dundee before moving to Hearts, where he won the 1997/98 Scottish Cup. Rangers signed the left winger in December 1998 and he collected nine major honours during almost five years at Ibrox before a move
to Southampton. Injuries then curtailed his career, with a return to Hearts followed by spells at Falkirk and Dundee prior to retiring at 36 with 26 Scotland caps. After coaching roles at Dunfermline and Dundee, where he was manager from 2017 to 2018, plus a brief interim spell at Inverness CT, he returned to management this season, taking charge of Kilmarnock following Stuart Kettlewell’s departure.
KELLE ROOS - Goalkeeper Kelle Roos has joined on loan from Notts County until the end of the season.
A youth product of PSV Eindhoven, Willem II and NEC Nijmegen, the 6ft 5in Dutchman began his senior career with Nuneaton Town before Derby County paid £30,000 for the former Netherlands Under-17 international.
A series of loans away from Pride Park preceded a move to Pittodrie, where Roos made 90 appearances across two seasons before departing for Italian side Triestina.

Congolese international AARON TSHIBOLA is in his fourth spell at Kilmarnock after back-to-back loans from Aston Villa between 2017 and 2019 and a permanent stint during the 2020/21 season.
The 31-year-old defensive midfielder has enjoyed a well-travelled career across Europe and the Middle East, featuring in Belgium, Portugal, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece and the United Arab Emirates, bringing significant experience and physical presence to the Rugby Park midfield.

After six years at Manchester United, striker JOE HUGILL penned an eighteen-month deal at Rugby Park last month.
The 22-year-old featured nine times in the EFL Trophy for the Red Devils’ Under-21s before making the move north, and he made an immediate impact by opening his Kilmarnock account last weekend.

A versatile and inform attacker, Tyreece John-Jules has quickly become a key figure in Kilmarnock’s forward line since arriving at Rugby Park.
Coming through the ranks at Arsenal, he reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2018 and was named on the bench for the 2020 Community Shield against Liverpool.
Loans to Lincoln City, Doncaster Rovers, Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday followed, before productive spells with Ipswich Town and Derby County saw him help both clubs secure promotion from League One.
Capped by England at every youth level from Under-16 to Under-21, John-Jules joined Crawley Town after leaving Arsenal in 2024 and made 27 appearances for the Sussex side.

A move north to Kilmarnock last October has proven fruitful, forming an effective partnership with Bruce Anderson.
Able to operate across the front line or in an advanced midfield role, the 25-year-old has struck eight times in 13 starts plus six substitute outings.
He picked up a knock against Celtic last week and will face a late fitness test ahead of today’s match.

Peter Canero’s career is most closely associated with Kilmarnock, where he emerged from the youth ranks to enjoy the most productive spell of his playing days.
Born in Glasgow in January 1981 and of Spanish descent through his grandfather, he joined Killie as a YTS trainee in 1998 and progressed impressively through the academy system.
By 2001 he had established himself as a first-team regular, initially as an attacking full-back before showing his adaptability with accomplished displays in midfield.
Blessed with pace and stamina, he quickly became a key figure and earned Scotland Under-21 recognition, setting a club record for appearances at that level by a Kilmarnock player.
His first senior goal arrived at Hampden in a 3-0 League Cup semi-final victory over St Mirren in February 2002, and his consistent performances soon drew interest from higher-profile clubs.
After making 130 appearances and scoring 11 goals for the Rugby Park side, he secured a £250,000 move to Leicester City in January 2004.
Shortly after arriving in England, Canero won his full Scotland cap as a substitute against Denmark in Copenhagen. Injuries, however, hampered his progress at Leicester.
Hip and knee problems delayed his debut until March 2004, and although he featured in around half of the remaining Premiership fixtures that season, he struggled to establish himself the following campaign.
After only six further appearances and recurring fitness issues, he was released by mutual consent in July 2005.
Canero joined Dundee United in September 2005 on a short-term contract under Gordon Chisholm, who valued his versatility and experience at the top level.
Despite that involvement, he opted not to extend his stay and instead agreed a four-year move to MLS side New York/ New Jersey MetroStars at the end of 2005.
A knee injury sustained late in his United tenure followed him to the United States, restricting him to just two appearances before persistent problems forced his retirement in 2006, aged only 25.
Alongside his senior cap, Canero represented Scotland at every youth level from Under-15 to Under-21 and also earned three Scotland B international caps.

He debuted against Hibernian at Easter Road and scored in his second outing, netting in a 2-0 home win over Livingston.
He also scored in a 3-1 comeback victory at Falkirk and became a regular during his brief Tannadice spell, making 12 appearances in total.

Although Kilmarnock is known to have produced programmes prewar, unfortunately we are not aware of any that involve United.
However, when it comes to the immediate post-war years, we do have accurate knowledge of the large number of issues in which United featured before regular issues became the norm following the club’s promotion in 1960.

This match was played the week before United’s iconic Scottish Cup meeting with Celtic and, if the Hoops’ scouts were in attendance and read the programme, they would have noted a prophetic preview. Assessing United’s chances of troubling the Parkhead side, the writer described the team as showing “a compactness in defence” and “a crispness in attack that might cause Celts a lot of bother.” Of course, that proved accurate as United famously triumphed 4–3. Kilmarnock, however, clearly heeded the warning, holding the Terrors to an entertaining 3–3 draw.
This was Willie McFadyen’s men’s second visit inside three weeks. That meeting ended with the Ayrshire side edging through in the B Division Supplementary Cup, despite Peter McKay scoring all three United goals. The editorial noted that United’s performance should serve as a warning, but, as the result above shows, it did not.
Facing that was Today’s Visitors and a Flashback article focussing on games from Fife and ten years ago. Retained from the previous season’s issue was a list of fixtures, results, scorers and crowds.
The last of this genre of programmes, this was the third meeting of the season, with the editorial noting that although the hosts could claim two wins, it opined that this clash would be as hard as any that had gone before. But in a season best forgotten, United’s run of defeats continued, with just one win from their opening six games.

SPOT THE

Dundee United are delighted to confirm a strengthened partnership with Scott Fyffe Wealth Management, who have secured the naming rights to a stand at Foundation Park.
The agreement represents a further step in the club’s ongoing commitment to developing its academy and community facilities, with the renamed Scott Fyffe Wealth Management Stand forming a key part of the venue’s continued growth.
Foundation Park has become a vital hub for Dundee United’s youth development pathway, supporting players across the academy age groups as well as community programmes delivered by the Dundee United Community Trust.
Investment in the site in recent years has included upgraded pitches, improved changing facilities and new infrastructure designed to enhance both performance and participation.
The extended collaboration with Scott Fyffe Wealth Management underlines the importance of strong local partnerships in sustaining long-term progress, ensuring that future generations of young players continue to benefit from first-class coaching environments and opportunities to represent the club.
