Ojibwe Winter Camp: Painting Snow Snakes Gooniikaa-Ginebig Ataadiiwin, or Snow Snake Game, is a traditional Ojibwe winter sport involving the sliding of a carved, painted wooden ‘snake’ down an icy snow trail to see whose snake goes the furthest. Guest instructor, Joseph ‘Minwaanimad’ Gokee will provide carved snakes to customize with paint in preparation for the Ojibwe Winter Camp at Bagley Nature Area in February. All materials are provided. No registration is required but space is limited to the first 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Geared to kids and their families.
