To safely open both Flora and Sutton pools we will need a staff of approximately 70 to 80 lifeguards. As of March 13, we had 34 lifeguards hired for the 2023 season. We continue to interview applicants and add more members to our team!

Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old. If hired, the City will provide training and certification for free. Lifeguard training includes online coursework and one day of in-person training and testing. Successful completion results in a 2-year certification in lifeguarding.
