Greetings to every rider, dreamer, and trailblazer joining us for this Supreme Weekend.
On behalf of the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., it is my absolute joy to welcome you to our first Sparks & Spurs Supreme Scholarship Weekend! We are kicking up dust, raising our hats, and celebrating a brand new tradition that blends Western flair with Delta excellence.
This weekend is more than an event—it’s a movement. A three day celebration of culture, community, and collective impact. And like any good trail ride, it starts with a bold first step. This is our first year hosting this Supreme Weekend, but with your support, we know it will only grow bigger, brighter, and even more unforgettable from here.

Thank you for saddling up with us. Your presence fuels our mission and strengthens our commitment to scholarships, educational opportunities, and community programming across the Greater Houston area. Every ticket purchased, every table sponsored, and every moment shared helps us continue the work of uplifting future scholars and empowering the communities we serve. As you enjoy the Zydeco showdown, the fellowship, and of course, our dazzling Black Tie Cowboys & Cowgirls Gala, I hope you feel the spirit of unity, purpose, and joy that makes This weekend truly Supreme. Tonight, we shine like rhinestones under arena lights—and we do it together.

So dust off your boots, tip your hats, and get ready to ride into a Weekend full of sparkle, sisterhood, and Southwestern charm. Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and helping us blaze this new trail.
With gratitude and a whole lot of sparkle,
Percy Ly
President,HoustonMetropolitan AlumnaeChapter

As we gather tonight on the final evening of Black History Month, we do so with hearts full of pride and purpose.
Black history is not only a reflection of our past it is the living legacy of resilience, brilliance, faith, and excellence that continues to shape our future. Tonight, we celebrate the rich heritage of Black Americans who paved the way, and we honor those who continue to lead, serve, and uplift our communities.
Your presence here is more than attendance it is impact.

By supporting Sparks & Spurs, you are investing in the dreams of students across this country. Your generosity fuels scholarships, expands opportunity, and ensures that the next generation has the resources to pursue excellence without limits.
May this evening be filled with joy, fellowship, and celebration. As we enjoy the spirit of the West and the power of our shared mission, let us also reflect on how far we have come and how far we will go together.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in our students. And thank you for helping us continue the legacy.

Our mission is clear: to support students in their pursuit of higher education and professional dreams. Through scholarships, mentorship, and cultural enrichment, we strive to remove barriers and open doors of opportunity for the next generation of leaders.
Scholarships are more critical than ever. Nationally, more than 80% of college students rely on financial aid to pursue their degrees, and many talented young people face financial challenges that threaten their educational journey. By raising funds through the Sparkles and Spurs Supreme Weekend, we ensure that deserving Houston-area high school seniors have the resources they need to thrive academically and professionally.
This celebration also honors the extraordinary leadership and service of community partners and individuals whose dedication to education, mentorship, and cultural development continues to inspire generations. By recognizing their legacy, we highlight the values of resilience, excellence, and empowerment that define both HMAC and DECF.
We invite you to join us in this transformative mission. Whether by becoming a sponsor, purchasing tickets, or making a donation, your support directly impacts students’ lives and strengthens our community Together, we can expand opportunities, preserve heritage, and build a brighter future.
