This Is The Case Study I Used From Week 4as The Hospital Administrator This is the case study I used from Week 4 as the hospital administrator for Forest Glenn Medical Center. Within the outpatient medical team, three of the five doctors have submitted resignation letters effective immediately, posing a significant challenge for the organization. This situation requires swift and strategic leadership responses to stabilize the team and address underlying issues. As the hospital administrator, I organized meetings with the team’s director, Dr. Caron, and individually with the resigning physicians—Dr. Lowe, Dr. Howell, and Dr. Cardenas—to understand their reasons for leaving and to explore potential solutions. Dr. Lowe cited a hostile work environment fostered by Dr. Caron's leadership style as a primary reason for his resignation, a concern corroborated by the other two physicians. Recognizing the impact of workplace culture on employee retention and performance, I considered interventions that include addressing leadership behavior and establishing a healthier organizational climate to prevent future disruptions. In preparation for potential future outbreaks or crises, I am tasked with applying a systems approach to crisis management, focusing on leadership roles that facilitate coordination, rapid response, and organizational resilience. For this exercise, I select the role of a Healthcare Administrator for a large medical center, responsible for overseeing organizational preparedness, staff well-being, and interdepartmental coordination during health crises. The challenges this leader faces include ensuring effective communication during emergencies, maintaining staff morale amidst uncertainty, and implementing systemic changes to prevent recurrence of leadership and workplace issues similar to the outpatient team crisis in the case study. These challenges are analogous to those faced by other leadership roles such as FEMA Directors, CDC Directors, and incident response leaders, who must navigate complex systems, ensure resource allocation, and foster collaboration across agencies or sectors during health emergencies. ---

The ability of leaders to navigate complex systems, address internal challenges, and implement systemic changes can determine the success of responses to such emergencies. Drawing
