Paper For Above instruction In our professional and personal lives, individuals often encounter ethical dilemmas that challenge their moral principles and decision-making abilities. An ethical dilemma arises when there is a conflict between two or more ethical principles, making it difficult to determine the right course of action (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2019). This paper explores a personal experience of an ethical dilemma encountered in a workplace setting, analyzing whether the dilemma was a legal issue or an ethical issue, the nature of the conflict, and the perspectives of the involved parties, using concepts from Week 1 reading material. My personal experience involved a situation where I noticed unethical behavior by a colleague in a retail organization. The colleague was manipulating inventory data to meet sales targets, which could potentially mislead management and stakeholders regarding the company's performance. This scenario raised questions about legality, ethics, and organizational values. The dilemma was whether to report the colleague's behavior, risking potential retaliation, or to ignore the issue to maintain harmony within the team. Legal vs. Ethical Issue In this case, the dilemma was primarily an ethical issue rather than a legal one. Manipulating inventory records may not always be explicitly illegal, depending on jurisdiction and specific circumstances. However, the act violated the company's ethical standards and integrity policies (Crane & Matten, 2016). The ethical breach involved dishonest behavior which could harm stakeholders if exposed.
