This Is A Journal Entry What Did You Learn About Yourself From Discus This is a Journal Entry. What did you learn about yourself from discussion or the exercises? About other points of view? What real-world applications do you see for what you learned? How is the material relevant to you in the near term? In the long term? External environments are the forces and events outside a company that have the potential to influence or affect it. I am choosing to journal about external environments. This is something I had always considered in my previous career as multi-owner of Dance With Me Dance Studios. We would always be thoughtful of the economic situations and how the stock market was affecting our clients. We were following media to see and hear of all the positives and negatives in the ballroom world and we were constantly considering how our employees were interacting with our clients to make sure that we upheld a good image. Not one of these things were more important than another. After transitioning out of that career and starting another career at University I am actually surprised that I am focused on external environments. I am currently on a trip in Europe with 16 university students that are part of our club sport Ice Skating Team. I am traveling with them due to concerns of liability. We are now having to be very deliberate in making sure university school trips are safe. Last year, one of our students was traveling on a school-sponsored spring break trip and was killed. Unfortunately, we did not have a coach or faculty member attend. Situations like this are always tragic but we could have been better equipped. This awful incident cost the university a huge loss of monetary funds and the life of an important student. We have now begun to change our policy and this is why I am in Europe, as a precaution and to help facilitate good choices amongst our students. Because of the negative media and situation, this event had the potential to cause a loss of confidence in students and parents in letting their students participate in our programs. This could be detrimental to our department and programs. I believe that external operations are impactful in the growth and decisions of businesses.
Paper For Above instruction Understanding the impact of external environments on individual and organizational decision-making is crucial, as illustrated through personal reflections and real-world experiences. My exploration began with a focus on my previous career as a multi-owner of Dance With Me Dance Studios, where external factors such as economic conditions, media influence, and client perceptions played a vital role in daily operations. Recognizing how these external forces influence strategic decisions emphasizes their importance across industries.
