This discussion aligns with your Final Reflection assignment, which asks you to choose a domestic public policy that you would like to change This discussion aligns with your Final Reflection assignment, which asks you to choose a domestic public policy that you would like to change. You might find it interesting to discuss different public policy changes with your classmates. You can share the basic points here. Write a short summary that includes the following points: State the public policy that you chose to change. Explain why you think it should be changed. Using the list below, describe one of the political processes you chose to change the policy: Legislative process. Presidential executive action. Administrative agency’s regulations. Legal system of the courts.

Paper For Above instruction The public policy I have chosen to change is the current immigration policy in the United States. The existing policies are often criticized for being overly restrictive, inefficient, and lacking pathways for legal immigration and integration. I believe this policy should be changed to promote a more equitable, humane, and efficient immigration system that benefits both immigrants and the nation as a whole. The primary reasons for advocating change in immigration policy stem from economic, social, and humanitarian considerations. Economically, immigrants contribute significantly to the workforce, innovation, and entrepreneurial activities. Restrictive policies hinder economic growth and miss opportunities for demographic revitalization, especially given the aging population in the U.S. Socially, strict immigration laws often breed discrimination, marginalization, and social divides. On humanitarian grounds, separating families or denying refuge to asylum seekers violates human rights and international commitments. Therefore, comprehensive reform is essential to foster inclusivity, economic vitality, and social cohesion. To illustrate how this policy could be changed, I would focus on modifying the legislative process. The legislative process involves Congress enacting laws, which is fundamental in shaping national policies. Currently, immigration laws are often mired in political polarization and legislative gridlock. Changing this process entails advocating for bipartisan collaboration, streamlining legislative procedures, and introducing new bills that prioritize pragmatic immigration reforms. Specifically, this could include establishing clearer pathways to citizenship, increasing visa quotas, and protecting the rights of undocumented immigrants residing in the country.
