This assignment is two paragraph summary and two paragraph reflection based on parts of the weekly readings This assignment is two paragraph summary and two paragraph reflection based on parts of the weekly readings. Please read this week's three articles regarding Michigan Standards, the PDF of the flyer regarding the NEW Michigan Science Standards, the Michigan Standards website, the CCSS, and Early Childhood Math Instruction (posted). Share a summary of some of the information in these articles and a reflection regarding what you could do in an early childhood classroom to support the goals and requirements outlined in these articles. As you discuss your insights and perceptions about the reading material, connect the reading to your observations in the classroom. When you borrow information from the textbook or other course reading materials such as articles etc., (summarized information, paraphrased information, or direct quotations), include the page number or paragraph number (if online) in your citation. If you include information from any other outside sources, you must also provide an APA citation and appropriate in-text documentation for that source. The relevant articles include: the article on the Michigan Science Standards, an article on math in the early years, the NAEYC Website, the article on the State of Michigan K-12 Science Standards, the Proposed Michigan Department of Education Science Standards, Michigan Pre-K Math Standards, and Michigan Pre-K Math and Science Standards.

Paper For Above instruction The importance of aligning early childhood science and mathematics education with state and national standards cannot be overstated. Recent updates to Michigan’s standards, including the introduction of the new Michigan Science Standards, aim to foster skills such as scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving from an early age. These standards emphasize hands-on experiences, observation, and fostering curiosity, which are essential components in engaging young learners and supporting their development in STEM disciplines (Michigan Department of Education, 2023). The standards are designed to be developmentally appropriate, ensuring that early learners are not overwhelmed but rather challenged at their cognitive level, thus laying a foundation for future scientific understanding and inquiry. Similarly, in mathematics education, Michigan’s Pre-K Math Standards advocate for early exposure to numbers, patterns, and spatial relationships through play-centered, meaningful activities. These standards emphasize the importance of integrating math concepts into daily routines and play to build a strong
