The communication process in the workplace involves a sender transmitting information through a chosen channel to a receiver, who then interprets the message (Schramm, 1954). For leaders, communication often involves strategic messaging aimed at motivating and guiding team members, emphasizing inspirational and directive communication styles (Hackman & Johnson, 2013). Managers typically focus on operational communication, such as delegating tasks and providing performance feedback, often with formal channels like meetings and reports (Mintzberg, 1989). Followers primarily receive, interpret, and respond to messages, engaging in two-way communication that sustains organizational flow (Katz & Kahn, 1966).
