The risks of sugary drinks in school community The topic of my study is: "The risks of sugary drinks in school community". My study question is: How do sugary drinks affect the kids' body in the school community in Dammam? The main goal of the study is to determine the harmful effects of sugary drinks on children's health within the school community in Dammam. This research aims to highlight the potential health risks associated with the consumption of sugary beverages among school-aged children and to provide recommendations for reducing intake to promote better health outcomes. For this study, the sample will consist of school children aged 6-12 years in Dammam who regularly consume sugary drinks. The sample will be selected through a stratified random sampling method, ensuring representation across different schools, age groups, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Specifically, two schools will be randomly chosen from different districts to account for geographical diversity, and within each school, students will be randomly selected. This approach allows for a representative sample that can accurately reflect the broader population, minimizing selection bias and ensuring that the findings are generalizable across the school community in Dammam. The rationale behind selecting this sampling method is based on the need for an unbiased, diverse, and representative sample. Stratified random sampling ensures that key subgroups, such as different age ranges and socioeconomic statuses, are proportionally included. This method enhances the validity of the study by capturing variations in sugary drink consumption and health outcomes among different segments of the population. Additionally, selecting schools from various districts decreases the risk of geographic bias, providing a comprehensive understanding of the issue across the community.
