Explain The Circumstances Which Prevented You From Making Sat

Please explain the circumstances which prevented you from making satisfactory academic progress and/or prevented you from maintaining the required grade point average for your merit scholarship. I am really sorry about my low grades during the past two years. Two years ago, the news of my parent's divorce made me really sad, and I could not focus on my study. One year ago, I started thinking about my situation, and I began to study more diligently. During the past semester, I believe I made significant improvements. My GPA improved considerably, and I also received a good grade in my Accounting class. I regularly visited my instructor’s office to ask questions, which helped me build a good relationship with him. I received valuable advice on how to improve my GPA. Although my overall GPA is still below 3.0, I recognize the progress I have made. I believe this positive change will support the finance center's consideration of my scholarship. I am now more passionate and motivated to start the upcoming semester with renewed dedication.

The circumstances that hindered my academic progress primarily stem from personal challenges, notably the emotional strain following my parents' divorce two years ago. This distress significantly affected my ability to concentrate and perform academically during that period. The emotional turmoil caused a decline in my academic performance, leading to grades that did not meet the requirements for my merit scholarship. However, recognizing the impact of these personal issues on my education, I began to actively work on overcoming them about a year ago. This involved reflection, seeking support, and adopting new strategies to improve my academic standing.

Recently, I have experienced notable positive changes in my situation. During the most recent semester, I saw consistent academic improvement, which I attribute to my increased dedication and proactive engagement with my coursework. For example, my GPA rose substantially, and I earned a good grade in my Accounting class. This academic progress was facilitated by my regular interactions with my instructor, which provided me with guidance and motivation. Building a strong relationship with him allowed me to seek advice on how to enhance my academic performance. Although my cumulative GPA remains below the threshold of 3.0, the progress I have made demonstrates my commitment and ability to succeed academically.

Looking ahead, I am determined to build on this momentum and meet the academic requirements for

financial aid. To do so, I plan to implement specific steps. First, I will create a detailed study schedule to ensure consistent engagement with my coursework and preparation for exams. Second, I aim to seek ongoing support by regularly consulting with my instructors and academic advisors to monitor my progress and address any challenges promptly. Third, I will participate in tutoring sessions or academic workshops to strengthen my understanding of challenging subjects. These measurable steps will help ensure continuous improvement and enable me to meet the academic standards necessary for maintaining my scholarship and financial aid eligibility.
