Community turns out during National Night Out

Decorah’s Phelps Park was teeming with community members Tuesday, Aug. 6 during National Night Out. National Night Out is aimed at promoting partnerships between local law enforcement and the community as well as fostering a sense of camaraderie among area neighborhoods, according to information from the NATW. Members of the Decorah Police Department, Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol strolled through the park and chatted with attendees at last week’s event. Decorah firefighters and WinnMed representatives were also present, along with several other area organizations which provide various services for families and communities in the region. ABOVE- Putnam Dibble visited the Girl Scouts’ booth and tried his hand at making giant bubbles with the help of Christine Van Horn.
