Over 40 years of continuous service to the Castlemaine club, 600+ games, life membership and countless roles across committees, greens and selection highlight Rod’s extraordinary contribution. After major heart surgery, he returned to the rink with heart, grit and determination a true club champion. This season Rod was ranked the top skip in Division One weekend pennant, leading his ladder-topping side and losing just one match during the home-and-away season. He then steered the team to victory with a thrilling two-shot semi-final win before securing the premiership with a five-shot grand final triumph.

Mel’s contribution to lawn bowls in Bendigo is extraordinary. Across a 45-year playing career, he has competed in more than 700 pennant games, winning four Club Championships, five Club Pairs titles and the Bendigo District Champion of Champions. He has also been part of 15 pennant premiership teams, represented Bendigo in four winning Group Championships and claimed numerous regional titles. Off the green, Mel has served four terms as President, spent more than 20 years on the general committee and helped run social bowls. After surviving a cardiac arrest 13 years ago, he fought back to continue playing the game he loves.

Rob Clough is a leader, volunteer and coach whose positivity lifts everyone around him. On the green he represents Bendigo East in Premier League on Saturdays and Division 1 Midweek Pennant. Off the green his contribution is just as impressive. Rob serves on the Bendigo East Board, leads the Saturday Pennant Selection Committee, runs the bar, coaches juniors from any club free of charge, and welcomes new players through Barefoot Bowls often while cooking the BBQ. He also designed the club’s new shirts, organised the order and secured a free shirt for every pennant player.
Ron joined Harcourt in 1982 and was awarded Life Membership in 2017. Across 43 years he has held numerous key roles, including president, vice-president and secretary. He also served as a board member, greens director and green keeper. Ron also contributed as bar manager, tournament director, and as a member of the Grounds and Buildings Committee, and as a club umpire. Few members have contributed so much across so many areas of club life, and Harcourt Bowls Club is stronger for Ron’s remarkable dedication.
Carmel Jansen White Hills Carmel has won countless titles, including six singles championships in a row, but continues to work with new bowlers and offer advice wherever it is sought to people with less experience and understanding of the game
Wayne has been a member of South Bendigo Bowls Club since 2012, contributing on and off the green. He served on the board, managed external functions and events, volunteered behind the bar, and is an accredited umpire. A qualified carpenter, Wayne has led maintenance and clubhouse upgrades, including designing and building the outdoor BBQ area and new shade shelters while coordinating working bees and liaising with trades. On the green, he is a two-time AGrade Singles Champion (2012–13 and 2018–19) and played in Division 1 and Premier League teams from 2019 to 2022, including a State Pennant title.
A respected long-time member, Maureen has served on multiple committees and, for more than 13 years, has organised and run the highly successful Girls on the Green program twice each year. Maureen has also supported extensive club administration and continues to play midweek and weekend pennant.

Few figures embody longevity and loyalty like Ellis. A 45‑year member, 30‑year committeeman and past president, he has guided Heathcote through decades of change, growth and renewal. His leadership was formally recognised during the club’s 120th anniversary, honoured as Heathcote’s oldest member and acknowledged for his unwavering commitment. Ellis has been a mentor to new bowlers and a custodian of club traditions. During a 24‑hour charity marathon for MND Victoria, he set himself the challenge of bowling one end for each of his 80 years a feat capturing his spirit and determination.
Coral is the heartbeat of her club - first to arrive, last to leave, and always in motion. Her contribution spans every corner of club life: kitchen, grounds, events, administration and day‑to‑day operations. Her work keeps Calivil functioning, thriving and connected. On the green, Coral has been a strong competitor since the early 2000s, holding roles including President and Vice‑President, winning the Club Championship at least 10 times, and claiming multiple 100‑Up titles. Her service was recognised with Life Membership. Coral’s commitment, reliability and passion make her a deeply valued member of the Calivil community.

She is the defining figure of the club - a leader whose influence spans 36 years. As Ladies President, also on key committees, mentored new bowlers, driven the 2003 clubhouse extension and supported the club as a major sponsor. On the green she is equally decorated, with 3 Club singles, six Pairs titles, a District Fours win and 5Premierships.The heartbeat of Inglewood bowls.
Has been central to the club’s recent rise. Arriving in 2022 during a challenging period, he delivered a title in his first season and led the club to the edge of a State Weekend Pennant final. As coach, mentor, selector, Board member and organiser of key events, he has supported bowlers at every level. His titles reflect his talent, but his true legacy is culture, stability, belief.
Philip is a respected leader, mentor and true sportsman who has given decades of service to the Echuca Bowling Club. Known for his steady leadership, encouragement of new players and unshakeable love of the game, Phil embodies the values of teamwork, humility and commitment that make our sport great.

A pennant and State competitor, she has enjoyed success since her early days at Lockington, multiple club titles and wins at the Barham Women’s Carnival. At Echuca she has been part of premiership teams and continues to mentor bowlers. A representative for the BCGBR Region Sides in Ballarat (2026), she is a tireless, passionate and highly regarded.
One of Lockington’s most energetic contributors — an enthusiastic competitor who features in club events, and a standout performer in midweek Scrounge. Off the green served as a former club president, remains a steady operational leader, and one of the region’s strongest promoters of bowls, using community news outlets to lift the sport’s profile.

Geoff has made a remarkable 60 year contribution to Tongala Bowls Club, celebrating its centenary this year. At 91, he remains a calm, consistent and highly respected competitor. His record includes 21 club titles, multiple pennant premierships and state‑level success, but his influence goes far beyond achievements. As the cornerstone of a six‑generation Tinning bowls dynasty and a mentor to young players, Geoff embodies longevity, leadership and lifelong service to the maroon and gold.
A three time Ladies Club Champion, Sally has become one of Tongala’s most reliable performers since taking up bowls in 2016. Her focus and competitive strength make her a standout in pennant and championship play. Off the green, she is the engine room of club life — coordinating tournaments, events and social activities with warmth and precision. Blending fresh ideas with deep respect for Tongala’s history, she continues to help shape a vibrant, forward‑looking club culture.
Graeme’s nomination spoke of loyalty, longevity and leadership and he embodies all three. Once in a club’s lifetime, someone stands above the rest, and for Valley View, that person is Graeme. His decades in the sport are remarkable, but it’s the energy he still brings to a small, volunteer‑driven club that sets him apart. Midweek or weekend, he’s there — supporting teammates, welcoming visitors and representing Valley View with humility and pride. A pillar of his club and a credit to Campaspe bowls.
Bill is the kind of club person every organisation hopes for — a Pennant player, social bowler, past committee member and volunteer since Rich River’s earliest days. But ask anyone what he’s famous for and the answer is instant: his legendary barbecuing skills. Beyond that, Bill’s organisational support for tournaments and tireless computer scoring work make every event run smoothly. He brings warmth, humour and reliability to the club, and Rich River is stronger for it.
Mark has gone above and beyond for the Tallygaroopna Bowling Club, working tirelessly as Greenkeeper to restore the club’s surface to an outstanding standard after two years without a home base. A Division 1 player, premiership winner and valued member of the executive committee, Mark is also a former chairman of selectors who continues to dedicate countless hours to the club’s success. His hard work, pride and leadership perfectly embody the spirit of the Warramunda Community Care Bowler of the Year Award.
Dianne’s enthusiasm, skill and ever-positive attitude make her a standout at Tatura Hill Top. She’s known for her reliability, support of fellow bowlers and willingness to pitch in wherever needed. When we contacted Dianne to let her know of her recognition, she laughed that she and her husband had planned to “wind back” their involvement in bowls but soon realised there’s barely been a day since October when she hasn’t been on the green! Between state competitions and pennant bowls, Dianne continues to live and breathe the sport she loves.

TATURA HILL TOP BOWLING CLUB
At just 14, Stephanie is already proving bowls is a sport for all ages. A member of the GV Devils Junior Squad, she was a Women’s Singles finalist at Hill Top, part of the GV State Fours–winning ladies team, selected to represent GV Ladies, and impressed at the Diamond Jack Singles at Moama with a win over a current Victorian junior representative.
At the other end of the age spectrum, David has been the backbone of Avenel Bowls Club for decades. His service includes roles as President, Secretary, Treasurer, Delegate, and greenkeeper. He still mows, marks, waters, and rolls the green and mentors younger members. A Life Member since 2022, David’s contribution is nothing short of outstanding.

Sandy is one of the true heartbeat contributors of the Mooroopna Golf Bowls Club a tireless worker whose impact is felt across every part of the club. Her contribution includes six years as treasurer, ongoing volunteer support in the kitchen, bar, events and newmember welcome activities, leadership as skipper of the midweek top side, and a key role in the Division 1 weekend pennant team. A three-time Ladies Club Pairs Champion and representative bowler for the Goulburn Valley, Sandy is a welcoming, reliable and generous club member who always steps up.
Pam is one of Avenel’s quiet achievers a dedicated club member who gives generously, supports others and never seeks recognition. Her contribution includes service as Ladies Section Secretary (2007–2012) and Club Board Secretary (1997–2000), along with four Singles Championships (2011, 2013, 2019 and 2021) and success in Mixed Pairs with multiple partners. She has also been a long-serving selection committee member, lovingly maintains the club gardens, supports her grandsons’ bowling journeys by travelling to GV Devils training, and continues to develop her own game using a bowling arm while helping others along the way.

Since joining Shepparton Park in 2019, Joy has become one of the club’s most valued contributors, rising to Division 1 in both Saturday and Midweek pennant and claiming B Grade (2020/21), Ladies 21-Up (2024/25) and A Grade/Ladies Club Champion (2025/26) honours. Off the green, she serves as Bowls Director, supports the Social Committee, catering and raffles, manages the uniform shop and coordinates the nifty-fifty on pennant days always with a warm welcome and a smile.
Jason is Tatura’s dependable powerhouse — long‑time club director, former Secretary, Life Member, Bar Manager, and co‑greenskeeper responsible for the surfaces used in multiple Division One Midweek and Weekend Grand Finals. A multiple club champion and Goulburn Valley Champion of Champions Singles winner, Jason also offers support to surrounding clubs and is widely respected for both his playing record and volunteer commitment.
Graeme McKinnis (Tallygaroopna) First to volunteer and puts in countless hours behind the scenes
Few contributors in the Goulburn region match the breadth of Darren Kelly’s service to Mooroopna. A Division 1 skip and multiple Club Singles and Pairs champion, Darren has also represented the Goulburn Valley on numerous occasions. Off the green, he has served seven years as Club Secretary, the past 18 months as Greens Keeper, more than seven years as Tournament Director, and continues to contribute across Match, Selection and Greens Committees, while currently serving as Chair of the GV Match Committee.
Avenel’s Jenny Furletti is a powerhouse contributor on and off the green. A nine-time Ladies Club Champion and finalist again this year, she plays in the club’s highest pennant division and was awarded Life Membership in 2022 alongside her husband David. Off the green, Jenny has served as club delegate, Board Director and long-serving Catering Officer, while playing a key role in major club functions and fundraising through her homemade jams, pickles and chutneys, and helping maintain the club gardens.
Euroa’s heartbeat is Tony Kingma a no‑fuss, high achieving bowler whose work ethic and spirit lift the entire club. A Division 1 Midweek Premiership player and three time Pairs Champion, he also chairs the Match Committee, manages the bar, marks the greens and maintains the surrounds. His mentoring of new bowlers and community engagement have driven fresh memberships. Euroa has flourished because of the quiet commitment Tony brings every day. A truly deserving winner.
Murchison is a stronger, more connected club because of Geoff Higgins a man who has stepped into almost every role and delivered each with enthusiasm and professionalism. His contributions include six years as Pennant Skip, four as President, three as Club Champion, six as volunteer Greenkeeper and five as Tournament Director. Geoff’s leadership, reliability and community spirit have shaped Murchison’s culture and strengthened its place in the region. He truly defines “above and beyond.

Jack Dell is a powerhouse of commitment and organisation, on and off the green. A life member of the Numurkah Golf & Bowls Club, he has dedicated countless hours as Bowls Manager, overseeing preseason planning and competition logistics. This season alone, Jack has been instrumental in setting up competitions on BowlsLink for both pennant and state events across the Murray region. He continues to represent his club with pride as a Division 1 player in both Saturday and Midweek pennant, while also serving on the Murray Playing Area Match Committee. A devoted volunteer and Pennant bowler, she’s also involved with the GMBR Devils (Under-18) program and serves as Facebook administrator for both the GMBR and Goulburn Valley pages. The mother of four talented bowling children including a daughter who recently represented Australia for the first time and wife to a championship-winning coach and player, Naomi’s home and heart are both built around the sport. She embodies the family spirit and community connection that make bowls so special.

Bob’s journey from golf to bowls in 2016 has transformed Club Tocumwal. His leadership as tournament director has reinvigorated Barefoot Bowls, introduced winter tournaments, and revived major events like Queens of the Green and Masters of the Murray. Thanks to Bob, the club now hosts thriving competitions with waiting lists and attracts bowlers from across the region. His mentoring, behind-thescenes support for smaller clubs, and tireless enthusiasm have earned him respect everywhere –and the title of 2024 Club Person of the Year. A true game-changer!

Archie is a pillar of the Barooga Bowling Club and one of the Murray region’s most dedicated contributors, with more than 25 years of service since joining in 1999. A long-time Midweek and Saturday pennant player, multiple premiership team member and club champion, he has also served 14 years as Tournament Director of the iconic Cobram Barooga Peaches and Cream Tournament, directed the Barooga Classic Pairs, coordinated Keith’s Friday Social Bowls for more than a decade, and contributed as club secretary, publicity officer and General Committee member.
Greg is one of the most selfless contributors in the Murray bowls community, giving his time, leadership and experience to Katandra West across every level of the club. A Division 1 pennant winner, multiple Club Champion, Murray Bowls State Triples Champion and current Victoria Police Games Singles Champion, he continues to represent the sport with distinction and will represent Victoria at the Australian Police Bowls Championships in 2026. Off the green, Greg has served as Men’s President, Club President and long-time Secretary, and hosts the Murray Bowls Radio Show on 1FM.
Mick is a standout on and off the green. Known for his exceptional green thumb, he contributes heavily to maintaining and presenting club facilities, and has also been recognised for his contributions to the wider community. On the green he is a top competitor winning the 2024/25 Pairs Championship and reaching the final of the Singles Championship. A dependable volunteer and highly skilled bowler, Mick is a fully deserving January winner.
Mandy is a dedicated volunteer who plays a vital role in the maintenance and upkeep of key club facilities, including the important McGregor green. She is a valued contributor on club working bees and brings strength to the club on the competitive front as a Saturday Pennant bowler. A fantastic representative of the Murray region.

For more than 23 years, Colin Campbell has been one of Barooga’s most valued contributors a tireless volunteer, administrator and accomplished bowler whose impact reaches every corner of the club. Since joining in 2003, he has coordinated Monday Night Social Bowls for 18 years, served multiple terms as President and Secretary, and continues as Bar Manager and Work Health & Safety Officer. On the green, he has been part of premiership teams across Divisions 1 to 4 and was B Grade Club Singles Champion in 2014/15.
A constant presence for the Mighty Curlews, Gayle is the organisational backbone of Berrigan Community Sports Bowls Club. As Secretary, she manages essential communications, membership records and serves as the primary point of contact for members and visitors. On the green, Gayle is just as committed — a regular in Weekend and Midweek Pennant, contributing consistency, reliability and a strong competitive spirit. Her ability to balance administrative leadership with on‑green performance makes her a standout figure.
Three members of the Cartwright family have earned nominations in this year’s Inaugural Commjnity Care Bowler of the Year program - Australian representative Olivia (Bendigo Bowls Club), her mother Naomi, and younger brother Jacob. For the record David and Josh have also had outstanding seasons.
A much-admired figure at the Dunolly Bowls Club, Barry is the kind of club member every organisation treasures loyal, reliable and always the first to lend a hand. His consistency on the green, his guidance of others and his commitment to community bowls have earned him the respect of teammates and competitors alike.

Ian is the backbone of Avoca Bowls Club. As chairperson of selectors for three years, he also organises monthly triples, winter 2x4x2, and was the driving force behind the club’s open aggregate tournament each November On the green, Ian skips in Division 1 on Saturdays and midweek, while off the green he serves on the club committee and ensures everything runs smoothly. His leadership and commitment make him an outstanding winner!
Angela is a highly competitive bowler, ranked fourth in Midweek Division 2, with her team sitting second on the ladder. She brings energy and enthusiasm to every game and every club event, always going the extra mile to make things happen. A true team player who lifts everyone around her!
Hannah Delconte Dunolly A tireless volunteer who works hard behind the scenes and is always ready to step in when needed. Hannah’s willingness to help wherever required makes her an invaluable part of the club.
Robert Jackson is everything a bowls club hopes for a competitor, contributor and leader, and now a Life Member of the Talbot Bowling Club. After breaking his leg playing football in his mid-20s and filling in for the local bowls side, he missed just two games over the next 20 years. A consistent high-level performer, currently ranked fourth among thirds for the 2025–26 season, Robert is also a generous volunteer and role model who gives back as much as he takes from the game. He truly embodies the spirit of the Goldfields region and is a deserving December Goldfields winner.
Dan is one of those club members who seems to be everywhere at once and the club is stronger for it. A dedicated greenkeeper for both the bowls and golf clubs, Board Committee member and current Division 1 Saturday pennant skip, he is also a current and past Club Champion who mentors new players and supports Friday Twilight Social Bowls. Dan’s work preparing and maintaining the greens for pennant and state events keeps the club at its best. Reliable, respected and deeply valued — a brilliant and deserving runner-up.

Ann has been a pillar of the Avoca Bowling Club for about 20 years, serving as Past President, Vice President, Catering Manager for six years and a longtime Bowls Committee member, and helping establish the Goldfields Ladies Triples competition. A regular representative of Avoca at regional tournaments and a strong supporter of club events and fundraisers, she has also served as a midweek selection committee member and skip, and a Saturday pennant skip for three years. Phil is one of Maldon’s most reliable and cheerful volunteers. He attends every community event, teaches newcomers how to bowl, and is the club’s unofficial onion master at their monthly BBQs. He is there early on pennant days to set up flags, chairs and equipment and he’s one of the last to leave after pack up. He brings enthusiasm, positivity and genuine care to everything he does at the club.

A stalwart of the Avoca Bowling Club, Loralee Field has been a driving force both on and off the green for many years. A past President and Secretary, Midweek selector and skip in both Midweek and Saturday pennant, she is also a three-time Ladies Club Champion and a valued contributor across catering, committee and board roles. Her reliability, generosity and leadership make her one of Avoca’s most respected members and a thoroughly deserving February winner.
For more than a decade, Peter Sedgwick has been a driving force at Maldon Bowling Club a steady, reliable presence whose work touches every part of club life. He has served four years as President, ten on the committee, coordinated tournaments, kept the greens, skipped Division 1, supported juniors and school programs, helped run social events, managed bar supplies, represented the club and assisted with major maintenance. Peter is a true cornerstone of Maldon and a richly deserving winner.

At a club with a proud 100 year history and premiership success across multiple divisions, Robert Bursill continues to set the standard for commitment and performance. He finished this season on an incredible high, delivering a dominant grand final display that helped his team secure victory by eight shots over their sister side — earning himself a premiership medal just days before this award announcement. Robert’s contribution reflects the consistency, competitiveness and club‑first attitude that have long defined the Highland Society.
