Dario Bernardi – Allied Leisure Group

“The Scottish Bar & Pub Awards at the Hilton Doubletree was a fantastic night – it really does bring the whole hospitality community together. It was great to catch up with so many familiar faces, including people I hadn’t seen in a long time. The evening had a brilliant atmosphere, a strong line-up of awards, and some very deserving winners. A real celebration of our industry.”

Michael Bergson – Bucks Bar Group

“The awards were brilliant fun as usual this year. The Oscars theme worked well, and I thought Bev Lyons did a great job of hosting. The most exciting thing is to see and meet all the new and emerging talent, business owners and operators each year. For us personally it was an absolute honour to win the Independent Multiple Operator award, and it meant so much to our team.”

Pete Harvey – Aboukir

“To meet friends new and old, be fed, watered and treated to a top class event…what’s not too like! My table of customers, friends & even one guest flying from Zurich to attend all agreed we can’t wait till Awards number 31 and raise a glass to Susan, Nicola and the team to a job well done. Cheers!”

Mary Doherty – MacSorleys

“It was fabulous night! It was well organised; the food was gorgeous and everything about it was just perfect. We’re still trying to come to terms with our win, it was quite a shock to the system! We’ve been continuing the celebrations, and the Sunday Mail Pub of the Year mirror has pride of place - in fact we are moving it to the window above the stage so everyone can see it!”

Kevin McGhee – Athletic Arms

“It was our first time at the awards and it hopefully won’t be our last as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I don’t even know how it could have been better! The venue was brilliant, and the pre-drinks were very interesting - great to see some new products, in fact we’ve got a few of them coming on our delivery this week! Receiving the award has been business changing for us and the amount of support we’ve had from the whisky industry has been incredible – in fact we are launching a whisky to commemorate the occasion with a local bottler! It’s been overwhelming actually.”

Jane Ross – The Mother Superior Myself and my team had a really good night. The food was great, the service was great, and I thought the entertainment was phenomenal this year - it felt really modern. The fact that we won an award was just the cherry on the cake. It was lovely to see all hospitality folk in the room glammed up and having a great night, particularly the Edinburgh venues post Fringe. It’s great to be able to chill, have a good time and catch and up with the people you haven’t been able to see all month.”

Laura Smillie – Berlinkys

“We were truly honoured to win ‘New Bar of the Year 2025’ at the Awards. A heartfelt thank you to DRAM Magazine, the judges and everyone involved in celebrating the very best of Scotland’s hospitality industry.  “This award is a reflection of the passion and hard work of our incredible team and the loyalty of our guests. We are proud to be part of such a thriving hospitality sector and look forward in continuing to deliver spectacular live shenanigans for the years ahead in our mission to “Bring Back the Good Times” to Glasgow.”

Marta Raynor – The Keys Bar

“The awards night was an amazing experience. Everything was very well organised, from the beautifully decorated ball room, fun entertainment to delicious refreshments and food. Thank you very much for having us.”

Steven Muir – Southern Ayr

“The DRAM Scottish Pub & Bar Awards at Glasgow’s DoubleTree Hilton was an absolute belter of a night – great people, great energy, and yes… a very proud moment when one of our team picked up an award (cue happy tears and maybe a wee dance). The hospitality industry doesn’t often get time to stop and celebrate, so hats off to the Dram team for pulling off a flawless 30th Anniversary bash. If this is what 30 looks like, we can’t wait to see what 40 brings!”

Grant Hood – Lisini Pub Co.

“The awards night was a great celebration of Scottish hospitality, with a fantastic atmosphere and the chance to catch up with friends and peers across the trade. It was well organised and did a brilliant job of recognising the talent in our industry while also acknowledging the challenges we face. DRAM Magazine plays an important role in shining a light on our sector, and the awards are a perfect example of that.”

Neil Morrison – The Rocks Leisure Group

“Another wonderful night at the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards! A fantastic celebration of hospitality businesses and individuals, and great to catch up with so many people from across the trade. Hats off to Susan and her team for organising another brilliant night – and congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the awards!”

Mark Lappin – Slouch/Bag o’Nails

“The night is one of the industry highlights of the year, filled with legendary faces with the new guard taking their place on the awards stage. Susan as ever was a fantastic and engaging host.”

Steve Latto – The Criterion

“We are truly honoured that The Criterion St Andrews has been recognised at The Scottish Bar & Pubs Awards 2025. This exceptional event not only celebrates individual achievements but also highlights the strength, talent, and resilience of Scotland’s world-class hospitality industry. To be part of such an inspiring evening, surrounded by so many outstanding venues and dedicated professionals, is a privilege. This award is a testament not only to our team’s passion and hard work but also to the thriving Scottish pub and bar community that continues to set the standard for excellence.”

Rachel Palumbo – Hey Palu

“It was an unforgettable night at this year’s DRAM Awards. We’re so grateful to the organisers for putting together such a special evening that truly celebrates the best of our industry.  Winning Cocktail Bar of the Year again is just incredible; it means so much to be recognised by the industry alongside so many amazing venues and people we admire. It’s a real testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion of the Hey Palu team, and we couldn’t be prouder to bring this award home.”

Edward Fox – Encore Bars

“Fourteen of our team attended the awards and it was amazing night – a great celebration of the industry! It was wonderful to see such a good turnout and everyone having such a good time. There was some well-deserved awards handed out on the night, and it was great to be a part of that. We were over the moon to get recognised and receive an award. I was delighted to win the Rising Entrepreneur Award as well and I look forward to working closely with David and Billy in the coming months.”

Ross Henderson – The Birds and Bees

“The whole night was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The setting of the room was lovely and it looked very impressive. It was good to meet people I haven’t met before or hadn’t seen in ages. We were absolutely thrilled to receive the award; we had won before back in 2011 and it’s great that we are still doing something right 14 years later! There were a few wee tears at the table and the whole night was excellent!”

Lesley McDowell – The Newton Bar

“The hospitality and the meal were fabulous, and we had an amazing time! I’ve worked in The Newton Bar for 21 years and we were absolutely ecstatic to win the award – it’s a real honour. We were there last year as well and didn’t win but even then, we still glad to be a part of it.”

Ross Dalton – Draffens

“The night was lovely and was made even better by the great people who were seated at the table with us. It was nice to see people we know who work for the drinks brands there as well. This year’s been a good year for us, and this was just the icing on the cake.” It was great for everyone to have a night where and it was a great opportunity to give them a wee boost. Our customers have been in talking about our win nonstop so that’s been great too! The event was well put together and the winners were all well-deserved!”

Calum Anderson – Black Ivy

“Winning Hotel Bar of the Year at the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards was a fantastic moment for our team. The event not only celebrated the very best in Scottish hospitality but also gave us the chance to connect with the wider community of operators, suppliers, and innovators in the industry. Taking our team along was invaluable; it broadened their perspective, inspired new ideas, and gave a huge morale boost by recognising the importance of what we do day-to-day. Bringing home the award has strengthened team spirit and pride and reinforced our commitment to delivering the very best for our guests.”

Donald MacLeod MBE - HF Ents

“Huge congratulations must go to Susan and her hard-working Dram team on reaching such a magnificent milestone. Thirty years in business supporting the trade is no easy feat and a cause for great celebration - even if it does make me feel old!
