INSIDE Confidentiality (Pages 1 - 5) Therapy? (cartoon) (Page 2)
CONFIDENTIALITY Confidentiality is the cornerstone of the therapeutic process. Along these lines understand that you are receiving this Newsletter in confidentiality. No one else but who you tell, will know. Why you? In the past either you have simply emailed me or perhaps we have had a work session together. Did you send me a congratulatory comment on my Viceland show, The Therapist, engage in the Mentorship Program, participate in the Men’s group, sign up for the Educational Group, show up for the New Year’s Eve Zoom celebration? Did you perhaps express interest and never

participate in the any of the services that have been offered? Whatever the case may be, “Welcome to my monthly Newsletter.” June 2026
I am acknowledging that I am alive and enjoying Life. I am glad to report that with each passing day I, seemingly, am getting clearer and clearer. Presently, I surrender to my calling, responsibility and desire to share and to connect with like minds. I have received the message: serve. So here I am being, divinely, guided to distribute a monthly Newsletter. And you are one of its recipients! Did you know that if a client tells me that he/she in the past had committed a crime that I, as a licensed therapist, cannot report it? Actually, I have had that experience several times. Remember the Menendez brothers who are in jail for the heinous crime that they committed? Well, their therapist told someone he was dating and she, in turn, reported it to the police; consequently, the therapist lost his license. When a client deeply shares, I treat it as a confession. And just like the priest, I must hold it. Along these lines those of us who are social servants, must employ techniques and ways of cleansing the energy field of these heavily laden secrets which have been shared.
This reminds me of a lady with whom I had worked with in a community social service agency. We became so respectful of each other’s work that we Vol.1 became friends after that contracted work assignment had ended. We would talk on the phone, meditate together and always uplift the other. For a short period of time, just because of our busy schedules, we had not reached out to the other. When we did reconnect, my friend told me that she had begun “hands on healing work”. I, immediately, became alarmed as I exclaimed, “you are literally taking on people’s negative energy.” I was so alarmed that I went and bought a crystal salt lamp for her to energize and re-energize her hands before and after each session. She told me on the evening that I had called, “Siri, they wore me out.” She did, however, manage the next day, to come over and take home the crystal salt lamp that I had bought for her. My lovely friend was so elated to have received her gift. She was delighted as she left. She looked renewed, restored and quite robust as she ventured towards another day of “hands on healing “work at the fair. Her son called me two days later and told me that on the last day of the fair (Continued on Page 4...) Page 3

that my friend had gone home and unexpectedly, died. An autopsy was not taken as her children would have had to pay an additional $10,000. I am still devastated, although her death occurred June 2026 three years ago. Yes, we, healers, therapists and social ministers must cleanse ourselves of the dark psychic material that we serviceably take on. What do I do? One activity that works like a charm for me is to shower, immediately, after work; it is this shower which purifies my magnetic field. I talk to friends about frivolous stuff. I go to the theatre. I take vacations. I go to therapy myself, withstanding that I have had five different mental health clinicians during my lifetime. Presently, my new thing is to go to a comedy club once a week and laugh. To see an unapologetic, unguarded perceptive, stand-up comic on stage, from my perspective, is to witness someone, at least in that moment, who is modeling self-love. Now I know comics have a tragic side as some of the best have, sadly, succumbed to suicidal ideation; yet when before the crowd, they personify as beacons of light. Nonetheless, I am careful not to sit too close to the stage for I know I am at risk for being singled out. Once when I made that mistake the comic looked at me and surprisingly said, “Oh, we have a yoga master in the audience tonight. Yoga
master, I know you go home and ‘ummmmm’. Yoga master heal this couple, they need your blessing.” I was in shock! How could he possibly Vol.1 have known that I had been the first Director of Teacher Training of Kundalini Yoga, appointed by the Master in the 80’s? At the end of the performance, I, purposefully, went backstage and asked if he knew who I was. His reply, “I have WHY NOW? never seen you before in my life.” What? Well, alrighty Mr. Spiritual teacher!! I was awestruck as I witnessed him display WHAT CLIENTS this same intuitive skill with several SAY others in the audience.
INSIDE
Actually, as a mental health clinician, it is our job to be as tuned into our client in front of us as was the previously mentioned stand-up comic to his audience member. Perhaps the most rewarding intervention for a client is when the provider “accurately reflects.” It is when the provider accurately reflects that the client begins to feel safe as he/she feels seen. It is truly a humbling- almost out of body experience- when a client begins with “I have never told anyone this”, “we have client doctor privilege, correct?” I don’t want to even hear myself say this.” All of these statements or others akin to them are prefacing the revelation of a deep held, never disclosed secret. (Continued on Page 5...) Page 4
CONFIDENTIALITY (Continued from Page 4...)
Within the nomenclature of the word, confidentiality, I hear confidence. The client gets the confidence to share a deep dark secret because he/she seemingly trusts the practitioner, considering that he/she has consistently and accurately reflected throughout the session. June 2026
Vol.1
Years ago, I remember saying to a client, “Sir, it is very difficult for me to say this.” He said, “What?” I, then, apologetically said, “I do not think you are telling me the Truth”. He quickly responded, “I am not.” After that moment, the therapy flowed in Truth for he now had the confidence that I was seeing and hearing him, correctly.
INSIDE
WHY NOW?
Within the humanistic model in which I work, I consider it my ethical responsibility to empathetically speak Truth. Hopefully, then it is, that the client will have the confidence to tell the Truth. Confidence will reign and the cornerstone of the WHAT CLIENTS therapeutic process will prevail: Confidentiality.
SAY
THE LIGHT BOX: CREATE, CREATE, CREATE
A worthy goal is for us to acknowledge that we have been created by some Unknown, Unseen Creator; allow us to call it, the Infinite Creative Consciousness. And when we, as creations, are able to merge (thru tools such as meditation, prayer, breath work, reverie) into a neutrality of Being, it is within that moment that we, simultaneously, will have merged into a Oneness with the Universal Self. It is, then, that we will have tapped into our vast potential. Let us forfeit our stubborn will and learn to submit to the Imitable Divine Will as we prosper into health, wealth and happiness. Let us learn anew so that living becomes a joy. Let us begin to live carefree. Let our intention be to pay attention to the subtle communication of our Present Lifeworld. How are people relating to us? Get honest with yourself: Is your Life working? Let us vanish our fear from moment to moment. Let us never forget that we are a creation endowed with The Ability to Infinitely Create. Live! Love! Live Love! Page 5
