Abstract Present paper deals with the effectiveness of Integrated Learning. As the name suggests Integrated learning is not related to any particular subject. It is combination of all the academic subject as well as current affairs. It can be a general information which will help the children in their day to day life. Topics are decided according to age group and need of the children. Beside academics so many topics can be covered through Integrated learning and students will enhance their knowledge which will help them in their life and they will be able to handle the situation and be able to take decisions by their own. This is actually the demand of today’s world .That’s why researcher have chosen this topic for research. researcher tried to see the effectiveness of Integrated learning on Primary Level Children. The Result is very Positive, it shows that integrated Learning Helps in Enhancement of Knowledge.

. The purpose of the education is to enable man to realize, to mature, to discipline the human mind and spirit. The aim of education is to bring about all round development in each individual. Today‟s generation is very knowledgeable. They are acquiring more knowledge due to the latest technology. According to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, “our children are the pillars of the nation they must be cared for and protected at all costs under suitable environment”.

Integrated learning 1

As the name suggests Integrated learning is not related to any particular subject. It is

combination of all the academic subject as well as current affairs. It can be a general information which will help the children

Integrated learning is very effective for Primary Level students. Through worksheets

related to topics /activities, Indoor / Outdoor activities and big event like carnivals children participate and express their feeling, their opinion and creativity and participate to gain complete practical knowledge about that particular topic. 3) Different modules are designed for different age group. Children have to complete the activities in a fixed period . Teacher explain the module by demonstration method, explanation method and time to time showing Power point presentations to give complete knowledge about the topic. Worksheets are followed by explanation through which students shows their creative thinking through drawing and coloring. Sometimes they express their feelings through pen and paper. This type of learning was also used earlier unknowingly but the name “ Integrated Learning “ given to this type of learning is most suitable and perfect. 4) Work –Integrated Learning or Education is a from of learning whereby period of study are alternated with period of related work in business, industry or government agency. In this way students are given the opportunity to effectively integrate the theory of the class –room with the practice and the responsibility of the workplace. 5) Word Integrated- Learning is a powerful vehicle for scheduling and designing educational program some that students receive built-in, on- the job experience relating to their studies. Currently , various forms of work- integrated learning are utilized by educators in their institutions in 28 countries. 6) It is to be expected that in a developing society where economic growth is high ,quality work force is vital. A quality workplace is one in which the workers are responsive to local as well as international forces. This is especially so when trading among nation of the world become increasingly liberalized . This is where learning programs such as work-integrated learning can be of immense value in inculcating such habits in our future graduates. For students : 1) Soft skills as well as hard skills are enhanced due to real work experience. 2) Increased appreciation of connection ben academic material and different activities. 3) A means of earning extra knowledge. 4) Increased employment opportunities. NEED AND IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY In the present scenario we have seen that parents/ guardians have no time for their kids .The working group of parents go for job and child is at home sometimes with servants, maids and relatives. In big city child love to be independent and always like challenges , but parents feels that they are too young. The changing education system has made children self made and so they take alternatives for themselves. Integrated learning is very effective for Primary level students. Through worksheets related to topics / activities, Indoor / Outdoor activities and big events like carnivals children participated and express their feeling, their opinion and creativity and participated to gain complete knowledge about that particular topic. Beside academics so many topics can be covered through Integrated learning and students will enhance their knowledge which will help them in their life and they will be able to handle the situation and be able to take decisions by their own. This is actually the demand of today‟s world .That‟s why researcher have chosen this topic for research. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Effectiveness of Integrated Learning on enhancement of knowledge amongst Primary level Students. OPERATIONAL DEFINITIONS : Integrated learning : A theory describing a movement toward integrated lessons helping students make connections across curricula. This higher education concept is distinct from the elementary and high school “Integrated curriculum “ movement. Primary School Level: Students studying in class 1 to 5. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROBLEM 1.

HYPOTHESIS OF THE STUDY:1.There is no significance difference between Pre-test and Post test score of integrated learning of class 1 students. 2.There is no significance difference between Pre-test and Post test score of integrated learning of class 2 students. 3.There is no significance difference between Pre-test and Post test score of integrated learning of class 3 students. 4.There is no significance difference between Pre-test and Post test score of integrated learning of class 4 students. SCOPE OF THE STUDY:-The study will be for the English medium Primary School students of Nagpur city. DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY: 1.

The study is confined for the English medium Primary School students of Nagpur City.

2. The study is for only class 1 to 5 students of Nagpur City. 3. Study is only for Bhonsala Public Scnool. VARIABLES 1.Dependent : Worksheets on different topics of Integrated Learning. 2. Independent: Pre and Post test Marks POPULATION It is impossible to study the whole population for the research work. So, it is impossible to study all school of Nagpur city. Therefore for this research study only 1 school i.e. Bhonsala Public school of Nagpur has been selected from Nagpur city SAMPLE From the Bhonsala Public School only 50 students both boys and girls were selected randomly ,i.e. boys and girls names 2were written on paper by Lottery Method. METHOD OF STUDY:-For present study on Integrated Learning researcher had adapted experimental method. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN:-The present Experiment was designed as;pretest-post testsingle group design. TOOLS To know the enhancement in the knowledge and creativity Pre Test and Post Test were conducted by the researcher for all classes. In which she has formulated questionnaire for each Class, i.e. class 1 to 5 t In the questionnaire set of 5 questions are involved according to the level of the students[ class vise]. PRE TEST AND POST TEST The Pre test was taken before the activity and post test was conducted after the activity.which include Questionnaire [ set of 5 questions for the class 1 to v] and a worksheet in which students have to draw and color different things according to their levels. PROCEDURE OF ADMINISTRATION : To develop the

sense of understanding about „YOUNG ENTERPRENEURS‟ different

activities has been taken for different levels. Through these activities researches tried to develop deep understanding about Business and Entrepreneurship in Primary level students. In these activities researcher has allotted different topics to each level students. With the help of Pre test researcher came to know that there were

very less knowledge about the

BUSINESS AND ENTERPRENEURSHIP Activity 1 for Class 1st students :-Making of book marks Researcher has conduct an activity for making a book mark. For this activity some general information about book mark had been provided i.e. What is a book mark?, Utility and importance of book mark, Making of book mark by using household things or from waste things, How to make book mark more attractive and presentable ?,Use of decorative things like colored papers, stars, glitters, artificial flowers, different types of colors etc. Demonstration :-Demonstration of

Activity 3 for Class 3 students :-Making of Photo frame For Class 3 students „Making of Photo frame‟ activity had been taken. For this activity some general information about Photo frame making had been provided i.e.Which material is used to make a Photo frame ?,Importance of Photo frame in family and for friends, Ideas and information about the material used to decorate Photo frame i.e. wooden strips, card board, stars, colored ribbons, artificial flowers, colored papers, Emotional side of photo frame. Demonstration :-Demonstration of

making Photo Frame had been given to the

children[sample] , in front of researcher and understood the procedure. Purpose of the activity :-The purpose of the activity is explained to th students that they have to sell their decorated Photo frames to the customer [parents] at the time of Carnival. After this activity same questionnaire is used for Post test which was already used during Pre test , to test the enhancement of knowledge and this time researcher has found Excellent performance by the students in compare to Pre tes t. Activity 4 for Class 4 students:- Making of Paper flowers For Class 4 students “ Making of Paper flowers” activity has been taken. papers are used to make Paper flowers?, Importance of Paper flowers in decoration of any room , place or anything, Ideas and information about the material used to make Paper flowers, Use of Paper flowers for gift to someone . Demonstration :-Demonstration of

making of Paper flowers has been given to the

children[sample] , side by side students decorated their Paper flowers in front of researcher by using different papers and understood the procedure. Purpose of the activity :-The purpose of the activity is explained to the students that they have to sell their Paper flowers to the customer [parents] at the time of Carnival.After this activity same questionnaire is used for Post test which was already used during Pre test , to test the enhancement of knowledge and this time researcher has found Excellent performance by the students in compare to Pre test. Final activity [carnival] This was the final activity through which students come to know the actual meaning of the Trade. They learn how to convince the customers and sell their product. They developed their spoken skill indirectly. By this activity

researcher has observed and

calculated the enhancement of knowledge and effectiveness of Integrated learning which is based on the topic YOUNG ENTERPRENURE among Primary students. In carnival parents of the students were invited to visit different stalls arranged by the students .All the students according to their Classs and topic allotted ,were ready with their stalls to sell their products. They have fixed the cost of their products. By selling the products they receive some amount which was of course more than the manufacturing cost of the product. By calculating the difference between the manufacturing cost and the selling cost they understand the concept of profit and loss. PROCEDURE FOR CALCULATION : The questionnaire include 5 questions based on general knowledge on the topic selected for Integrated learning. VERIFYING THE HYPOTHESIS HYPOTHESIS 1 :- There is no significance difference between Pre-test and Post test score of integrated learning of class 1 students.

and „t‟ score is 11.39. it is seen that there is a significant increase in the

knowledge enhancement from pre test to post test. hence we reject the null hypothesis. RESULT :-There is significance difference between Pre

and Post test score of class 1

RESULT : There is significance difference between Pre –test and Post –test for Class 2. HYPOTHESIS 3 :- There is no significance difference between Pre-test and Post test score of integrated learning of class 3 students.

Deviation is 1.08 and „t‟ score is 8.51.For Post test Mean score is 8.40 ,Standard Deviation is 0.97 and „t‟ score is 8.510. it is seen that there is a significant increase in the knowledge enhancement from pre test to post test .hence we reject the null hypothesis. RESULT:-There is significance difference between Pre –test and Post –test for Class 5. CONCLUSION 1. Integrated Learning is found to be more effective for children. 2. Student understand the concept more easily. 3. Post –test was more effective than Pre –test. 4. The activities conducted in Integrated Learning were more effective. 1. There is significance difference between the performance of Pre –test and Post –test of Integrated Learning. 2. Student perceptions of one another are enhanced when given the opportunity to work with one another 3. Integrated learning increases self-esteem and self-concept. 4.

Increased generation of new ideas and solution

5. Greater transfer of learning between situations SUGGESTIONS: 1. Integrated Learning can be adopted for all the school students. 2. Use of Integrated Learning activities can be conducted and added in the syllabus for Primary and Middle school level apart from Academic subjects. 3. Various training programs should be arranged by the school for teachers to implement the Integrated Learning effectively.
