KS Ultralight KS40 - 40L Size Backpack - The packs are custom made and the finest in the world in terms of weight AND function. 30L Dry Bag - My backpack is mostly waterproof but for Nepal I want some extra protection, so the material is 30 denier. This liner will keep all you gear dry. At night it could also be used as a pillow if you stuff gear in it. Gossamer Gear 1/8in foam pad - It's the padding for my backpack but I also use it to sit on during breaks and at the guest houses.

Used by mountain people all over the world, for good reason. Cheap and way better for rain when you're walking below treeline; save the goretex shells for up high. Arc'teryx Alpha SV - We were in rain only once and in blowing snow once (both in the afternoon) and was glad I brought this fully featured shell. The hood is perfect. For Nepal, have a shell with fabric that's 40d (denier) or higher, as those are more weather resistant. Montbell Storm Cruiser Gore Tex C-knit. These are bit light for mountain use, but it's what I had. We were so close to the guest house the day it rained, I never put these on. Marmot Orso Wool Blend Hoody - 203g/m2 Fabric Weight. This piece is for keeping insulated while walking (down to 15F/-10C) and it is designed to go under the wind shell. This hoody is also perfect for hanging out in tea houses. This is a piece you will wear all the time. Montane 850 Alpine - This piece is for when you stop hiking and it's cold, or when you hike when it's VERY cold. Honestly, you may only really NEED this on top of Kala Pathar. I chose this piece because it has the right amount of down fill and the baffles are boxed construction, not sewn through baffles, which greatly increases warmth.
