Now that we are at the beginning of the year, we will soon begin the process of budget planning for the next fiscal year, which begins on July 1st.
Part of the budget planning process is determining what projects to prioritize. Thanks to plans like the Downtown Master Plan, Parks Master Plan, and others, city staff prioritize projects based on public input and community meetings, making sure that citizens concerns are heard.

Over the next few months, you will see notices regarding budget hearings for the public to learn about the current financial state of the city and to hear about the FY26 budget proposals. We encourage our citizens to attend these budget hearings and review documents to be informed

Join the effort! Prepare your items and recycle with care. Our Recycling Center offers a simple, convenient way to give everyday materials a second life. A little preparation—like presorting at home and using the labeled bins helps make drop-off quick and easy.
We accept cardboard and mixed paper, clean #1 and #2 plastics, aluminum cans, and glass bottles and jars We do NOT accept items such as plastics #3–#7, grocery bags, rigid plastics, hazardous materials, appliances, and glassware Thank you for helping keep Douglasville clean and sustainable!
