Two of my most memorable Christmas holidays growing up opened my eyes to the juxtaposition offered by looking further afield to different seasons, climates and, of course, hemispheres. The first, a tropical escape to the Maldives, basking in winter sunshine, learning to scuba dive and falling in love with the Indian Ocean. The second, a more traditional festive fling to Lech, Austria, filled with Christmas, skiing, raclettes and snow. Both utterly magical, both totally different. With sun and snow within such easy reach for those willing to spread their wings, this issue serves up endless possibilities for an end-of-year snow or sunshine vacation, from Mexico to the Maldives, London to the Alps. Wherever you’ll be spending the rest of this year, be safe, have a wonderful time, and we’ll see you in 2022!
