Wine has been produced commercially in Door County for over 50 years. There’s history and tradition in the region. What started as apple and cherry wine production has transformed over the years to also include locally grown grapes and classic grape varieties brought in from all over the United States to be made by winemakers right here. It’s wine, yes, but it’s a celebration of the makers too. It’s a craft. It’s also a partnership. There are many wineries on the Door County Wine Trail. We’re all different, but that’s what makes the Trail complete. New visitors can taste their way across all wineries and find their niche. It’s a pilgrimage for annual visitors. It’s sharing an experience with friends and family to be remembered and relived year after year.
