A bright and determined 8th Grade student, Felicia has set her sights on becoming a Pediatrician a doctor who cares for children. Her love for science and her natural compassion for others inspire her goal. Felicia says she wants to help kids feel better, grow stronger, and know that someone cares about their well-being. With a warm heart and a sharp mind, she’s already preparing herself by focusing on her studies, staying disciplined, and keeping her dream in front of her. But Felicia isn’t only about schoolwork she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring her interests, and finding joy in the little things. She believes that hard work, prayer, and determination will open the doors to her future. Felicia is a shining example to her peers that you’re never too young to dream big. Her story encourages other young people to keep aiming high and to believe that with dedication, anything is possible. One day, when you walk into a hospital or clinic, don’t be surprised if you see Dr. Felicia Hinds greeting children with a smile and changing lives with her care.

T4RMJ: Can you tell us a little about yourself your age, school, and what you enjoy doing outside of class?

FH: My name is Felicia Hinds; I am fourteen years old, and I attend School of the Nations. Outside of my classroom, I like reading and photography.

T4RMJ: What are some of your favorite subjects in school, and why?

FH: My favorite subjects are history and Chemistry.

I like history because you learn about places, people, and the past, which gives you a different perspective. I also like Chemistry because it helps you to understand how things happen, and there are things you can also discover.

T4RMJ: Do you have any hobbies or talents that you enjoy in your free time?

FH: In my free time, I enjoy dancing. I attend dance classes at school.

T4RMJ: What inspired you to want to become a Pediatrician?

FH: I want to become a pediatrician because of my love for children, and I want a better and healthier beginning for every child.

T4RMJ: Do you look up to any role models, doctors, or family members who encourage you?

FH: Yes, I look up to my mom as she ensures I am taken care of, and she encourages me and takes care of all my academic needs. I also look up to my grandmother, who also takes good care of my well-being, both physically and spiritually.

T4RMJ: If you could describe your dream career in one word, what would it be and why?

FH: My dream career is to be able to have my own clinic as a pediatrician, where mothers and babies can access the best state-of-the-art care, also using traditional medicines and birthing methods.

T4RMJ: How do you prepare yourself now in school to reach your dream of becoming a doctor?

FH: I am preparing for my career by studying and focusing on my Science subjects and other subjects that will help in my career choice.

T4RMJ: What subject do you find most challenging, and how do you push through?

FH: I find mathematics to be my most challenging. I push through it by constantly going over the lessons taught.

T4RMJ: Is there a teacher or mentor who has made a big difference in your life so far?

FH: My Mathematics Teacher has made a big difference in my life; her method of teaching has helped me considerably.

T4RMJ: What do you imagine your life will look like as a Pediatrician in the future?

FH: I imagine having my own practice and using both modern and traditional ways of taking care of my patients.

T4RMJ: How do you think you will help children as a doctor?

FH: I think I'll help children’s survival rate by ensuring the mothers eat, exercise, and maintain a healthy lifestyle, and to ensure they do the same for the baby.

T4RMJ: If you could invent something to make kids healthier or happier, what would it be?

FH: I would invent a wristband that would record their emotions and thoughts with a device that would get them when they need help.

T4RMJ: What’s one fun fact about you that people might be surprised to know?

FH: One fun fact is that I really love taking pictures of myself.

T4RMJ: If you weren’t going to be a Pediatrician, what other career would you choose?

FH: The other career I would have chosen is to become a lawyer.

T4RMJ: What advice would you give to other kids your age who have big dreams like you?

FH: I would tell them to dream big, never give up on their dreams, and study hard to fulfill them.

T4RMJ: As we wrap up our spotlight on Felicia Hinds, we are reminded that greatness doesn’t wait for adulthood it begins with a dream, even while you’re young. Felicia is only 13 years old, yet she already carries the heart and determination of a future pediatrician, ready to care for children and bring comfort, healing, and joy wherever she goes.

Felicia shows us that when you stay focused, stay kind, and give your best in school and in life, God can take your dreams further than you imagine. Her commitment to learning, her desire to help others, and her big heart make her a shining example for all young leaders rising up today.

To every Junior reader: just like Felicia, your dreams matter. Whether you want to be a doctor, an artist, a teacher, or something the world has never seen before God planted that dream in you on purpose. Keep believing, keep learning, and keep shining bright. The world needs your gifts!

Felicia, we are cheering for you, praying for you, and excited to see how God uses your life to bless others. Your journey is just beginning and the best is yet to come!

MEMORY VERSE

OBEYING GOD RATHER THAN MAN

Hi boys and girls, I trust you're enjoying our Bible Stories and learning your memory verses.

TODAY'S MEMORY VERSE IS:

Acts 5:28 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!”

You see, after Jesus went to heaven, his followers, like Peter and the other apostles, kept spreading the good news about Jesus. They taught people to love God and each other.

The religious leaders didn't like this. They told the apostles, "Stop talking about Jesus!" But Peter and the apostles said, "We must obey God, not people!" (Acts 5:29). They knew God wanted them to share His love and message.

Here's what happened: The leaders arrested the apostles and put them in jail. But an angel came at night, opened the jail doors, and said, "Go back to the temple and keep teaching!"

So, the next day, the apostles were back in the temple, preaching! The leaders were amazed and brought them back for questioning. Again, Peter said, "We have to obey God's commands. We're telling people about Jesus because God raised Him from the dead!"

Kyle Lamar Alleyne Monthly Contributor

The leaders were surprised by their courage. Though they faced trouble, Peter and the apostles chose to please God. They knew that doing what's right in God's eyes is more important than pleasing people.

WHAT CAN WE LEARN?

Sometimes, we might face choices between doing what people say and doing what God wants. We may have to say no to things our friends will want us to do or say, they may want us to lie for them, or lie about where we plan to go, but you need to be brave and let them know you have to obey your parents and God.

LET'S CHOOSE GOD'S WAY!

There are so many who choose to obey God and do what's right; we have Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They were all young when they obeyed God and not people.

BIG FEELINGS, SMALL STEPS

“GROWING

BRAVE WITH GOD: HANDLING BIG FEELINGS ONE STEP AT A TIME”

“WHEN I AM AFRAID, I PUT MY TRUST IN YOU.” PSALM 56:3 (NIV)

BIG FEELINGS, LITTLE STEPS

Sometimes we all have big feelings feelings like excitement, sadness, frustration, fear, joy, or even confusion. Kids feel big things, too. And that is okay! God made us with emotions, and every feeling we have matters to Him.

In the Bible, David felt big emotions many times. Sometimes he was happy and praising God. Other times he felt scared or lonely. But David always did one thing: he talked to God about it. Psalm 62:8 says, “Pour out your hearts before Him; God is a safe place for us.”

That means we don’t have to hide our feelings or pretend we’re always okay. We can bring our tears, our smiles, our questions, and our worries to God. He listens. He cares. And He helps us one step at a time.

When big feelings show up, you don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to fix everything at once. You can take little steps small things that help your heart feel calm and remind you that God is with you.

Little steps look like taking a deep breath when you’re upset, praying when you feel nervous, writing your feelings in a journal, saying “thank You, God,” or talking to a safe adult when you don’t understand how you feel.

Every small step adds up. Every time you choose to trust God, you grow stronger inside. And just like a tiny seed grows into a tall tree, your little steps help you grow into a brave, wise, and peaceful child of God.

So remember: Big feelings are real. But God is bigger. And with Him, you can take one little step at a time. You are not alone. You are growing. And you are loved big time!

Moses: a Superstar of the Old Testament

“THE LORD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU; YOU NEED ONLY TO BE STILL.” [EXODUS 14:14]

When you hear the word superstar, you might think of athletes, singers, or superheroes. But one of the greatest heroes in the Bible didn’t wear a cape or play on TV. His name was Moses, and he was a superstar of the Old Testament because he trusted God and obeyed Him — even when it was hard.

Moses wasn’t born into an easy life. As a baby, he had to be hidden so he wouldn’t be harmed. But God protected him and placed him in a special home where he grew up strong and smart. When Moses got older, God called him to do something amazing: lead His people, the Israelites, out of slavery in Egypt. Moses didn’t feel brave or ready at first. In fact, he told God, “I can’t do this!” But God promised to be with him, and that changed everything.

With God’s help, Moses did incredible things. He stood before a powerful king and delivered God’s message. He lifted his staff and watched the Red Sea part so God’s people could walk across on dry land. He climbed a mountain and received the Ten Commandments, God’s special rules to help His people live right. Moses wasn’t powerful on his own he was powerful because he trusted and followed God.

Moses wasn’t perfect, and he had big feelings sometimes fear, frustration, and doubt. But every time, he learned to turn to God. That’s what made him a true leader. God used Moses to guide a whole nation and teach them how to follow Him.

Moses shows us that real superstars aren’t famous because of talent or popularity. Real superstars are people who listen to God, obey Him, and don’t give up, even when things feel big or scary. You don’t need a stage, a spotlight, or a special costume to be a hero for God. Just like Moses, you can trust God, take brave steps, and shine His light wherever you go.

So remember: God can use you too. You are chosen. You are called. And with God by your side, you can do amazing things one small step at a time, just like Moses.

I Can Be Thankful All Year Round — Not Just on Thanksgiving, Like

God's Word Says I Should

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)

GIVING THANKS IN EVERYTHING means when life feels easy and when life feels hard, we can still choose gratitude. Thanksgiving is not a holiday it’s a Holy Habit.

Thankfulness changes our attitude, lifts our hearts, and reminds us that God is always working for our good.

WHY BE THANKFUL EVERY DAY?

THANKFULNESS HELPS US:

✅ See God’s blessings around us

✅ Feel joy even in tough times

✅ Remember God is faithful

✅ Stay humble and grateful

✅ Grow a heart that trusts God

When we stop and think about what we DO have instead of what we don’t, our hearts stay full of peace.

Even small things count like sunshine, breathing, friendships, a hug from family, warm food, and the love of Jesus.

THANKFULNESS MAKES US STRONG

Gratitude is a spiritual superpower!

It keeps worry, sadness, and fear away. When we thank God in faith, we are saying:

“Lord, I trust You. I know You’re taking care of me.” And Heaven responds.

WAYS

TO STAY THANKFUL ALL YEAR

HERE ARE SIMPLE WAYS TO PRACTICE DAILY THANKFULNESS:

Say “thank you, God” when you wake up

Write 3 blessings in a gratitude journal

Share kindness with someone else

Sing worship songs

Tell people you appreciate them

Thank God before prayers are answered that's faith!

LITTLE STEPS CREATE A BIG THANKFUL HEART.

A GRATEFUL CHILD OF GOD

Being thankful doesn’t mean life is always perfect it means we trust that God is with us in every moment.

When we choose gratitude, we shine like lights for Jesus. We become walking reminders of His goodness and love.

Thanksgiving Day may come once a year — but thankful hearts live every day with praise.

SO REMEMBER:

I can be thankful all year rounD

because God is good all year round!

Zeke Shares A Story: The Bridge of

Forgiveness

“Be kind and forgive one another, just as God forgave you.” MEMORY VERSE: [Ephesians 4:32 ]

Zeke talks about the story: Sarah hurts Gwenna’s feelings by sharing a private secret. Gwenna is angry and cannot understand why her best friend betrays her. “Let me tell you what happened.....”

Gwenna was angry. Her best friend, Sarah, told everyone Gwenna’s secret. She still slept with her stuffed bunny. “I’ll never forgive her,” Gwenna said. That night, Gwenna read her Bible: It said, Ephesians 4:32 - “Be kind and forgive one another, just as God forgave you.”

Gwenna prayed, “God, help me forgive her.”

The next day, she saw Sarah alone on the swings. Sarah looked sorry. Gwenna took a deep breath. “I forgive you,” she said. Sarah smiled through tears. “I’m sorry, Gwenna.” They hugged, and both felt peace in their hearts. Gwenna whispered, “Thank You, God. I’ll keep trusting You.”

Lesson:

Forgive others.

Believe in God’s goodness.

Trust Him to heal your heart.

~Proverbs 3:5” Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” ~

*Why was Gwenna upset with Sarah?

*What helped Gwenna decide to forgive her friend?

*How did forgiving Sarah make Gwenna feel afterward? *

*What does this story teach us about forgiveness and trusting God?

*Can you think of a time when you needed to forgive someone or when someone forgave you?

PRAYER: Dear God, Thank You for always forgiving me when I make mistakes. Please help me to forgive others, even when it’s hard. Teach me to believe in Your goodness and trust You to guide my heart. Let Your love build bridges of peace in my life and with my friends.

ZEKE’S ROAR AND REFLECT: ROAR STANDS FOR:

R – Remember God’s Word.

O – Own Your Choices.

A – Ask for Help from God.

R – Reflect on How You can Grow.

This Week’s Focus: When you are hurting, Forgiveness and Trust will bring peace in God!

MEMORY VERSE: Mark 11:25

“When you stand praying, forgive anyone you hold something against, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you.”

~ Trusting God means letting Him guide you, even when you feel hurt. ~

LESSON EXTENDERS: “Forgiveness and Trust – Then and Now”

*How did Gwenna show forgiveness to her friend Sarah?

*How did Joseph show forgiveness to his brothers? (See page 3)

*What do both stories teach us about trusting God when we are hurt or have been treated unfairly?

HANDS-ON ACTIVITY: On construction paper, draw a bridge. Draw Gwenna on one side of the bridge and Joseph on the other side. On the bridge, write words that helped them both cross from hurt to healing: Forgiveness, Trust, Prayer, Kindness, Patience, and Faith. Add more.

*What helps you build a bridge of forgiveness when someone hurts you?

~ Romans 8:28 - “All things work together for good to those who love God.” ~

~ Joseph and Gwenna’s stories help us to see how Forgiveness, trust, and Faith in God apply both in the Bible and in real life.

TAKE AWAY:

God wants us to forgive others and believe that He can bring something good out of a bad situation.

PRAYER:

“Dear Lord, help us forgive like Joseph and Gwenna, believe like they did, and trust You to turn every hurt into something good.”

ZEKE’S DEVOTIONAL PAGE

The Story of Joseph

MEMORY VERSE: Romans 8:28

“All things work together for good to those who love God.”

ZEKE’S OPENING: “Joseph is a young boy who his father favored most amongst his 12 sons. He told them about a dream in which he said his brothers would bow to him. His brothers hated him very much! Let me tell you what happened....”

Joseph was one of twelve brothers. His father, Jacob, loved him very much and gave him a coat of many colors. His brothers became jealous. Joseph had dreams that one day his brothers would bow to him. When he told them, they grew angry and sold him for twenty pieces of silver to traders going to Egypt. In Egypt, Joseph worked hard and trusted God, but he was wrongly put in prison. Even there, God was with him.

Joseph helped to explain the dreams of others, and soon Pharaoh asked him to explain his dream too.

Pharaoh made Joseph a leader of Egypt. Joseph stored food for seven good years, and when famine came, he helped feed the people. Later, Joseph’s brothers came to buy food. They did not recognize him, but Joseph forgave them and helped his family.

LESSON:

God can use hard times for good. Forgive others and trust God’s plan. Romans 8:28. Finish writing Romans 8:28, “All things work

” Forgive others. Believe in God’s goodness. Trust Him to heal your heart.” Proverbs 3:5,

~ “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” ~

*Why were Joseph’s brothers jealous of him? What happened to him after they sold him?

*What did Joseph do when he saw his brothers again in Egypt?

*How did Joseph show that he still trusted God, even when things went wrong?

PRAYER: “Dear God, Thank You for Joseph’s story that shows us how You can turn hard times into good. Please help me to trust you, even when life feels unfair or confusing. Teach me to forgive others, just like Joseph forgave his brothers. When I face problems, remind me that You are always with me and that Your plan is bigger than mine. Help me believe that You can bring good out of every situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

World Children’s Day: You Matter to God and the World

Every year on November 20th, people all around the world celebrate World Children’s Day a special day made just for kids. It is a day to remember that every child matters, and every child deserves to feel safe, loved, heard, and valued. No matter where a child lives, what language they speak, what they look like, or what they have every child is important. And that includes you.

When Jesus walked on earth, He showed how much He cares about children. In the Bible, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14). He didn’t push kids away or ignore them. He welcomed them, blessed them, and showed everyone that children are precious to God. You are not “too little” or “too young” for God’s love or for His purpose. He sees you. He knows your heart. He has amazing things planned for your life.

World Children’s Day is not only about celebrating children, but also about remembering that there are kids around the world who need help children who don’t always have food, or school supplies, or a safe place to grow. As children of God, we can show kindness, pray for others, and look for ways to make a difference. Even small things — like including someone who feels left out, sharing a kind word, or praying for children in other countries can shine God's love in a big way.

So today, remember this truth: you are special, you are chosen, and you are loved deeply by God. And just like Jesus welcomed children with open arms, we are called to show love too. You may be young, but you are powerful. Your voice matters. Your kindness matters. Your prayers matter. And your life is a gift to the world.

Happy World Children’s Day — keep shining bright and spreading God’s love everywhere you go!
