ESOP Breakfast for Spring Hill!

Allied Crane in partner with Dondlinger helped set this beautiful statue at Church of the Magdalen that came all the way from Italy!

Tom Dondlinger, President, has been named one of the Wichita Business Journal’s 40 Most Impactful Wichitans, a special recognition celebrating the publication’s 40th anniversary. This honor reflects not only Tom’s leadership at Dondlinger, but also the lasting impact he continues to make throughout the Wichita community. His passion for people, commitment to excellence, and genuine care for those around him set the tone for the culture we’re proud to be part of every day. Congratulations, Tom, on this well-deserved recognition!

Construction sites are active, fastpaced environments where heavy equipment is constantly in motion. From skid loaders and back hoes to cranes, trenchers, lifts, and trucks, this machinery is essential to getting the job done. But it also creates serious hazards. It’s critical to respect the power and movement of this equipment at all times and never assume an operator can see or hear you. Alarms and horns can be drowned out by jobsite noise, so your awareness is often the first and best line of defense.
One of the most dangerous moments occurs when equipment is backing up. Always stay clear and never cross behind a machine in reverse. A simple misstep or trip could put you directly in harm’s way. Operators should have a spotter or the project foreman clear the area and guide them while backing, but that does not replace your responsibility to stay out of path. Likewise, never ride on steps, running boards, draw bars, or any exterior part of moving equipment, even for a short distance.
Prevention is better than cure.
Be especially mindful of pinch points and shifting loads. Swinging counterweights on cranes and similar equipment can create tight spaces where workers can be trapped. Avoid walking or standing near materials being transported, as loads can shift unexpectedly and create crushing hazards. Never walk alongside moving equipment, and never pass beneath suspended loads from cranes or hoists. When working near power lines, maintain extra caution and never touch equipment frames or load cables if there’s a chance of contact with overhead lines. If your work requires you to be near operating equipment, make sure the operator is aware of your presence and remain alert to your surroundings. Never clean, adjust, lubricate, or repair machinery while it is running, always shut it down first and replace any guards before restarting. Ultimately, the safest practice is to keep a safe distance whenever possible. Staying aware of where you are in relation to moving equipment can prevent serious injuries and, in some cases, save your life.

Dondlinger is proud to sponsor Woodman Elementary’s Touch-a-Truck event and had the pleasure of delivering a donation to support the school. The highlight of the visit? A special appearance from their adorable Principal for a Day, who helped accept the donation with plenty of enthusiasm. It was a fun and meaningful way to connect with students and give back to the community.
