May 24, 2024, Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians-Most Reverend Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo, DD, ordained two Salesians to the order of presbyterate at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Parañaque City. They are Rev. Fr. John Joseph Aguila, SDB, and Rev. Fr. Enrico Mercado, SDB, both from the Philippines–North Province (FIN). The theme of the Presbyteral Ordination was a Bible passage from the Gospel of Luke: “My Soul Magnifies the Lord!” (Lk. 1:46). His Excellency Most Reverend Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo, DD, Apostolic Vicar of Taytay, presided over the Ordination Ceremony. Fr. In his insightful homily, Bp. Pabillo shared three key points with the newly ordained priests: the importance of gratitude, their inevitable struggles, and the constant aid they can seek from Mary. He emphasized the role of Mary in our lives, drawing parallels from the Gospel narrative about the wedding feast of Cana.
