Our First XI
Our First XI is our exclusive donor team; 11 individuals or organisations whose support will make our new pitch a reality. There are just 11 places available, and we invite you to take your place in the team. Every First XI member makes the same £11,000 commitment - 11 members, one shared goal, and a lasting impact on the future of Hockey at Dollar. There are just 11 places, and once confirmed, your place in the team is permanent. We’re inviting a small group to join the First XI privately before the wider community appeal launches later this season. Places are already being confirmed, giving early supporters the opportunity to become part of the team that makes the new pitch possible, and a permanent part of Dollar’s Hockey story.
What Our First XI Receive Physical recognition at the pitch: A framed First XI Board permanently displayed in the Girls’ Pavilion, with names and your chosen kit number. Personal recognition: A personalised match-quality hockey shirt with your name and chosen kit number on the back, alongside a bespoke, high-quality ‘First XI' Certificate. An invitation to a private First XI Dinner. Recognition across school publications including the Hockey Season publications, Sports Newsletter, Fortunas and the Sports Weekend 2027 programme. Ongoing involvement: Priority access at major school hockey fixtures throughout the year, both on and off campus. An annual update letter from the Director of Hockey on how the pitch is being used. Invitation to the annual first match of the season, and FP Club involvement should you wish. Legacy: Permanent listing on the school's fundraising page. Mention in any future anniversary communications about the pitch.

Making your gift go further through tax-efficient giving There are a number of tax-efficient ways for UK taxpayers to maximise the impact of their support. Gift Aid: If you are a UK taxpayer, your donation can be increased by 25% at no additional cost to you. By completing a Gift Aid declaration, you enable Dollar to reclaim the basic rate tax already paid on your gift. For example, a gift of £11,000 can become £13,750 for the hockey astro appeal. Higher and additional rate tax relief: If you pay income tax at the higher rate (over 40%), you may be able to claim further tax relief on your donation through your Self-Assessment tax return. This means that the effective cost of your gift can be reduced while allowing Dollar to receive the full benefit of your support. For example, after tax relief, a £11,000 donation may effectively cost you £8,250 or less yet be worth £13,750 to our campaign. Please seek independent financial advice if you are unsure how these reliefs apply to your personal circumstances.
Hockey has been a cornerstone of Dollar Academy sport for generations - this new pitch is simply about giving it the surface it deserves.
