The inaugural year for the competition, then called "Qatar Primary School Choir of the Year," was an exceptionally busy one. Enlisting the collaboration of huge names such as Greg Beardsell and Dana Alfardan, securing a panel of experts and setting in motion what would become the biggest event of its kind in the land, were incredible achievements, particularly as it was a first for Doha College, the organising committee, and the participating schools.
