Autodraft Payments Autodraft payment option is available and will be withdrawn on the date of original purchase every month. To cancel you must provide 10 day written notice prior to your draft date.

Refund Policy We reserve the right to cancel or postpone any program or activity due to inclement weather or low enrollment. Prior to the start of any program/activity, a refund will be available to the registered participant if the class is cancelled. If the participant withdraws from the class and requests a refund, there will be a $10 processing fee. This refund can be in the form of a check (please allow up to two weeks for processing) or a credit on account that can be used towards a later program/activity or any membership. If a participant withdraws from a class after its first meeting date, the participant will not be eligible to receive a refund (due to payment obligations to the class instructor). All refunds are subject to approval by the Recreation Center Supervisor. Acceptable methods of payment include cash, check, and credit/debit card. No refunds will be given on memberships.

ROANOKE RECREATION

Amenities Weight Room: The Roanoke Recreation Center offers a full line of LifeFitness selectorized upper and lower body strength development equipment. A Smith machine, bench press, Olympic squat rack, dumbbells, and free-weight benches are also available. Cardio equipment includes: Precor AMTs, Elliptical Crosstrainers, LifeFitness Treadmills, Cross-Trainer Ellipticals, Exercise Bikes (Recumbent & Upright), Powermill Stair machines, a Concept 2 Rower and a SkiErg.

Gymnasium: The gym features a Mondo floor with four official height basketball nets and striping for both volleyball & pickleball. Drop-in basketball/volleyball will be available during designated times. Indoor Track: An elevated track with two lanes overlooking the gym (13.5 laps = 1 mile). Lap counters are available to check out at the front desk with a membership ID. Racquetball: Two courts are available and may be reserved by a member up to 48 hours in advance. Reservations are for one hour, beginning on the hour and may be made in person or by phone. Only one reservation can be made daily. Drop-in play is on a first-come, first served basis. Game Room: Game room includes table tennis, pool table, foosball, air hockey and big screen tv. Equipment may be checked out at the downstairs desk with a membership ID card.

*No outside personal trainers receiving compensation for services are permitted. *Must be 15 years of age to use the weightroom; except members 14 years of age, with a completed orientation & adult supervision. *Organized practices are NOT allowed (excluding reservations). ll

Barre Above

A low impact, body weight class for strength, balance, and flexibility that also incorporates light equipment like bands and discs for variety and intensity. For all fitness levels, all ages, all bodies!

Body Blaster

This 45 min all levels, full body, circuit style strength class offers lots of cardio, strength, core, and fun!! High and low intensity options. Utilize multiple types of equipment from weights, steps, bands, balls, gliders, etc. Goal is to sculpt lean muscles and increase your metabolism to burn fat more efficiently.

Cardio Kickboxing

This cardio based format is all about movement and having fun! High intensity moves consisting of jabs, hooks, uppercuts, and kicks. No equipment is used and gloves are not required. Give this fat-burning workout a try!

Dance Cardio

You don’t have to be a dancer to have fun in this class! Get your heart beating and your body grooving to a mix of music genres with repetitive choreography and intentional movements to work and tone your body.

Cardio BG

A 50 minute interval class that focuses on glute & core work. We will utilize weights and other equipment to maximize our workout. You will get strength training & cardio in the simple but effective workout for all fitness levels! International program for all fitness levels based on physiotherapy, ballet, and tai-chi. Mindy Guffey AFAA, Texas Teaching Certification in K-12 Physical Education, Dance, Health & Special Education Education: Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University Experience: I have been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 20 years. I am in my 10th year of public education, teaching physical education, special education, health, and dance; as well as a varsity gymnastics coach for 3 years. Availability: Weekends and evenings only.

Katie Viator ACTION certified Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington Experience: I have been a personal trainer since 2008 and I have been teaching boot camp style classes for 18 years. I truly believe the saying, “A body in motion, stays in motion. A body at rest, stays at rest”. My goal is to make working out fun! I am a motivator and I am passionate about health and fitness. I love helping people reach their goals. I have been teaching for the Roanoke Rec Center for 10 years. I have also trained for DFW Bootcamp for Women and Camp Gladiator. Jenny Brinegar ACTION certified Education: Bachelor’s degree in English Lit., Minor in Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Experience: I have been a Personal Trainer for over 10 years. I started as a Partner Trainer with Camp Gladiator and ran my own outdoor boot camp in 3 locations for almost 4 years. I have been with the Roanoke Recreational Center since 2019. I am a personal lover of running & have run 3 1/2 Marathons over the past few years along with MANY 5K’s in which I placed in the top 3 of my age group most races. Being a Personal Trainer is truly a passion for me! Watching others step outside of their comfort zone to attain their goals is a beautiful thing to witness. I consider it an honor & a privilege to be a part of the journey. One thing I say a lot while training is to “believe that you can & then YOU WILL!” Mindset matters & as your trainer I will not only coach you but I will cheer for you.

AFTER SCHOOL CAMP The Parks and Recreation Department offers a monthly After School Camp for children in grades K-5 who are enrolled at Roanoke and Cox Elementary. The After School Camp will provide snacks, and fun activities. Transportation is provided from the elementary school to the Recreation Center.

Blended Learning – Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Students will learn the pediatric CPR and First Aid portion through blended learning. The online course combines award-winning, engaging and interactive online simulation learning plus an inperson classroom session to learn and practice critical lifesaving skills for certification. Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric CPR/First Aid The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. This course helps participants develop: basic child care, leadership skills, build a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, and guide children's behavior. Students will learn the pediatric CPR and First Aid portion through blended learning. If you are not satisfied with a class, program or trip, please let staff know immediately so the situation can be remedied. FULL REFUNDS Full refunds will be given only if participation is not possible due to class, program or trip cancellation or a change in day, time or location initiated by staff. Refunds will not be subject to administrative charges. PARTIAL REFUNDS Partial refunds will be given if: Participation is cancelled after the class starts due to unusual circumstances (e.g. sickness or injury). The refund will be prorated minus charges for furnished supplies. All partial refunds will are subject to a $10 administrative fee. Participation is cancelled regardless of reason with notification of five (5) or more calendar days before the class/program starts. FACILITY RENTALS Community & Senior Center The Community Center is 3,300 square feet and is equipped with tables and chairs, refrigerator, ice machine, 2 stoves, microwave, and a coffee maker. Rental hours: FRIDAY: 5:00 - 10:00PM SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Half Day 8:00AM - 2:00PM or 3:00 -10:00PM Full day 8:00AM - 10:00PM Facility Rates: Residents: Half Day.........................................$200 Full Day..........................................$400 Non-Residents: Half Day.........................................$300 Full Day..........................................$600 *Facility rental accommodates up to 150 people and is available to rent for a variety of events including weddings, receptions, birthday parties, showers, meetings, etc. Deposit of $500 is due at time of rental.

Room reservations may be made at the Roanoke Recreation Center MondayThursday between 7 am and 4 pm. Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance and cannot be made more than two months in advance. All rentals must be paid in full at least three days prior to the rental date. Gymnasium rentals are available during designated times only.

Both parks have fields that can be used for baseball and softball, along with playgrounds, picnic tables and restrooms. Fields can be rented with or without lights for a maximum of 2 hours. Recreation Center & Parks Locations Roanoke Recreation Center 501 Roanoke Rd Amenities: The Recreation Center is a 38,000 square foot facility with a full weight room including cardio equipment, smith machine, bench press, Olympic squat rack, and free weights. The center also has two full size gymnasiums, two racquetball courts, an indoor track, aerobics room, and game room.
