USNA CLASS RING 2028 Jostens, in cooperation with the United States Naval Academy, is proud to be the manufacturer of the official ring of the Class of 2028. The Class of 2028 ring is the result of a year long process that began with midshipmen in the class producing artwork symbolizing the United States Naval Academy and the Class of 2028. The artwork culminated in the polished final product, produced to the stringent specifications of the Academy. Each person who wears an Academy ring can share the bond of the Academy experience with graduates from all classes. However, the midshipmen of the Class of 2028 can take further pride in the knowledge that no one can wear this particular ring except those privileged to be a part of this class. This ring is part of a limited collection, and is quite an exclusive possession.
HERITAGE & TRADITION

The idea of designing a ring to represent service academies, colleges and high schools appears to have originated at West Point in 1835, with the Class of 1836. The class designed a drum, a cannon and a saber on a heavy gold ring to distinguish members of their class. The Class of 1837 followed suit, with a new design, and the tradition has been carried out at West Point ever since. The tradition extended to the Naval Academy in the 1870s, and the Class of 1959 established it for the Air Force Academy. Throughout the years, USNA and USMA rings became increasingly ornate, eventually taking on the current design. The service academy rings feature a class crest on one side and the Academy crest on the other, with a bezel surrounding a stone or similar inset on top. Tradition dictates that the midshipman wears the class crest facing him or her until graduation, when the ring is turned around so that the Academy crest faces the wearer. This tradition links the wearer more closely to his or her class until graduation and to all other Naval Academy alumni after graduation.

Your ring is a valuable recognition of your accomplishments. That is why the Academy designates 14K gold in the official Academy specifications. 14K is also the jeweler’s standard in this country. For those midshipmen who desire a higher gold content in their ring, 18K gold is available. For those wishing a more economical gold ring, 10K gold is available. STYLES AND QUALITY The Official Ring is priced to include a buff top, genuine black onyx, blue onyx, green onyx, sardonyx, or any smooth or faceted synthetic stone, one line of engraving inside, and traditional medium or dark antique finish. All other stones and options are in addition to the basic ring prices listed here.
COMBAT RINGS Any member of the Class of 2028 who orders a gold ring may order a non-gold (Lustrium) “Combat Ring” for $189. This ring comes with traditional Dark antiquing and the standard palm side, one line of engraving, and any smooth or faceted synthetic stone or Black Onyx, Blue Onyx, Green Onyx, or Sardonyx stone. Most upgrades available on the official gold rings are available on the Lustrium combat rings as well. Gold Official ring must be paid in full to receive Combat ring for reduced price.
ACADEMY RING POLICY Each midshipman may purchase one gold ring and one combat ring of the same size for their personal use. Naval Academy rings may only be worn by second class midshipmen after ring dance, first class midshipmen, and graduates of the Naval Academy. They may not be given, sold, or worn by anyone other than that midshipman/graduate. This policy protects the sacred heritage and traditions of the Naval Academy ring and the sacrifice of those graduates who wear them. Midshipmen who wish to purchase gifts for their parents and others will find a selection of small and crest jewelry in this catalog perfect for all occasions.
GOLD TOPS These beautiful and elegant gold tops are available in a variety of designs. The tops can be set with a solitaire diamond or genuine stone to enhance the beauty of your ring. Actual samples will be on display when you order your ring.

This meteorite fell to earth over 10,000 years ago in Africa. It is made up of 91.8% Iron and 7.7% Nickel and also contains small amounts of Cobalt, Phosphorus, Iridium, Gallium, and Germanium. The 2028 ring dance charm is designed to be worn on a necklace or bracelet and is a representation of your Academy ring. This charm comes with a Dark Blue Spinel faceted stone and is made out of a non-precious material. The price is $65.
USNA RING - TERMS PAYMENT INFORMATION
RING SIZING To properly size your finger, a ring sizer should fit snugly over the knuckle of the finger on which you will wear your ring. The ring is normally worn on the ring finger of the right hand. Also, be aware that your left and right hand can vary in ring size. Full and half sizes are available. A Jostens representative will be available to assist you at the time you place your order.
In order to comply with Payment Card Industry (PCI) Standards, Jostens will not be accepting any credit or debit card information at the time of ordering. We have developed a secure and simple process that allows for flexibility and convenience. Please refer to the following guidelines for credit/debit card payments:
CUSTOMER STONES
Upon placement of your order(s), you will be given a payment due date which will be located on the front of your order form. This date is when your final payment will be due to Jostens. By complying with this date you will insure that your items will ship with your Class.
All customer supplied stones must be accompanied by a registered jewelers appraisal form. The form must include the following information on it:
You have 30 days from the time that you place your order(s) to make any changes. After the 30 days your order(s) will be entered into production in which time you will no longer be able to make any changes.
If the stone is a Diamond the following information must be included: Carat Size, Cut, Color and Clarity.
You will need to allow (5) weeks from the time you place your order(s), after the (5) weeks you will then be able to log onto: Jostens.com/payments to set up your personal account and begin making payments. Once you have set up this information you will begin receiving e-mail notices until your account is paid in full.
If the stone is a full stone (12 x 10, 10 x 8, 8 x 6, 7 x 5, or a 5 x 3), the measurements need to be on the appraisal form in millimeters and they need to be to the specifications that are listed below. No stones will be accepted that are not to these specifications. All appraisals must include a replacement price. If the stone is an heirloom stone we will need a replacement value. If the stone was purchased then we will need a copy of the sales receipt. All stones must be loose and free from any mounting. Stones will not be accepted if they are still in a mounting. Because of the extremely tight tolerances, personal stones under 10 points will not be accepted.
MEASUREMENTS FOR CUSTOMER SUPPLIED STONES All Customer stones must be to these exact measurements. There cannot be a variance as these stones have a stone setting edge. One exception is the depth of the stone which can be less but not more than the measurement listed.

All stones will be inspected by Jostens manufacturing plant for final approval. this approval process can take up to 90 days from the time we receive your stone. All stones must be presented along with the jewelers appraisal when you place your ring order. Customer stones must be received within 30 days from the date you placed your ring order. If you lose your ring, your personal stone or stones are not covered under jostens protection insurance. Additional Charges incurred when setting a customer stone: stone setting charge $175.00. Stone set in a tube set, or a white gold top: add $75.00 to the setting charge for a total charge of $250.00
CANCELLATION POLICY Any Midshipmen who cancels any items after the 30 days after placing their order will incur a $250.00 cancellation fee which is nonrefundable and will be added onto his/her remaining order.
INSURANCE Jostens will provide each midshipman Free Ring Loss Protection that will be in effect three years following the receipt of the ring. Jostens will reproduce an exact duplicate of the lost ring free, excluding the cost of any precious stones and elegant options. Upon report of a loss in writing, Jostens will verify the information from its records and validate the information with the Academy. We encourage midshipmen to carry their own insurance to cover precious stones and diamonds.
JOSTENS LIFETIME WARRANTY Jostens has a lifetime warranty on all of its rings. That includes, but is not limited to, replacement of all stones, both genuine and synthetic, that are defective or broken, without charge. Also included in the lifetime warranty is resizing, polishing and refinishing the ring, without charge. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IF A RING HAS HAD ANY REPAIR WORK PERFORMED OR ANY ALTERATIONS COMPLETED BY ANY JEWELER OR REPAIR SERVICE OTHER THAN JOSTENS, THE LIFETIME WARRANTY WILL BE VOIDED.
