Kendy Marr Salvador Licensed Architect

about the author

I am a licensed architect with professional experience working under a private architectural firm specializing in high-rise residential and commercial developments. My professional work involves high-rise construction projects and close coordination with multidisciplinary engineering consultants, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams, to ensure technically sound, well-integrated, and efficiently executed architectural solutions.

Alongside my professional practice, my personal design work focuses on small-scale spaces that emphasize user-centered planning, convenience, and functionality, without sacrificing architectural beauty and elegance. Through these projects, I explore how thoughtful spatial organization and detail can enhance everyday living within compact environments.

I am skilled in concept development, technical documentation, visualization and proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, Photoshop, InDesign etc. I seek opportunities to further contribute my expertise to complex, collaborative, and design-driven architectural projects.

KITCHEN RENOVATION

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

This project involves the renovation of an existing small kitchen located in Balagtas, Bulacan. The client envisions a minimalist kitchen that balances functionality and elegance — a space that is efficient for daily use while maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic.

The renovation will focus on optimizing space, improving workflow, enhancing storage solutions, and elevating the overall visual appeal without compromising practicality.

BAGUISA’S HOUSE SECOND FLOOR EXTENSION

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

This project involves the design and construction of a second-floor extension to an existing rowhouse residence located in Plaridel, Bulacan.

As a typical rowhouse configuration, the property is separated from adjacent units by firewalls on both sides and is directly facing the subdivision road. These conditions present a significant architectural challenge: achieving privacy while still providing ample natural ventilation and generous daylight access within a compact footprint.

The extension aims to expand the living space while creating a comfortable, climate-responsive, and private upper-level retreat.

NIKKI’S HOUSE EXTENSION

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The project involves the design and development of a residential extension located in Quezon City, Philippines. The existing condition presents a major design challenge: a highly irregular space configuration resulting from prior construction constraints and property boundaries.

The primary goal of the project is to transform this irregular footprint into a fully functional, efficient, and cohesive living environment, ensuring that every portion of the space is purposeful and usable.

A key client requirement is the integration of the Living, Dining, and Kitchen areas into a single open-plan layout, promoting spatial fluidity and maximizing usability.

BIGKIS:

A Human-Centric Design Approach to a Community Mall in Paombong Bulacan

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Malls, in general are considered a positive space for recreation, but in reality most malls are not serving its role as a public space, hence being limited only to consumerism.

With this, Project Bigkis aims to create a balance between the community itself and finacial considerations, through externalization of spaces and better integration into the surrounding context

SERENDIPITY:

Interweaving Landscape and Built Environment through Adaptive Design

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

“Building structures responds to the social fabric of the area by providing a place for people to experience their natural surroundings”

The design of the structure is based on the fragmentation of a simple volume to articulate the uses of the house in a modular way, thus creating a superimposed structure that mimics the natural contour of the lot.

The edifice also features natural building materials, blending it with the existing landscape.

ANCESTRAL HOUSE: Adaptive Reuse of a Built Heritage

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Located in San Nikolas, Bulakan, Bulacan--this Ancestral House [built in 1865] was formerly owned by Maria Rodrigo, famously known for Juan Luna’s inspiration for the ‘La Bulakenya’.

However, eversince the structure was built in the 80’s it has never been renovated nor remodelled. Thus, in order to to breathe a new life into the building, the project aims on repurposing the use of the edifice whilst maintaining its distinct architectural features, through adaptive reuse.

In this regard, the lower floor will serve as a family- owned diner, while the upper floor will be used as a sleeping and family area for the mé·nage.
