Forge CEO Miller Looks Forward to New Opportunities By Grant Morgan Paul Miller, CEO of Forge, used his Thursday morning opening remarks at the CEDIA Expo Smart Stage to address questions surrounding the show’s future following Apollo Global Management’s acquisition of Emerald and Questex. He made one point very clear: CEDIA Expo isn’t going anywhere. “This is not the last CEDIA Expo,” Miller said, directly addressing rumors circulating around the industry. “We’re going to see you in Vegas next year, and we’re going to continue to invest in this product.” Miller, who spent most of his career in semiconductors and component technology before joining Forge, said his experience gives him an appreciation for how the technologies represented at CEDIA Expo come together to create complete solutions for the home. He described CEDIA Expo as the largest dedicated residential AV systems integration show in the United States, bringing together buyers, sellers, and professionals focused on the connected home. That position also comes with a responsibility, he said, particularly as the industry and the event evolve. Miller acknowledged that audio and video remain fundamental to residential integration, but pointed to a larger opportunity in what he called the “total home.” That includes lighting, energy management, security, outdoor technology, and, increasingly, AI.

Integrators are also working more closely with architects, designers, builders and other professionals, Miller noted, making the ability to deliver a broader connected-home experience increasingly important. But he stressed that expanding the show’s scope won’t come at the expense of its core audience. The goal, he explained, is to build opportunities around the integrator rather than move away from the traditional AV integration business. “We are the place where the professional integrator remains at the heart of CEDIA Expo,” Miller said. Miller closed by looking ahead to next year’s CEDIA Expo in Las Vegas, promising a larger event and reiterating Forge’s commitment to the show.
AWOL VISION, BOOTH 4019 In keeping with its new slogan, “Bring Wonder Home,” AWOL Vision unveiled AWOL LuxVision, its 4K 120Hz ultra-short throw projector with optical shift, at CEDIA Expo 2026. The brand’s new flagship projector features 6000 ISO lumens to keep colors vivid, even in daylight, for screen sizes up to 200 inches. Pictured from AWOL Vision are (from left) Jun Hu, Bond Xu, Yilong Chen, and Zeyu Tang.
Crestron Configure Pro Speeds Project Delivery BOOTH 2000 Built for the realities of modern smart home projects, Configure Pro simplifies system configuration through standardized, no-programming workflows that reduce setup friction, shorten training cycles, and help dealer teams maintain consistency across projects as their businesses grow. Can’t-Miss Demo Rooms The demo rooms at CEDIA Expo offer a combined experience that you can’t find anywhere else. The lines to get in may be long, but it’s worth it! Here are a few demos to take in while you still have time. Pro Audio Technology & Theory Audio Design (HPA 202): In HPA 202, attendees can hear nearly the entire Theory product lineup along with a Pro Audio Technology surround system. Theory is previewing two yet-to-be-released products including a new pendant loudspeaker, the p9. Slated for release late 2026, p9 unites lively dynamics, high maximum output level, and refined acoustic performance in a slender package. PRO and Theory will run demonstrations every hour on the hour (except for noon) during show hours. Paragons of Home Cinema: Episode II 9.4.6 Dolby Atmos Demo (SR7): The SR7 experience combines Lumagen’s ArtisaN 8K Ready video and audio processor, Christie’s 4K1000-KS projector, Stewart Filmscreen’s VistaScope Evo masking screen, NextLevel Acoustics’ Cinema Series loudspeakers, Stor-

Legacy Awards Winners Honored at WiCT Luncheon By Nina Snyder Hosted by Crestron’s VP of hospitality, Michelle Guss, Thursday’s Women in Consumer Technology (WiCT) luncheon at CEDIA Expo honored eight women in the integration industry for their unique contributions to the field. Winners of the Legacy Awards emphasized the power of mentorship to ensure women can succeed in a male-dominated industry. “Success isn’t just what you achieve, it’s who you bring with you,” said Wendy Griffiths, senior VP of membership, global development, and operations at CEDIA. Griffiths received the Carol Campbell Inspiration Award for her two decades of service at CEDIA. Heather McMilleh, director of ecommerce at AudioQuest and winner of this year’s Woman to Watch award, echoed the sentiment. “We get to make it safe for other women to be ambitious,” she said. Lori Runco, retired CEO of Runco International and an Honoree this year, reflected on starting out in the business in the 1980s—when very few women were part of the industry. “Joining CEDIA not only taught me so much, but it brought me a new family,” she added. Kat Wheeler, partner and strategic director at TIG Global PR, received the Volunteer of the Year Award. “If you want something to exist, you have to

make it exist,” she said. Other award members continue to cultivate the next generation of talent. For example, Wendy Feldstein, SVP of design at Creston Electronics and Technical Excellence Award winner, helps a local Girl Scout troop in North Carolina with science, technology, engineering, and math projects. Feldstein, a mechanical engineer, emphasized the importance of mentoring the younger generation to spark an interest in STEM. “I mentor anyone who happens into my peripheral view,” she joked. Michelle Ferlauto, an Honoree and COO of SoundVision, underscored the importance of women
helping each other. “Your true legacy is the number of people you help,” she noted. Jamie Pasley, an Honoree and general manager for JVC’s home theater projector and custom installation division, also said she enjoys helping others. “There is honestly no better feeling than motivating others to do their best,” Pasley said. Sarah Dresher, an Honoree and owner and CEO of Luxury Integrated Technologies, shared her journey from electrical engineering to owning her own company. She encouraged women to find their voice. “Know that your perspective has value,” Dresher said. “Your voice deserves to be heard.”

EXECUTIVE INSIGHT
Sony Brings Big Product Launches to Expo BOOTH 2500 Sony is once again making the scene with an eye-catching booth that is brimming with the latest tech from the company. Kathleen Thomas, head of custom install, Sony Electronics, takes us behind the scenes. What are Sony’s priorities and goals for CEDIA Expo? KATHLEEEN THOMAS: This year was a big launch year with our True RGB TVs, BRAVIA 9 II, and BRAVIA 7 II. The other theme we are bringing and one that I am passionate about is the importance of community in the channel. Moments like CEDIA Expo are so important for bringing vendors, reps, press, and integrators of every size together for the valuable conversations that drive product and program innovation. The big news for the show this year is sure to be Sony’s new Mini LED RGB technology. What’s been the industry’s reaction?
KT: We put a lot of energy into the launch. We were on the road for almost two months showing product to dealers before it was even announced. The thing that sustained us was the energy from the dealers. It wasn’t just the reaction to the picture quality. The value that we brought with the CI Exclusive RGB models was very well received. In terms of trends, which Sony products are most in demand from integrators? KT: We are seeing a general trend toward the integrator as a service provider, which is why the CI Exclusive models resonated. It extends the warranty to three years—and for the integrator, they have a very easy simple process to take care of their customer without the hassle of return authorizations and shipping back a large TV. What will dealers who are interested in Sony products learn at this year’s exhibit?
KT: They will learn that we understand and support the custom integration channel, and we will continue to find new and innovative ways to support the dealer. We have a dedicated team of sales and support in addition to our reps. While Sony is a big company, the CI team is dedicated to a supportive, human approach that you usually find at a small company. I am proud that Sony understands the importance of the channel and lets us operate that way.
Torus Power Shows Flexible Power Solutions
TCL NORTH AMERICA, BOOTH 3200 Scott Ramirez shows off TCL’s X11L SQD Mini LED TV. Designed to elevate the home theater experience, SQD Mini LED combines a Deep Color System with 100% BT.2020 color with high peak brightness, deep black levels, audio by Bang & Olufsen (in select models), and screen sizes up to 98 inches.
BOOTH 1914 At CEDIA Expo, Torus Power is featuring wall-mounted versions of the RM Series and AVR-2 ELITE Series, ideal for projects requiring dedicated electrical rooms, utility spaces, or centralized equipment locations. By allowing dedicated power lines to be routed precisely where they are needed, these models provide greater installation flexibility while preserving valuable rack space. Both product families are available for 120V, 240V, and select three-phase applications, making them well suited for high-performance residential AV systems. Torus Power also is demonstrating its All-in-One (AIO) panel, which combines toroidal isolation, industrial-grade surge protection, and circuit-level power distribution into a single enclosure. Originally developed for professional recording studios, the AIO simplifies installation while delivering clean, isolated, conditioned power to every connected circuit, improving system reliability and long-term equipment performance.
SI and SI Launch ATEN AI-Powered Support Agent BOOTH 2818 Screen Innovations (SI) and Shade Innovations are introducing ATEN, an AI-powered support assistant built exclusively for their global network of dealers and installers. Named after the Egyptian sun god whose light reached everyone, ATEN delivers instant technical support 24/7/365 through text or voice on virtually any device. Purpose-built for the custom integration industry,

Roundtable: The Future Is Experiences, Not Products By Grant Morgan The future of custom home integration isn’t about selling homeowners more technology. Instead, it’s about understanding how they live and using technology to create experiences for them and their families. That was a central theme of “What Every Integrator Needs to Know About the Next Five Years,” a Thursday morning CEDIA Expo Smart Stage roundtable featuring Mellisa Andresko of Lutron, Michael Short of Crestron, Nick Berry of Origin Acoustics, Kathleen Thomas of Sony, Matt Kamp of ADI Global, and moderator Dan Ferrisi of Forge. Overwhelmingly, the panelists said homeowners increasingly don’t care about individual brands, specifications, or even the technology itself. What they want from an integrator is a home that works for them. That means integrators need to change the conversation with clients. Instead of asking what products they want, they should be asking how a family

uses its home. Kamp described the emerging role as that of a “technology architect,” similar to the way an architect works with a homeowner to understand how each room will be used. The difference is that the integrator is designing what happens within those spaces. “It’s not just selling SKUs—it’s what do you want to do in this room and how are you going to
use it,” Berry offered. “It’s a fundamental change for our profession where we become the architects of technology, and I think that is where we’re going to be in five years.” The panelists also emphasized the importance of making technology nearly invisible. Homeowners want what the panel described as “invisible luxury,” technology working in the background without requiring them to think about it. AI and interoperability could help integrators achieve that goal. As systems become more connected, integrators will have greater freedom to combine lighting, audio, video, shading, security, networking, and energy management into a single experience. AI could also make it easier to personalize those experiences while helping integrators configure, diagnose, and manage systems more efficiently. But the technology isn’t the point. The panelists repeatedly returned to the idea that integration is both a science and an art. The best systems create feelings and memories rather than simply delivering technical performance.

Magnetar Positioned for Physical Media Comeback By Anthony Savona
physical media player still presents some level of challenge. A lot of dealers aren’t thinking that way, or they say, “My customers are just buying Kaleidescape.” We respond to that with: It’s not an either/or proposition. We have a lot of customers that have both, because they have disc libraries, plus there are 80-other-plus countries that don’t have Kaleidescape that we serve globally.
BOOTH 4103 Is physical media making a comeback? Rob Jones, president of Magnetar North America, believes so, and he is here with the latest addition to the company’s line of universal media players. Here, he discusses how these formats can play a big role in high-end AV installations. What are your goals and plans for CEDIA Expo this year? ROB JONES: We are announcing a new ultrapremium player—more premium than the premium we have—called the ULTIMA, which is a dual-chassis, DC-assisted transport. There is no analog at all; it’s pure digital. What we’ve done is build the ultimate transport and a separate power stage driving that transport purely with DC. So, we’re eliminating pretty much any type of noise or issues that AC power can present. It will support all the formats that our current operating platform does, but it also adds things
like DOP—DSD over PCM—which our current players don’t. This will be your third CEDIA Expo. Are integrators starting to recognize Magnetar? RJ: From a brand perspective, we’ve become the go-to. Brand familiarity is definitely permeating, but the ideology of why someone would want a
So, there is still a lot of education required at this point? RJ: The education comes in two steps. Number one is to get the psychology and the thinking of the dealer to say, “Maybe I do have some customers here that need this.” The other side is understanding that it’s not just a silver disc spinner. It’s a file player for any format via network, NAS, or USB up to 16 TB. It plays SACD and DVD-Audio. One of the simplest ways I explain it is: Kaleidescape is Kindle, and we’re the physical books. It’s digital ownership versus physical ownership.

Leon Spotlights Framebar Ultima Soundbar BOOTH 1719 FrameBar Ultima is the pinnacle of Leon Speakers’ custom soundbar collection, bringing the reference-grade performance of our acclaimed Ultima audio platform to the award-winning design of FrameBar. Handcrafted to match the exact width and finish of Samsung’s The Frame TV, Leon’s Edge Flex Frame, or the Leon Studio Frame for Sony BRAVIA, FrameBar Ultima transforms the television into a seamlessly integrated entertainment centerpiece without compromising aesthetics. Built for discerning listeners, FrameBar Ultima features the same high-performance acoustic architecture found in Leon’s flagship Horizon Ultima speakers. Handmade five-inch woven polypropylene woofers deliver exceptional accuracy and dynamic range, while world-class one-inch cloth-dome tweeters reveal every detail with outstanding clarity and an extraordinarily flat frequency response. The result is transparent, immersive sound that faithfully recreates music, movies, and television exactly as intended.
Begone Power Supply Clutter with Blustream PWR8VDC BOOTH 3211 Blustream’s PWR8VDC modernizes power management for today’s residential AV racks, where compact components, network hardware, extenders, converters, streaming devices, and accessories often require different voltages or USB power. Traditionally, these products rely on individual wallwart adapters, creating clutter, consuming outlets, increasing failure points, and making troubleshooting and remote management difficult. The IU-chassis PWR8VDC replaces multiple
power supplies with a centralized, professional platform with eight independently configurable DC outputs supporting 5V, 9, 12, 18, or 24 volts, alongside eight managed USB-A ports. This allows integrators to consolidate mixed low-voltage power require-
ments while creating more organized racks. Each outlet can be independently monitored, metered, and controlled. Dealers can track voltage, current, power, and energy consumption; remotely restart individual devices; create operating schedules; and establish power-on and power-off sequences. An integrated eight-channel Watchdog uses ICMP or TCP monitoring to identify unresponsive equipment and automatically restart it, potentially resolving problems before customers request service.

BOOTH 1300 Pro Audio Technology (PRO) is showing upgraded models of five of its high-performing loudspeakers including: LFC-24sm 24-inch subwoofer, SR-28212ai dual 12-inch full range surround speaker with internal subwoofer, S-12sm 12-inch multi-use loudspeaker and its SR-12ai shallow version brother, and the compact-but-powerful, SR-8ai eight-inch shallow multi-use loudspeaker. By leveraging upgraded transducers combined with the highest-resolution loudspeaker processing in the company’s 22-year history, PRO has brought substantial, tangible performance enhancements to the five models. Continuous improvement is one of the many benefits to purchasing PRO systems, and since the PRO engineers are crazy perfectionists, they are also constantly improving the voicing of their loudspeakers and subwoofers. The speaker voicing for all PRO loudspeakers resides in the Theory loudspeaker controllers, and whenever there is an improved voicing made available for a PRO loudspeaker model, a simple firmware update brings that improvement to any project with a few simple mouse clicks. And best of all, the performance improvements are free. PRO’s upgraded SR-28212ai dual 12-inch full range surround speaker with internal subwoofer

The platform reduces the burden of maintaining payment security standards and helps protect customer payment information without requiring extra work from office staff. Instead of worrying about changing regulations, contractors can focus on running their business while iWallet handles compliance behind the scenes. iwallet.com | Booth #C915

Companies like DreamWall are seeing significant overlap between the residential and commercial AV markets.
Consumer Demand Is Driving Light Commercial Trend for Integrators By Mark J. Pescatore As residential integrators gather at CEDIA Expo, manufacturers are helping them expand their potential business opportunities into light commercial work. And that line between consumer and commercial products? It’s never been more blurred. Noah Meicler, president of DreamWall (Booth 1332), is seeing significant overlap between the residential and commercial AV markets. “Technologies once reserved for large commercial environments are increasingly finding their way into luxury homes, while residential expectations for exceptional Noah Meicler design, simplicity, and ease of use are influencing commercial projects as well,” he explained. Marc Bertrand, chief strategy officer for Theory Audio Design and Pro Audio Technology (Booth 1300), has observed a consistent element of light commercial work through residential Marc Bertrand channels for decades. Light commercial trends tend to be project-based, Bertrand says, so the product areas follow the projects. “The growth is mainly driven by client relationships, customer referrals, and trust,” Bertrand added.
“There are some integrators and dealers in the CI channel that are strategically building their commercial departments, which then propels them into more commercial opportunities.” Just Video Walls (Booth 3000) is still focused heavily on the residential market, but Skyler Meek, chief marketing officer, said video walls are showing the most overlap between markets. In fact, many of the company’s residential dealers are brought into commercial Skyler Meek projects by their homeowner clients. “The video wall market really developed first in the commercial world, so residential is just now seeing the boom,” Meek explained. “What’s interesting is that the requirements are starting to converge, too. Residential clients want the scale, brightness, reliability, and performance that historically drove commercial video wall adoption—but they expect it to be packaged in a way that belongs in a luxury home. Meanwhile, commercial clients are increasingly concerned with aesthetics, design, and creating an experience rather than simply putting a big display on a wall.” As to what’s driving the product overlap, Meek looks to customer expectations. “A homeowner who has an incredible AV experience at home expects the technology in their office to work just as seamlessly. And a client who sees an enormous dvLED display in a hospitality or entertainment environment starts
asking, ‘Why can’t I have that at home?’” he argued. “At the same time, integrators are looking for new categories where they can bring meaningful value and protect their margins. That creates a natural opportunity for residential integrators to follow their existing clients into commercial projects and vice versa.” For DreamWall, Meicler said the crossover between markets is a natural fit. “The same core MicroLED technology can serve a home theater, outdoor entertainment area, corporate boardroom, hospitality environment, retail space, or large-scale commercial installation. What changes is how we engineer and configure the solution for each specific application,” he added. Meek agreed that MicroLED is a “really natural” crossover product. “Whether it’s a luxury residence, sports bar, boardroom, nightclub, or hospitality space, the fundamental ask is becoming very similar: Give me a massive, beautiful image without forcing the room to compromise around the display.” However, the challenge is expertise. “Products like MicroLED can cross markets very easily,” Meek says, “but designing, specifying, installing, and supporting them correctly still requires specialized knowledge. I think manufacturers who can remove that complexity for the integrator are going to play a big role in accelerating the crossover.” As far as balancing the aesthetic needs of the residential space with the performance requirements of the commercial space, Meicler doesn’t want customers to have to choose. “A display can deliver incredible visual impact without overpowering the room,” he noted. “That’s one of the biggest advantages of dvLED. We can create seamless displays in a wide range of sizes, resolutions, and configurations that integrate naturally into the architecture, rather than forcing the space to accommodate a traditional display.” “This is a no-brainer for us,” Bertrand said, “because balancing the aesthetic needs of resi with the performance requirements of commercial is exactly how Theory was conceived. You won’t find two sets of products in our catalog; every Theory speaker is specifically designed to address the needs of both segments.” Meek said certainty is more important than either aesthetics or performance requirements. “None of the things on a spec sheet matter if the wrong product shows up, the wall isn’t designed or installed correctly, or there isn’t a real plan for commissioning, service, and long-term support,” he said. “That’s especially true with MicroLED, because there are so many places where a project can go sideways before the wall ever turns on. “So, for us, whether it’s residential or commercial, the goal is to remove as much uncertainty as possible.”
