EXP US Services, the consultant for the 2nd Street Improvements Project, has prepared four design concepts to share with the community. These concepts explore potential improvements to safety, accessibility, and overall corridor functionality.
The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency will host the Old St. Anastasia Master Plan Workshop on Wednesday,February18,2026,from4:30pmto6:30pm attheRiverWalkCenter,locatedat600N.IndianRiverDrive.Theworkshop willbeheldinadrop-informat,allowingattendeestoparticipateatanytime duringtheevent.
The interactive meeting will feature conceptual designs prepared by Cotleur & Hearing in collaboration with REG Architects, informed by community feedback gathered through a recent survey. Participants will have the opportunity to review the concepts, engage with the project team, and provideinputtohelpshapethefinalmasterplan.

MasterPlan
The Lincoln Park Redevelopment Master Plan is underway, encompassing the area from U.S. Highway 1 to 33rd Street and from Avenue B to Avenue Q, in partnershipwiththeTreasureCoastRegionalPlanningCouncil(TCRPC).
TCRPC has completed stakeholder interviews and will participate in Youth CouncilmeetingsinFebruary2026.
The first community workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 5:30 pm at the Lincoln Park Community Center located at 1306 AvenueMinFortPierce.The community workshops will provide residents and stakeholders the opportunity to share input and help shape the future of LincolnPark.
MARINA SQUARE

The project consultants recently conducted two days of work sessions with key stakeholders, including Downtown business owners, staff from the City, St. Lucie County Library, and Marina, as well as representatives from the Farmers’ Market and Jazz Fest Society. These discussions focused on the future vision for Marina Square,withparticularemphasisonparkingneedsandoperations.
Inaddition,theconsultantsengagedwithparentsoutsideofthelibrarytogather feedback on park usage and ways to better accommodate families. As a next step, Inspire will present to the Parking Committee at the February 11, 2026 meeting, sharing conceptual parking designs, a refined parking strategy, proposedemergencyandserviceaccessroutes,andenhancedpublicaccessto thewaterfront.
INFRASTRUCTUREIMPROVEMENTS

WorkontheIndianRiverDriveCorridorProjectcontinuestoprogress.Piledriving operations are ongoing to prepare for the temporary utility bridge, which is requiredpriortothedemolitionoftheexistingMoore’sCreekBridgeduetoFPUA’s 18-inch forcemain being attached to the current structure. Electrical relocations are underway, storm drainage construction began last week, and water and sewerutilityrelocationworkisinprogress.Inaddition,installationofthesheetpile wallpanelsalongMoore’sCreekhasbegun.
AvenueDReconstruction
The City of Fort Pierce continues to advance improvements along Avenue D, including resurfacing from 29th Street to U.S. 1 and full reconstruction from U.S.1toIndianRiverDrive.
The City Commission approved a construction contract with C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. for Avenue D resurfacing (29th Street to U.S. 1) A preconstruction meeting is anticipated to be scheduled within the next few weeks and construction is expectedtobegininthecomingmonths.
PARKING INFRASTRUCTURE
Thecontractorcompletedconcreteinfillalongtheedgesoftheparkinglotto finalize and stripe additional parking spaces near the dumpster enclosure. The color for the dumpster enclosure has been selected, and the contractor hasstartedpaintingtheenclosures.

FinalconstructionplansareexpectedtobecompletedbytheendofJanuary 2026. Once the plans are finalized and any remaining comments are addressed, the project will be advertised for bid. Construction is anticipated to begin by the end of May 2026, with work scheduled during the summer monthstominimizeanyimpactontheschool.
GATEWAY SIGNS

As the final step of the FPRA’s comprehensive wayfinding gateway entrance signs will be installed at key entry points throughout the city. Each sign has been designed to accommodate illumination, offering an opportunitytofurtherenhancetheirvisibilityandimpactafterdark.

The City of Fort Pierce has requested an extension for the Highwaymen Museum grant, moving the deadline to June 30, 2026. This extension, expected to be approved will not affect the project’s funding or progress. It simply provides additional time to complete all grant-funded work, which is still on track for a projectedcompletiondateofDecember30,2025.
The Highwaymen Museum project continues to move steadily toward its next milestone,withasoftopeningplannedtoalignwiththeHighwaymenFestivalon Saturday, February 21, 2026. The contractor is in the process of closing out permitsforsitework,parkinglotimprovements,thedumpsterenclosure,andthe mainbuilding,alltargetedforcompletionbyJanuary30,2026.

TheFortPierceRedevelopmentAgencylaunchedtheYouthBannerArtShowcaseto highlight and celebrate local student creativity. The program received an enthusiasticresponse,with82FortPiercestudents fromkindergartenthroughhigh school submittingoriginalartwork.Studentdesignswillbeshowcasedonbanners displayed throughout the Peacock Arts District. The names of the participating studentsandtheirdesignsarelistedbelow.
AspartoftheFiscalYear2026projectstheFPRABoardapprovedtheaward of the Trash and Recycling Receptacles Bid to Big Belly, LLC for the manufacturing and installation of trash and recycling receptacles throughoutDowntownFortPierce,theRiverWalk,andJettyPark.Theproject includes the installation of approximately 93 new trash and recycling receptaclesinthesehigh-trafficareas.
TheBigBellyreceptaclesofferamodern,high-qualitysolutionthatincludes solar-powered compacting technology to reduce collection frequency and prevent overflow. Select units will be wrapped with custom graphics and include interchangeable inserts that can be used to promote community eventsandinitiatives.

This program provides reimbursable grants of up to $5,000 per property to help existing businesses upgrade outdated signage with modern, visually appealing designs. 2025 Recap
The Freebee program continued to be a strong mobility resource for the community in 2025, providing convenient, no-cost transportation throughout the year. Atotalof56,743rideswerecompleted,serving77,365passengers, highlightingcontinueddemandfortheservice.
The majority of riders requested trips through the Freebee mobile app, with 46,159ridesbookedviatheapp, compared to 6,713ridesrequestedthrough dispatch calls, showing a strong preference for app-based access. Usage remained highest among ages 21–34, accounting for 35% of all riders, followed closely by ages 35–50 at 33%. These trends reflect the program’s appeal to working-age adults and reinforce Freebee’s role in supporting daily travel,accesstodestinations,andoverallconnectivitywithinthecommunity.
The Downtown area is east of US1, between Seaway Drive and Citrus Avenue with extra patrol of the Galleria (Orange / Avenue 2nd Street) and the alleyways between 113 and 121 N 2nd (Kraaz and Kraaz BuildingandFRLSbuilding).
Off-duty officers assigned to patrol Jetty Park and its surrounding areas are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of park visitors, the parking lots, Jetty boardwalk, beach area, and adjacent businesses.
DuringthemonthofDecember2025,therewereatotalof17FPRAdetailsworked for the North 25th area from Avenue O to Avenue M. There were 35 calls for serviceduringthedetailtimes.Disturbanceswerethetopreasonsforthecalls.
