MESSAGE FROM amfAR
Welcome to the fifth annual amfAR Palm Beach Gala and thank you for joining us this evening.
Year after year, the Palm Beach community has stood alongside amfAR with remarkable generosity and purpose. We are deeply grateful for your leadership and for the role you play in sustaining the momentum that drives scientific discovery forward.
For more than four decades, amfAR’s supporters have helped shape the course of HIV research worldwide. amfAR-funded science has contributed to four of the six major classes of HIV medications, including therapies that prevent mother-to-child transmission of the virus. Our researchers continue to make bold advances that have brought us closer than ever to achieving a cure.
Today, amfAR remains unwavering in its commitment to developing an accessible and affordable cure for the more than 40 million people living with HIV.
At the same time, we are deliberately expanding our scientific vision because the breakthroughs required to cure HIV are also reshaping how we understand immunity, viral disease, and human health more broadly.
By strategically investing in these areas—and in emerging tools such as AI-enabled science—we are moving closer to a cure while driving outcomes with the potential to impact other serious diseases. These discoveries will strengthen our mission, feeding new knowledge back into HIV cure research with greater speed, precision, and global reach.
Your support this evening enables amfAR to lead this next chapter of scientific progress, advancing research that saves lives here in Palm Beach and around the world.
We are honored to have you with us and deeply grateful for your continued partnership. Please enjoy the evening.

TIERNEY GEARON COMMISSION
An Exclusive Portrait Experience
L.A.-based Tierney Gearon has spent the majority of her career photographing families in their natural habitats, capturing the nuances of relationships and personalities in a genuine and dynamic manner. This commissioned portrait experience can include entire families, only children, or individuals.
The winning bidder will receive a half-day photo shoot at your family’s home or location of choice, as well as a print (up to 40 x 50 inches) of an image of your choosing, as well as a bespoke artist’s book of photographs from the session—uniquely edited and designed by Gearon herself.
Since her inclusion in the Saatchi Gallery’s 2001 London exhibition “I Am a Camera,” Gearon has remained one of the most pivotal image-makers of her generation. Her recently released book The Collection: A Visual Diary of Towels and Travel chronicles four years of photographing her expansive collection of Hermès beach towels on a global journey from Montana and Marrakesh to Japan and St. Barts.
Known for her powerful, intense, and vividly colorful photographs, Gearon often draws from the spontaneous moments of her own life—family, children, and close friends—which she considers the documented “diary of her soul.”
Her photographs have appeared in publications including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Architectural Digest, and The New York Times Magazine, where her series “Hollywood Heroines” featured 13 Oscar-winning women. Most recently, her images appeared on the cover of American Vogue for Lauren Sánchez Bezos’s wedding.

ALEXANDRE DIOP
L’opulence rend inconscient, 2025
Mixed media on wood
45.2 in. x 37.4 in. / 115 cm. x 95 cm.
Alexandre Diop (b. 1995, Paris, France) is a FrancoSenegalese artist whose mixed-media works explore ancestry, beauty, violence, and social transformation. Drawing on his background as a dancer, musician, and visual artist, Diop brings a multidisciplinary and visceral approach to his practice. He creates what he calls “object-images,” using found and recycled materials—scrap metal, wood, paper, leather, plastic, and textiles—sourced from urban streets, scrapyards, and abandoned buildings. These materials are layered, burned, torn, stapled, and collaged onto wood panels, resulting in works that exist between painting, sculpture, and relief.
Diop’s compositions often feature human or animal figures rendered through calligraphic lines, symbols, and sprayed or painted marks. Fragments of packaging and branding evoke histories of consumption, displacement, and resistance. While rooted in personal and political narratives, his work also engages art-historical movements including Dada, Art Brut, Expressionism, and the Viennese Secession, alongside West African visual traditions and contemporary urban culture. He lives and works in Vienna, Austria.

GRAFF
Carissa White Round and Pear Shape Diamond Earrings 68 diamonds totaling 12.87 carats set in white gold
An enchantingly elegant depiction of the Carissa flower, which grows in abundance at Delaire Graff Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Graff’s Carissa earrings in 18K white gold recreate the intricate, organic form of this beautiful bloom in marquise and pear shape diamonds with over 12 carats. Cascading downwards from each delicate cluster of Carissa flowers, round and multi-shape diamonds catch the light with each gesture of the wearer. Greek for ‘beloved,’ the pure elegance of the white, five-petaled Carissa flower is perfectly expressed in their exquisite Carissa collection.
For over 65 years, Graff has operated at the very pinnacle of the high jewelry industry, discovering and crafting diamonds of brilliance and rarity, transforming the hidden wonders of the earth into spectacular pieces of jewelry that move the heart and stir the soul.
Designed and crafted by their London atelier, Graff’s high jewelry creations celebrate the beauty of each individual stone, brought to life through masterful, stone-led design techniques. Founded by Laurence Graff OBE in 1960, the company remains a family business with Francois Graff as CEO. To this day, the journey of every jewel is overseen by a member of the Graff family with passion, expertise, and uncompromising attention to detail at every stage.

NEIL JENNEY
Improved Picasso, Mother and Child, 2006
Oil on canvas in artist’s frame
32 in. x 42 in. x 2.5 in. / 81.3 cm. x 106.7 cm. x 6.3 cm.
Neil Jenney (b. 1945, CT, U.S.) is a true original of twentieth-century American Art History. His prodigious output has been celebrated for decades and resides in numerous institutions, including nine works in MoMA; six in the Whitney; one in the Met; two in LACMA, and three in MOCA, LA. His career is the stuff of legend: largely self-taught, he moved to New York in 1966 and exhibited with Noah Goldowsky, Rudolf Zwirner, and David Whitney. For the past quarter-century he has been represented by Gagosian. Collectors of his work include Philip Johnson, Emily Fisher Landau, Denise and Andrew Saul, and Steve Martin.
This painting is the absolute epitome of Jenney’s ultimate project to destabilize notions of authorship. Having commissioned the meticulous Korean artist Ki-Young Sung to create an imitation Pablo Picasso masterpiece, Jenney thereafter “improved” details and constructed his signature frame to forge an entirely new perspective on themes of re-presentation and homage in Art History.

JAKE CLARK
Set of three vessels
Palm Beach collection includes: Carriage House, Colony Hotel, and Le Bilboquet, 2026
Glazed earthenware, gold luster
Various sizes
Jake Clark (b. 1985, Melbourne, Australia) is a contemporary artist whose work spans ceramics, painting, and installation. Known for his reinterpretations of urban iconography, branding, and cultural memory, Clark distills elements of everyday life into bold, ceramic forms that blur the boundaries between art, commerce, and nostalgia. Often working across cities like New York, Tokyo, and Athens, he draws inspiration from signage, storefronts, and souvenirs to create works that feel both familiar and freshly abstracted.
He has exhibited internationally, with solo shows at Albertz Benda (New York), Target Gallery (Tokyo), and PIERMARQ* (Sydney), and participated in notable group exhibitions at galleries including GAVLAK (LA/Miami), Stems (Paris), and WOAW (Hong Kong).
In 2023, Clark’s public installation at Rockefeller Center in New York marked a major milestone in his exploration of cultural symbols and scale.

OLIVER CLEGG
Unique work created for amfAR Palm Beach, 2026 Oil on canvas
80 in. x 60 in. / 152.4 cm. x 203.2 cm.
Oliver Clegg (b. 1980, Guildford, UK) received a BFA from the University of Bristol and an MFA from the City & Guilds of London Art School. Working across painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, installation, and text, he employs materials ranging from glass, wood, and steel to neon, resin, and industrial components. His paintings often use found supports and unconventional surfaces, blurring boundaries between image and object in a lineage that recalls postwar experimentation while remaining distinctly his own.
Clegg’s practice examines the shifting relationships between objects, images, language, and meaning—at once playful and philosophical, humorous yet sincere. His layered works transform everyday materials into vehicles for perceptual and conceptual inquiry.
Solo and group exhibitions include presentations at The Journal Gallery, Martos Gallery, and Jeffrey Deitch in New York; Sadie Coles HQ in London; Lawrie Shabibi in Dubai; and international venues including the Venice and Busan Biennales. Clegg’s work is held in major public and corporate collections worldwide, including IMMA, the McNay Art Museum, Deutsche Bank, UBS, the Zabludowicz Collection, and more.

MAKING AN IMPACT
For more than 40 years, amfAR has funded research that has revolutionized the treatment and prevention of HIV, benefited diseases beyond the virus, and forged a path toward a cure that could end AIDS once and for all. These advances would not be possible without supporters like you. Here are some of the ways your generosity has helped make an impact:
LIFESAVING TREATMENT: amfAR’s research has contributed to the development of four of the six main classes of antiretroviral drugs in use today.
HIV TRANSMISSION: amfAR’s first international research grant, awarded in 1987, supported a landmark study in Kenya that showed that HIV transmission can occur from females to males, and vice versa.
CCR5, A KEY PROTEIN: amfAR funded research showing that HIV almost always requires a protein called CCR5 to enter and infect cells. This breakthrough led to the development of the antiHIV drug maraviroc, which blocks CCR5.
CURING HIV: The discovery of CCR5 paved the way to the first case of an HIV cure in 2008. This was made possible by a stem cell transplant using donor cells lacking the CCR5 gene. Several people have since been cured using the same method.
MOTHER-TO-CHILD HIV TRANSMISSION: amfAR pioneered research that led to the use of antiretroviral drugs to block mother-to-child HIV transmission. As a result, this mode of transmission has been all but eliminated in many parts of the world.
OTHER MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGHS: HIV research is providing insights into a range of diseases, their causes, and their treatment. Better diagnostic methods, therapies to restore the immune system, newer preventive antibiotics and drugs, and new treatments for infectious diseases and cancer were all developed in the course of HIV research.
DID YOU KNOW?
More than 40 million people worldwide are living with HIV.
Roughly 23% of them (9 million) still don’t have access to lifesaving treatment.
Children under the age of 15 are the age group least likely to be on treatment.
The rapid development of COVID vaccines that protected the health of millions was made possible by innovations developed through HIV vaccine research.
One of the main classes of anti-HIV drugs is being used to treat and cure hepatitis C.
Long-acting injectable PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis)—is now approved for use and could revolutionize HIV prevention.
In the U.S., Southern states are disproportionately impacted by HIV, accounting for more than half of all new diagnoses each year.
