Service Charge & Tax
SERVICE CHARGE
All Room Rental, Food & Beverage, Audio Visual, and related services are subject to a taxable service charge The Hotel’s current service charge (subject to change) is currently 24%.
For Food & Beverage related costs, this 24% is broken down into a 17.25% non-taxable service charge provided to wait staff employees and service employees, and an administrative fee of 6.75% taxable service charge that is retained by the hotel so that we can continue to provide excellent service. These amounts are listed on banquet event orders and trial checks.
SALES TAX
The sales tax in Pittsburgh is currently 7%. If a group is exempt from sales tax, a Tax Exemption form must be provided to CSM. CSM will submit applicable forms to the Hotel Accounting office for Taxes to be adjusted from Final Invoice. Sales Tax will appear on Banquet Trial Checks.
