EXPOSED, EDGE, ENCLOSED SHADOWBOX STUDY

PROJECT TYPE COMPLETED Hope Hasbrouck Studio Project Summer 2023

PROJECT

This project interrogates the human-centered landscape experience through sectional study, constructing three layered shadow boxes that explore exposed field, asymmetrical edge, and interior enclosed conditions. By combining scaled drawings, laser-cut layers, plant references, and a modeled human figure, the work translates Romantic landscape imagery and site-specific research into immersive, spatial narratives that communicate atmosphere, scale, and embodied perception.

LA Design Studio I Fall 2025

PROJECT

This introductory project explored principles of landscape architecture through a three-phase investigation of representation and spatial design. This project investigated the relationship between spatial form, site context, and cultural meaning through the design of a folly sited within the Parlin–Calhoun courtyard at UT Austin. Working at a selected scale (4x, 8x, or 16x), I began with a site analysis that examined circulation, spatial hierarchies, and the courtyard’s architectural character. Using iterative modeling and diagramming, I developed a proposal focused on the interplay between volume and void to create a squirrel house. This design explored access, enclosure, and spatial sequencing. Rhino models were translated into isometric drawings and sectional studies, refined in AutoCAD for lineweight, clarity, and visual hierarchy.

PRECEDENT STUDY

LOCATION

Ricardo Lara Linear Park Lynwood, California

PROJECT

This semester, I analyzed the design proposal for Ricardo Linear Park in California through close readings of the project packet, focusing on how visual tools communicate landscape transformation.

MERIT OFFICE GARDEN

LOCATION

Merit Landscape Solutions, Houston, TX

PROJECT

During my internship, I developed a site enhancement proposal for a corporate office in Houston, focusing on employee wellness and curb appeal. The project included analyzing the existing site layout and designing a courtyard space featuring a pergola, curated plant palette, lighting elements, and low-maintenance landscaping. I created conceptual site visuals and plant selection graphics to communicate the design intent, emphasizing a welcoming, sustainable, and functional outdoor area for employee breaks and client impressions.

PLAYSCAPES DESIGN

LOCATION

New York City, NY

PROJECT

During my internship with a professional landscape architect, I worked on the conceptual design for Shooting Star Park, a community playground located on a challenging topographical site. I learned how to design play spaces that respond to grade changes, circulation needs, and experiential qualities. The large physical model shown here represents the major playground area, illustrating how terrain, pathways, and play elements integrate with the site’s natural contours. I also developed custom playground equipment inspired by the site’s cultural narrative and neighborhood identity. The astronaut design sketches shown demonstrate my process of merging storytelling with functional play structures.

Throughout the project, I produced multiple layout iterations testing different combinations of equipment, accessibility routes, and spatial organization

COURSE COMPLETED Michael Averitt Foundation Design Studio Fall 2025

PROJECT

This project reimagines Claude Nicolas Ledoux’s visionary City of Chaux through a contemporary digital lens. I designed a detailed city model using Vectorworks, integrating formal geometry and spatial planning inspired by Ledoux’s writings.

LANDFORMS

PROJECT

This foundational studio project investigated the complexities of natural landforms through a multi-media exploration process. The investigation began with analyses of existing landform conditions, followed by clay modeling exercises that examined topographical relationships and dimensional qualities. These studies were then modeled digitally, generating precise contours and measurements. The project culminated in artistic interpretations that bridged the gap between analytical understanding and creative expression. Through this progression, the project revealed the relationships between natural formations, spatial composition, and design interpretation in landscape architecture.

Personal Artwork

LOCATION

Paris, France and Austin,TX

PROJECT

This collection represents my ongoing artistic journey, an exploration of style, form, and storytelling. These pieces were developed through travel sketches, class projects, and personal studies, capturing the timeless beauty of landscapes and architecture. Each artwork reflects my process of synthesizing observation with imagination, using illustration as a tool to generate design ideas and interpret spatial experiences.

Through these visuals, I investigate narrative-driven environments, emotion in space, and the harmony between built and natural elements. They mark a pivotal stage in finding my artistic voice and demonstrate how creativity informs and enriches my approach to design.
