GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE
DIRECTOR OF AGRONOMY
Brian Buckner
The warmer than normal weather continues and we ’ re not complaining Both golf courses continue to be in great shape and playability is excellent. Both courses should come of this winter in great shape and ready for the peak golfing season.
The Agronomy Team continues to perform well throughout the winter knocking out several projects. We have just completed our lank bank remediation on the Member course #1 & 9 as we removed trash trees and shrubs. This really opened up this hole and made it look so much better We have also completed some landscape work up around the restroom facility on #6 of the Member course
In February, we begin the first of three pre-emerge herbicide applications to the courses. This will ensure that both courses are weed free through the peak golfing season.
I’m really looking forward to spring and growing grass, see you on the course!

Keep Walking Simple
Starting a fitness journey requires momentum, and the simpler the goal, the more likely you are to succeed. Start walking. No gym membership, no fancy gear just lace up your shoes and step outside. Walking is the ultimate low-barrier exercise because anyone can begin today, anywhere: the sidewalk, golf course, or treadmill. If you ’ ve fallen off before, just start again. Walking is a powerful gateway to improved fat loss, heart health, muscle endurance, and joint resilience without stress or overwhelm.
Walking steadily burns calories, but small upgrades can amplify results Brisk pacing activates large muscle groups like the glutes, legs, and core, boosting metabolism and helping target stubborn midsection fat common after 40 It stabilizes blood sugar, curbs appetite, and elevates calorie burn for hours after you finish. Add variety hills, grass, or longer strides to increase calorie burn and improve balance and durability.
A 2007 Japanese study from Shinshu University compared steady walking with interval walking (3 minutes fast, 3 minutes slow). After five months, interval walkers improved leg strength, aerobic fitness, VO₂ max, and blood pressure significantly more than steady walkers key markers for longevity and fat loss
Start now Try interval walking 4–5 days per week, and add intensity gradually A little goes a long way and a little every day goes even further. When you ’ re ready to level up, visit ArrowFit.
