About Miracle Makers
For 29 years, Miracle Makers, a program of East End Community Services by WestCare Ohio, has been a safe place for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Serving students in kindergarten through 6th grade, Miracle Makers provides year round afterschool and summer programming that combines academic support, enrichment, social emotional learning, and family engagement to help children build confidence and succeed in school and life. During the 2024 to 2025 program year, Miracle Makers served 212 children and provided 427 additional family and support service touches through wraparound supports, caregiver engagement, and connection to critical resources. Children participate in tutoring, STEM and arts enrichment, gardening and nutrition education, leadership development, and evidence based social emotional learning through programs like Second Step™ and Zones of Regulation™.
For many of the children we serve, Miracle Makers is more than an afterschool program. It is a place where they are encouraged, supported, and reminded that their future matters. Research shows that children experiencing poverty can face significant learning loss and fewer opportunities for enrichment outside the classroom. Miracle Makers works to close those gaps by creating consistent access to caring adults, academic support, healthy meals, and experiences that spark curiosity and joy.
