AYE 2027 Geneva Academy - Uniform Policy

Page 1

Geneva Academy’s Uniform Policy is founded in a desire to cultivate a professional culture that is neat, orderly, and honors God in our attire. We recognize that humans are both physical and spiritual beings made in the image of God, and the way we dress is an expression of stewardship of our bodies and regard for others.

Our uniform policy exists to foster:

A Respectful and Focused Learning Environment

Humility and Modesty, Making Appropriate Gendered Distinction

Reduction of Peer Pressure and Social Stratification

Sense of Identity and Unity

The school administration will determine if there is a violation of the Uniform Policy, either in fact or attitude. Non-compliant students will be expected to correct their appearance quickly

Apparel:

The uniform consists of one required uniform for dress days with optional acceptable items for casual days

Students’ clothing must be clean, free of holes or tears, and be appropriately sized.

No visible undergarments

Hair & Accessories:

Students will keep their hair clean and well-groomed

No visible tattoos are allowed

Watches are allowed; they cannot make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear. If watches becomes a distraction the teacher has the discretion to request it be removed
