Uniform Policy 2026-2027
Uniform Policy Coram Deo Academy’s Uniform Policy is rooted in a desire to honor God in all we do, acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our choices, including clothing that is modest and respectable. By doing this, we create and promote a learning environment that reinforces the truth that God has made humanity in His image, male and female, and that there is beauty and glory in His intentional design of each child as either a boy or a girl. Our policy is based on the following principles: All human actions reveal and communicate the disposition of the heart at some level. It is our desire to use the policy as a means of addressing these heart issues rather than seeking to anticipate and curb the numerous iterations that surface throughout the year with a looser dress code. Uniforms help promote unity between students in our school. When our students are in uniform, it visually communicates that they are part of the same team: image-bearers of Christ striving towards academic excellence. The neat appearance created by a uniform enhances a ready-to-learn atmosphere. Clothing represents vocational calling, and inherent in the policy is a desire to create an environment that de-emphasizes the social impact of dress and helps students to focus on character and academic issues instead. The Uniform Policy addresses security. Whether students are in class, on the playground, or on a field trip, teachers and staff can clearly distinguish students from outsiders. We appreciate the cooperation of students, parents, and teachers is necessary to maintain the uniform standard.

We have found that the quality and aesthetic of Lands’ End best represents our school’s culture and values. However, we recognize that their price may not fit the budgets of all families. Outside of a few select items outlined above, you are welcome to purchase similar items from other retailers, provided they meet the standards outlined within this document.

Ladies’ Uniforms Pants, Dresses, Skirts & Skorts Pants Black or khaki uniform-style pants; no jeans, leggings, or cargo-style pants Black belt must be worn if the pants have belt loops School Dresses/Skirts/Skorts Dresses and plaid skirts must be purchased from Lands’ End or French Toast To the top of the knee or longer Solid black, solid gray, or CDA burgundy/gray plaid Primary ladies may also wear jumpers Dresses, Skirts & Skorts must be worn with tights, leggings, or knee socks (see next page) Shirts Black, gray, white or burgundy Collared shirt, Polo or Oxford-style button-up Must be tucked in at all times CDA logos are permitted and encouraged. Clothing brand logos are permitted but must be neutral in color and small. No other logos are permitted. Ladies’ Footwear & More Shoes, Socks, Tights & Leggings Shoes Black, closed-toe dress or casual shoes; any accents must be neutral and laces must be black Secondary ladies may wear low-heeled shoes Socks, Tights, and Leggings Dresses/skirts/skorts must be worn with either tights or leggings and socks - no bare legs Colors must be solid black, gray or white Socks must be ankle-length or longer Hair & Makeup Primary Ladies may not wear makeup Secondary Ladies may wear light makeup Hair must be of natural color and feminine style Hair accessories must be fitting to the colors and style of the uniform, which is modest and conservative Nail polish is allowed as long as the colors are classy and fitting to the uniform Accessories & Jewelry Cross tie in black, burgundy, or burgundy/gray CDA plaid Jewelry must be classy and fitting to the uniform No body piercing jewelry or visible tattoos Watches may not make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear If hair accessories or jewelry become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request that they be removed Outerwear, Backpacks & Lunchboxes Students may wear outer garments outdoors in any color or style, as long as words and images are God-honoring. These garments are not allowed indoors. If a student feels cold inside, they should bring an inside jacket or sweater, as mentioned on the previous page. Beanies or stocking caps during recess when it is cold. They may be worn outdoors only for warmth, not as an accessory. Students may select color, but it must be a solid color without designs, characters, or logos. Backpacks/ Lunchboxes may be students' choice, but words and images must be God-honoring.

Gentlemen’s Footwear & More Shoes, Socks & Belt Shoes Black, closed-toe dress or casual shoes; any accents must be neutral and laces must be black Socks Black or grey Belt Black Hair Hair must be kept in a traditional boys haircut, above collar and neatly groomed No coloring or unnatural look of hair permitted Any facial hair must be neatly groomed Accessories Tie in black or burgundy/gray CDA plaid (from Lands’ End or French Toast) Watches are the only visible jewelry allowed for boys. They may not make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear. If a watch become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request it be removed.
