The City of Fort Pierce has officially launched the Indian River Drive Corridor Improvements Project, a $10.25 million investment to enhance safety, mobility, and accessibilityalongthewaterfront.A well-attended groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 6, 2025, at Veterans Memorial Park, highlighting strong community supportfortheproject.

ImprovementsincludefullroadwayreconstructionfromSeawayDrivetoMarina Way, additional on-street parking, bridge reconstruction, and enhanced pedestrian and streetscape features. Funded through local and state sources, including the Half-Cent Infrastructure Surtax, FPRA, Road Impact Fees, and a FloridaJobGrowthInfrastructureGrant.Theprojectwillbeconstructedinphases and is expected to be completed by 2027. The City of Fort Pierce is moving forward with improvements along Avenue D, including resurfacing from 29th Street to US 1 and full reconstruction from US 1 to Indian River Drive. For the reconstruction portion, the contract was sent to the contractor on November13.Onceitissigned,theagreementwillbe presented to the City Commission for approval, followed by scheduling a Pre-Construction meeting. At this time, construction is not expected to begin in 2026.

As the final step of the FPRA’s comprehensive wayfinding gateway entrance signs will be installed at key entry points throughout the city. Each sign has been designed to accommodate illumination, offering an opportunitytofurtherenhancetheirvisibilityandimpactafterdark.

The second amendment to the Don Bell agreement will be presented to the FPRA Board at the December meeting for consideration This amendment includes approval to move forward with t andextendstheprojectcompletiondateto




A proposed Change Order was approved at the November FPRA meeting and includesadditionalservicesthatextendbeyondtheoriginalprojectscopeand are necessary to address these evolving needs. The expanded scope of work willinclude:
Enhanced engagement with key stakeholders, including the City Marina, downtownbusinesses,FortPierceYouthCouncil,MainStreetFortPierce,Fort Pierce Farmers’ Market, and the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society to identify currentandfutureparkingandaccessneeds.
A comprehensive parking and access analysis building on previous City studies, assessing both short and long-term parking solutions, potential structured and surface parking sites, and developing mapped circulation planstoimproveconnectivity,access,andwalkability.
Updates to the Marina Square Conceptual Design Document to incorporate a refined parking strategy, emergency and service access routes, enhanced public access to the waterfront, and final stakeholder feedback.
With the Change Order approved, the consultant has begun meeting with City Marina staff to discuss Marina Square needs and explore design and accessoptions,ensuringthefinalDowntownParkConceptualDesignisfully integrated, functional, and aligned with long-term community use and redevelopmentgoals.


EXP US Services, the consultant for the 2nd Street Improvements Project, has finalized four design concepts to share with the community. These concepts illustrate potential enhancements and layout options aimed at improving safety,accessibility,andoverallcorridorfunctionality.
As part of the design process, the EXP team is also conducting interviews with business and property owners along 2nd Street, between Marina Way and OrangeAvenue,tobetterunderstandtheirneeds,challenges,andpriorities.
Communityfeedbackcontinuestoplayavitalroleinshapingthevisionfor2nd Street. Staff appreciates the ongoing input and support as the project progresses toward creating a more vibrant, welcoming, and connected corridor.





A public survey is now available for residents, business owners, and stakeholders to provide feedback on potential uses of the Old St. Anastasia building and the surrounding parcels. The survey results will play an important role in shaping the early phases of the planning process, helping determine how the building can best serve the community and what types of future uses or developments may be appropriatefortheadjacentproperties.
In addition to the survey, a stakeholder interview session will be held on December 10 at City Hall with property and business owners from the Peacock Arts District. This meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to share their insights and perspectives, which will help guide the development of the master plan and ensure it reflects the needsandaspirationsofthesurroundingcommunity.

The Lincoln Park Redevelopment Master Plan, covering the area from US Highway1to33rdStreetandfromAvenueBtoAvenueQisnowunderway.The Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council (TCRPC) has begun one-on-one stakeholderinterviewstobetterunderstandcommunitypriorities,opportunities, andchallenges.ThisinterviewphasewillcontinuethroughDecember2025.
In late 2025 and into early 2026, the process will expand into broader public engagement, including community workshops where residents and stakeholders can provide input and help shape the vision for the Lincoln Park area.ThefirstworkshopisanticipatedforJanuary2026.
This planning effort is structured to ensure that the community’s voice leads the development of a long-term, sustainable, and vibrant future for Lincoln Park.




The City of Fort Pierce has requested an extension for the Highwaymen Museum grant, moving the deadline to June 30, 2026. This extension, expected to be approved will not affect the project’s funding or progress. It simply provides additional time to complete all grant-funded work, which is still on track for a projectedcompletiondateofDecember30,2025.

These security systems will be programmed and tested once the network is fully operational.Staffiscurrentlycoordinatingwiththenetworkoperationscenterteam to finalize the remaining IT components needed for full security integration. One outstanding item remains: the fire sprinkler contractor must address a sprinkler pipethatcurrentlyobstructsthesidewalkpath.
The mural installation is scheduled to begin on December 8, 2025, with completion anticipated by February 13, 2026. During this same period, four cementmosaicbencheswillalsobeinstalled.
The project continues to remain on schedule and is expected to be fully ready ahead of the 9th Annual Highwaymen Heritage Trail Art Show and Festival on Saturday,February21,2026.

Following the community-wide poll that closed on August 28th with over 2,000 votes cast, the mural design by artist Brian Peterson received the most votes. His concept brings the magic of the stage outdoors with a radiant sunrise, musicians, dancers, and performers that celebrate the creativityandspiritoftheperformingarts.
After the community vote, staff conducted a site visit to assess the wall conditions.Itwasdeterminedthatsurfacecrackrepairs,pressurewashing, primer application, site protection, and cleanup are necessary prior to installation.Theseadditionalservicestotalapproximately$15,000.00.Minor adjustments were also made to the design to better align with the wall’s structureandarchitecturalfeatures.




We are now moving forward with the selection process. The CRAA Committee’s recommendations will be reviewed by the FPRA Board on December9,2025,atwhichtimetheBoardwillmakethefinaldetermination ontheselectedcandidates.
The deadline for submitting License Agreements has been extended throughDecember2025.Wewillcontinuetokeepthecommunityinformed astheprojectprogresses.

We are pleased to announce upcoming enhancements coming to the intersection of Delaware Avenue and 33rd Street. In response to community feedback and ongoing efforts to enhance traffic flow and safety, the improvements will provide a smoother, more efficient experience for both driversandpedestrians.
The engineering design consultant, Kimley-Horn Associates, 90% design planhasbeensubmittedandisbeingreviewed. Finalplansareanticipated earlyintothenewyear.

The Commercial Façade Grant Program continues to serve as an important resource for property and business owners seeking to improve the appearance and vitality of commercial corridors within the FPRA District. The next round of the program is anticipated to open in early 2026, offering additional opportunities for reinvestment.
At the November meeting, the FPRA Board approved two new commercial façade improvement agreements for 706 S US Hwy 1 and 2210 Orange Avenue. These projects are expected to bring meaningful enhancements to their respective properties, further supporting the FPRA’s ongoing mission to reduce blight, strengthenkeycorridors,andencourageprivatereinvestment.

The FPRA is continuing to accept applications for the Commercial Façade Sign Program!
This program provides reimbursable grants of up to $5,000 per property to help existing businesses upgrade outdated signage with modern, visually appealing designs. These improvements not only beautify the community but also increase business visibility, helping to attract new customers and strengthenbrandidentity.Eligibleapplicantsmustbebusinesseslocatedwithin theFPRADistrict.
The program is currently open and actively accepting applications, reflecting strong interest and engagement from local property owners. To date, seventeen (17) applications have been approved, resulting in $69,944.30 in financialassistanceawardedforsignageupgradesandreplacements.

During the month of October Officer Washington was engaged in multiple events at the school. Officer Washington attended and participated in school activities such as the school’s Hispanic Heritage Night, Trunk or Treat and Dan McCarty’s Soccer/Volleyball game. In the month of October Dan McCarty conducted a Hazmat drill and Officer Washington assisted. Officer Washington conducted multiple investigations in the month of October to include a narcotics case and battery. Officer Washington made sure to stay engaged with students by staying visible during events and engaging students in conversationwhileatDanMcCarty.
During the month of October Officer Goz participated in school events such as school Hispanic Heritage week and Character parade. In addition, Officer Goz assisted with the school Hazmat drill and attended school attendance meetings for the month. As a result of Officer Goz supporting the school attendance initiative, the school keeps improving with attendance. During this month Officer Goz was involved in multiple investigations and reports were completed for suspicious incidents and school threats. Officer Goz keeps engaging his students by having lunch with them and participating in events suchastheCharacterparade.OfficerGozalsoworkedwithSaintLucieCounty Fire department in there Lil Feet event. The event raises money to make sure thatallchildrenofSaintLucieCountydonotgowithoutshoes.
