Mr. Tyson
Principal David W. Carter High School

Cowboy Scholars,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! As we step into this exciting chapter together, I want to encourage each of you to approach the year with energy, determination, and a belief in your ability to succeed.
Every day brings new opportunities—to learn, to grow, to connect with others, and to discover your unique potential. Make the most of every moment. Ask questions. Take on challenges. Support your peers. And never be afraid to dream big.
Your teachers and staff are here to guide and support you, but your journey is yours to shape. Let this be the year you push a little further, aim a little higher, and show yourself just how much you're capable of.
Here’s to a fantastic year ahead full of learning, growth, and success!
With Carter Pride and Excitement, Mr. Tyson

“Being a senior is exciting—you're ready to graduate, but sad to leave your friends behind.” GD
“Being a senior is truly a bittersweet experience. I never thought I’d make it this far while I’m excited, the future also feels scary. I have so many questions about college and what lies ahead, but I trust God has a plan for me, so I’m determined to live in the moment and make this my best year yet.“ SH
“Now that I’ve finally reached my senior year, I’m incredibly motivated to graduate As a student originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who has traveled throughout my entire high school journey I’m truly grateful for this moment” DS
“It feels nice to become an adult, but challenging at the same time. Being the oldest in the school can be intimidating, but inspiring as well. Soon as we know it, it’ll be time to graduate !” NJ

The 9 Grade Advanced Biology Students completed their first project And the students did a phenomenal job The first project was entilted porkaryoitc and or eukaryotic cell The students challenge was to make a 3-dimensional model of the cell, identify the organelles, and describe the function of each organelle “Not only was the project fun,” said Kai Murray, “but I also learned so much and feel real confident explaining the differences between the prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell ”

th Our next project is coming up soon Students will make a model of DNA and explain how DNA works All students taking biology will complete this project Our goal is for each student to score Masters on the Biology EOC. Actually, we want the students to score Masters on all EOC’s. Help us reach our goal by encouraging our students to score 85% or above on each assessment Go Carter Cowboys!
