Uniform Policy 2026-2027

Our Philosophy

The uniform policy at Brookside Christian Academy is driven by a desire to create and promote an environment of learning where dress is not a distraction to the educational process. We recognize that humans are both physical and spiritual beings made in the image of God, and the way we dress is an expression of stewardship of our bodies and regard for others. Our uniform policy exists to foster: A Respectful and Focused Learning Environment Humility and Modesty Reduction of Peer Pressure and Social Stratification Sense of Identity and Unity

Basic Guidelines Dress neatly Be clean Be compliant

The school administration will determine if there is a violation of the dress code, either in fact or intent. Students not complying with the dress code will be required to rectify their appearance as quickly as possible. Special days may be scheduled, such as dress up days or Spirit week, during which other clothing options are allowed.

Uniform Requirements Each BCA student is required to have two types of uniforms for specific days: Regular Dress Uniforms: Worn Monday-Thursday Spirit Wear Casual Day: Fridays Apparel: Students clothing must be clean, free of holes or tears and appropriately sized No visible undergarments. Girl’s shorts and skirts must be no more than 3 inches above the knees. Girls must wear tights/leggings or biker shorts under their dresses or skirts. Leggings, jersey pants and cargo styles may not be worn as pants. Shirts must be tucked in (belt recommended). Brookside hoodies are allowed on Spirit Wear Fridays, otherwise please choose from the options provided on the links provided below. Hair, Appearance & Accessories: Students will keep their hair neat, clean and well-groomed. Hair should be natural-colored (hair dye is permissible but must be natural colors) Ribbons and bows should be school colors: hunter green, navy blue, white or cream No visible tattoos are allowed. Make-up: middle school and up if parent-approved (keep it modest/natural) If watches become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request that it be removed. Backpacks: Backpacks should be in solid, neutral colors such as black, white, navy, gray, green, or brown. Backpacks may not display licensed characters, entertainment themes, or large decorative graphics and should maintain a simple, classic appearance.

Purchasing Information ORDER UNIFORMS HERE We hope that our uniforms can save families both and time and money. By deemphasizing the social impact of dress, the uniform helps focus the students on character and academic issues. It strives to level the playing field for every student, regardless of economic context. Uniforms can be purchased several ways. Please only choose from the following options: Lands’ End, Children’s Place and Old Navy. Please note, Lands’ End has available items under the Brookside Academy storefront. Embroidery: Brookside will coordinate regular opportunities for embroidering logos on pre-purchased shirts. An email will be sent out prior to the beginning of the school year with more information. Shirts and outerwear must be embroidered (rain jackets and winter coats without the logo are permissible).
